ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
MITRE SAW
MODEL No.
MBS550A
1298
Part No. 6470057
HELPFUL HINTS
Mounting
You may prefer to mount the Mitre Saw on a firm foundation - a workbench or
work table, to provide additional support. This is particularly advisable if you are
cutting larger pieces.
Drill suitable holes in the base for this purpose, securing with screws, flat washers
and wing nuts for quick and easy removal, if required.
Cutting Simple Mitres or Bevels
Simple mitres or bevels are cuts made in one plane only. Lift the Locking lever so
that the Carriage may be moved to the desired angle as shown in fig 7.
Fig. 8
General
When cutting, DO NOT force the saw blade as this will lead to distortions and
inaccurate bevels. A very gentle pressure ONLY is required.
Ensure the saw blade is correctly tensioned before use - too slack will allow the
blade to twist, producing innaccurate mitres.
Use the Depth of Cut Stops for accuracy
Setting the Carriage to the angles shown in fig.8, will produce the mitres illustrated.
