INTRODUCTION
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation work, operation and maintenance instructions of the
CHARDER R240 Scale, please read this manual completely before installing and operating scale.
Safety Precautions
Please follow these safety precautions:
• Verify AC Adapter input voltage matches the local AC power supply.
•Do not insert liquids or foreign object.
• Do not operate the scale in hostile environments.
• Do not drop loads or leave permanent load on the platform. This may damage the measuring system.
• Do not place the scale upside down on the pan.
•Do not open the scale. Never attempt to make repairs yourself because this could be dangerous. The warranty is
void if this stipulation is ignored. The scale may only be opened by authorized personnel.
•Always disconnect the device from the power supply before installing, servicing, cleaning or performing
maintenance.
• Check the power cable regularly for damage. If it is damaged, immediately disconnect the device from the power
supply.

Parts Description
Selecting the Location
Select a firm, vibration-free and horizontal location for the scale. Avoid locations with direct sunlight, excessive air
current, heat sources, or rapid temperature fluctuations.
Power
Connect the AC Adaptor to the AC mains supply. Connect the plug to the AC jack on the bottom of the scale as shown
in the illustration below. The power outlet should be close to the scale and easily accessible.
Battery Power
The scale will automatically switch to battery operation if there is a power failure or the power cord is removed to
provide uninterrupted scale operation.
Note: When low battery is displayed, the scale will shut off after 30 seconds.
CAUTION:
Risk of explosion can occur if replaced with the wrong type or connected improperly.
Do not disassemble, repair or otherwise manipulate the battery socket.
Obey the local laws and regulations on disposing the battery.

Turning Scale On/Off
To turn the scale on, press the [ON/OFF] button. Scale will display and then enters the active weighing
mode.
To turn the scale off, press the [ON/OFF] button.
Zero Operation & Setting
When power on the scale and if the weight on the scale is within the initial zero tolerance, the scale will display zero
automatically.
Although there is nothing on the pan and the display is not zero, press [TARE] button to set zero to the scale.
Changing Units of Measure
In weighing mode, use [UNIT] to display the next available measuring unit. Repeat process to scroll through all units.
Checkweighing Mode
This mode sets low and high weight limits for portion control processes.
Enter checkwighing mode
Press and hold [HOLD/TARGET] button to enter checkweighing mode.
Setting target weight values
LOWER LIMIT SETTING
The first digit is displayed flashing.
A triangle appears next to the Under.
And the LCD turns no backlight.
Repeatedly press [TARE▲]until the desired number
appears.
Press [UNIT] to accept and move to the next digit.
Repeat until all the digits are correct.
And press [HOLD/TARGET/OK] to confirm the setting of
lower limit and then enter to high limit setting.
HIGH LIMIT SETTING
The first digit is displayed flashing.
A triangle indicator will appears next to the Over and
the LCD light up in red.
Repeatedly press [TARE▲]until the desired number
appears. Press [UNIT]to accept and move to the next
digit.
Repeat until all the digits are correct.
And press [HOLD/TARGET/OK] to confirm setting.
Ready for Checkweighing
If required, place an empty container on the pan and press [TARE].
Return to Weighing mode
Press and hold [HOLD/TARGET] button to return weighing mode.

Checkweighing Annunciators
The OVER, ACCEPT, and UNDER annunciators are to the right of the display and the features as below.
WITHIN TARGET RANGE
The LCD light up in green and a triangle appears next to
“Accept”, and you will hear 2 short beeps.
UNDER TARGET RANGE
The LCD light off and a triangle appears next to “Under”
and no beep sound effect.
OVER TARGET RANGE
The LCD light up in red and a triangle appears next to
“Over”, and you will hear continuous short beeps.
If the display shows Err, this means weight exceeds
overload limit.
SETTINGS
Backlight Setting
Press [TARE] and hold for 2 seconds to turn ON the backlight manually.
Press [TARE] and hold for 2 seconds to turn OFF the backlight manually.
Tare Setting
Place an empty container on the scale and press [TARE]. The display will show a net value of “0”.and triangle appears
under to “NET”.
To clear the Tare value, press [TARE] with the pan empty.
Auto off Setting
Press and hold [UNIT] for 6 seconds until the display show
And display will show A_OFF, press [UNIT] to select auto turn off time or off this function. And press [ZERO] and press
[UNIT] to see End to confirm setting.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Before cleaning, disconnect the power plug from power outlet and remove batteries from the appliance to power off
the unit.
•Clean with a damp cloth and a mild soap or similar agents if necessary, and buffed dry with.
• Do not use any acids, alkalis or strong active solvents to clean the housing or control panels.
Troubleshooting

WARRANTY
Charder scales are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of 1(one) year from the date
of purchase. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. Warranty expiration on products returned without proof
of purchase will be determined from the manufacturing date code or the date of shipment to the authorized dealer.
Coverage may be invalidated as this date is previous to purchase date. No other express or implied warranty is given
by Charder.
Freight damage on returns is not covered under warranty.
This warranty does not apply for following reasons, the product has been damaged by accident or misuse, parts and
products of a consumable nature, exposed to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreign material penetrating to
the inside of the product, or as a result of service or modification by other than Charder.
