The purpose of this Manual is to provide the operator with all the information to get the best performances from Clarke SW 26.
Before operating the machine, read carefully the following information.
The machine here described is intended for commercial use only.

The Operator's Manual must be kept near the machine, inside an adequate case, away from liquids and other substances that
can cause damage to it.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING!

This sweeper is not suitable for collecting dangerous powders.–
Do not collect toxic, carcinogen, combustible materials or other dangerous materials such as asbestos,–
arsenic, barium, beryllium, lead, pesticide or other harmful materials.
Do not collect burning cigarette butts or other burning objects, ash, matches or similar.–
To remove glass, metals or sharp objects from the hopper, wear thick gloves to prevent personal injuries.–
Empty the hopper after each use.–
This walk-behind sweeper is not suitable to collect liquids.–
This sweeper must be used in dry conditions, it must not be used or kept outdoors in wet conditions.–
Do not use the sweeper on uneven surfaces.–
Do not allow to be used as a toy. Pay careful attention when using the machine near children.–

SWEEPER OPERATION
If necessary, adjust the handlebar (1) to one of the 3 positions, by using the knobs (2).1.
Grab the handlebar and push the machine forward no faster than a normal walking pace. The machine does not work if2.
dragged backwards.
CAUTION!

The hopper (3) should be emptied after each working cycle and whenever it is full.3.
NOTE
When the hopper is full, the machine cannot collect dust and debris anymore.
HOPPER EMPTYING
Lift the hopper with the handle (4) in the front side and empty it into a proper container.1.
Install the hopper on the machine by inserting the lower end into the machine frame (12).2.
Slightly press downwards until the hopper is in the proper position.
It is advisable to empty the hopper after each use and whenever it is necessary.3.
AFTER USING THE MACHINE
After working, before leaving the machine: empty the hopper (4) and check the main brooms (8 and 9) to remove foreign
materials (lace, wire, strings or similar) which can compromise the proper operation.
To store the machine in a narrow place, fold the handlebar (1).
Loosen the knobs (2) and pull the handlebar upwards.–
Fold down the handlebar and lock it.–
Then place the machine in a vertical position to preserve the broom bristles.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION!

For other procedures, contact the Service Center.
Use only Clarke original spare parts and accessories.
The lifespan of the machine and its maximum operating safety are ensured by correct and regular maintenance.

SWEEPER MAINTENANCE
After each use, perform the following procedures:
Empty the hopper (3).–
Check if there are foreign objects caught in the brooms or wheels and remove them immediately.–

Periodically check the main and side brooms for wear ; adjust their height or replace them when the sweeping capacity is–
reduced.

MACHINE CLEANING
Regularly clean the machine with a wet cloth.
CAUTION!
Do not clean the machine with pressure washer!
All bearings are protected against dust and do not require lubrication or maintenance.
BROOM ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the height of the main broom (9) with the two knobs (7). When turning them, each step on the marked numbers1.
amounts to a broom lowering.
Check that the two knobs (7) are on the same marked number. Otherwise there will be a difference in the longitudinal
pressure of the broom.
Adjust the height of the side brooms (6) with the knobs (5). When turning them counter-clockwise, each step amounts to a2.
broom lowering.

Assemble the main broom in the reverse order of5.

Install the main broom with the bristles as shown in
(H, Fig. 1).
Install the short driving belt by crossing it as shown (I,
Fig. 2).
Pay attention to the proper position of the long driving
belt (D, Fig. 1).
Turn the 2 knobs (7) on the position 1.
After installation, check the sweeper operation by testing the
rotation direction of the brooms (13).

SIDE BROOM DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY
CAUTION!
It is advisable to wear protective gloves when
replacing the brooms because there can be
sharp debris between the bristles.
Disassembly
Place the machine in a suitable place, with the bottom1.
side up.
Remove the screw (A, Fig. 3), and keep the washer (B)2.
and the bearings (C) for reassembly.
Remove the driving belt (D) and the side broom (E).3.
Replace the side broom.4.
Assembly
Assemble the side broom in the reverse order of5.
disassembly, and note the following:
Install the driving belt (F, Fig. 4) as shown.
Turn the knobs fully clockwise.
After installation, check the sweeper operation by testing the
rotation direction of the brooms (14).

TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING!


Repair and services must be performed by Clarke authorized technicians.
The following instructions should be useful to solve some machine problems. If the suggested remedies are not effective, it is
necessary to contact the Service Center.

The machine does not move smoothly. The side or main brooms are too low. Adjust the brooms.

The machine speed is too high. Reduce the working speed.
The machine leaves dust marks. Some dust may collect inside the housing
behind the brooms.
Remove the dust from the housing.

Para reducir al mínimo el riesgo de incendios o lesiones personales:
Esta barredera no es adecuada para recoger polvos peligrosos.–
No recoger materiales tóxicos, cancerígenos, combustibles ni ningún otro material peligroso, como–

No recoger colillas encendidas ni otros materiales fumógenos, cenizas, fósforos o similares.–

Vaciar el depósito de recogida después de cada utilización.–
Esta barredera de tracción no es apta para recoger líquidos.–
La máquina sólo se puede usar en seco y no se debe usar o tener al exterior en condiciones de humedad.–

No permitir que se utilice como si fuera un juguete. Tener mucho cuidado cuando se utiliza cerca de–
niños.
Usar sólo los cepillos suministrados junto a la máquina o aquellos indicados en el Libro de instrucciones.–
Usar otros cepillos puede perjudicar la seguridad.
Antes de utilizar la barredera, es necesario colocar los portillos y las tapas como se indica en el Libro de–
instrucciones.
Durante el funcionamiento de la barredera pueden penetrar cuerpos extraños en los ojos del operario.–
Por ello se deben llevar gafas protectoras adecuadas mientras la utiliza.
Mantenerse atento. Controlar lo que hace y utilice el sentido común. No utilizar la barredera si se siente–
cansado, distraído o está bajo los efectos de estupefacientes, alcohol o fármacos, ya que podría perder el
control.

FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA BARREDERA
Si es necesario, ajustar el manillar (1) en una de las 3 posiciones según su comodidad, con ayuda de las asas (2).1.
Colocar las manos sobre el manillar y empuje la barredera hacia adelante, procediendo a paso normal. La barredera no2.
funciona si se arrastra hacia atrás.


VACIADO DEL DEPÓSITO DE RECOGIDA
Levantar el depósito de recogida con la empuñadura (4) de la parte delantera y vaciar su contenido en un contenedor1.


(8 y 9) para quitar cualquier resto (cordones, alambres, cintas o materiales similares) que pueda comprometer el correcto
funcionamiento.
Para guardar la máquina sin que ocupe demasiado espacio, cerrar el manillar (1).

Volcar el manillar hacia adelante y bloquearlo.–
Para proteger las cerdas de los cepillos, colocar la barredera en posición vertical.

Usar únicamente recambios y accesorios originales de Clarke.


Vaciar el depósito de recogida (3).–
Comprobar que ningún tipo de material permanece adherido a los cepillos o a las ruedas. En caso de encontrar algún–
cuerpo extraño, retirarlo inmediatamente.
Limpiar los cepillos, eliminar los cordones, alambres, cintas o materiales similares. De esta forma, la máquina conservará–


sustituirlas cuando la capacidad de barrido está reducida.

LIMPIEZA DE LA MÁQUINA
Limpiar habitualmente la máquina con un paño húmedo.
¡ADVERTENCIA!
No limpiar la máquina con chorros de alta presión.

REGULACIÓN DE LOS CEPILLOS

Ajustar la altura del cepillo central (9) con ayuda de las dos empuñaduras (7). Al girarlas, cada aumento en los números1.
marcados corresponde a un descenso del cepillo.
Comprobar que las dos empuñaduras (7) están en el mismo número marcado. En caso contrario habría una diferencia de
presión longitudinal en el cepillo.
Ajustar la altura de los cepillos laterales (6) con ayuda de las pomos (5). Al girarlos en sentido contrario a las agujas del2.
reloj, cada aumento corresponde a un descenso de los cepillos.

Desmontaje

con el fondo hacia arriba.

con los cepillos centrales (C).
Prestar atención a la correa motriz (D) del cepillo central
delantero.
Quitar la correa motriz (E, Fig. 2) de su alojamiento en el3.
cepillo central (F).
Quitar el cepillo central (F) y recuperar los tornillos, los4.
soportes y los cojinetes (G) para el posterior montaje.
Montaje
Montar el cepillo central en orden contrario al5.

Instalar el cepillo central con las cerdas orientadas
como se indica (H, Fig. 1).
Instalar y posicionar la correa corta de transmisión
cruzándola como se indica (I, Fig. 2).
Prestar atención al correcto posicionamiento de la
correa larga de transmisión (D, Fig. 1).
Girar las 2 empuñaduras (7) hasta la posición 1.
Una vez concluida la instalación, controlar el funcionamiento
de la barredera, comprobando que los cepillos (13) giran en
sentido correcto.

Desmontaje

Desenroscar los tornillos (A, Fig. 3) y recuperar las2.

montaje.
Quitar la correa de transmisión (D) y retirar el cepillo3.

Montar el cepillo lateral en orden contrario al5.

Instalar la correa de transmisión (F, Fig. 4) como se

¡ATENCIÓN!
Exceptuando los ajustes explicados en el presente manual, el usuario no debe intentar jamás efectuar por su
cuenta las reparaciones.
Las tareas de reparación y de asistencia al cliente las efectuará siempre un técnico autorizado de Clarke.
Las siguientes indicaciones ayudan a localizar las averías y repararlas. Si no fuese posible subsanar el error, deberá ponerse
en contacto con el centro de asistencia.
Problema Probable causa Remedio
 El cepillo central y los laterales se han
regulado a una altura demasiado baja.
Ajustar los cepillos.
Un objeto de grandes dimensiones se ha
quedado enganchado.
Retirar el objeto.
 Un cordel u otro cuerpo extraño se ha
quedado enredado o enganchado en los
cepillos principales.
Quitar el cordel u objeto.
El depósito de recogida está lleno. Vaciar el depósito de recogida.
El cepillo central o los laterales se han
regulado a demasiada altura.
Ajustar los cepillos.
Los cepillos están demasiado gastados. Sustituir los cepillos.
Excesiva acumulación de polvo durante el
funcionamiento.
El depósito de recogida está lleno. Vaciar el depósito de recogida.
La velocidad de barrido es muy elevada. Reducir la velocidad de trabajo.
La barredera deja rastros de polvo. Determinadas clases de polvo se acumulan
en el alojamiento situado en la parte trasera
de los cepillos.
Quitar cualquier polvo que se acumule en el
alojamiento principal.
DESGUACE
Para desechar la máquina, dirigirse a un centro de recogida autorizado.
