SLED–StatusLED.Blinkseverytimeacompletemeasurementcycleis
performedandthevalueisupdated.Serve’sasaheartbeatfor
transmitteroperation.
ELED–ErrorLED.Willlightifanyabnormalconditionsaredetected
withinthedevice,primarilythesensorfallingoutofitsrecommended
operatingspecificationswilltriggerthislamp.
PLED–PowerLED.Willbeoncontinuouslywhenpowerisappliedto
theunit.
Buttons‐TheunithasthreesurfacemountbuttonsabovetheLEDson
thePCB.Theycanbegentlyandcarefullypressedwithyourfinger.
Thesebuttonsallowyoutoaccessallaspectsofsensorsoperationand
testorcalibratedifferentfunctionalmodules.
Standard Operation
TheO2transmitterscomesfactorycalibratedforeasyinstallation.
Duringitslifecyclecalibrationmaybecomeperiodicallynecessary.We
recommendperformingaspanO2calibrationeverymonthfor
guaranteedoperationandensuredaccuracy.Noothercalibrationis
necessaryduringthelifecycleofthesensor.

Entering the Service Menu
Toentertheservicemenuthebuttonsmustbepressedinafactory‐set
order.Thiscodecanbecustomizedbeforeshipmentbutbydefaultwill
be1‐2‐3.Thebuttonsmustbepressedwithinahalfsecondofeach
other,elsetheunitwillreturntostandardoperatingmode.Whenin
theservicemenutheunitwillnotupdatethecurrentO2readings.

Theory of Operation
Thezirconiaoxygensensorutilizessolid‐stateelectrochemical
reactionstoproduceavoltageproportionaltothecurrentoxygen.This
voltageisthendigitalizedandfilteredtoausablevalue.Theoxygen
sensorhasalsobeenfactorycalibratedtomeetspecifications.
Calibration
Thecalibrationprocessvariesdependingonthetypeofunitand
whetherithasoptionaldataloggingfunctionalityornot.Allunitsare
factory‐calibratedwithmultiplereferencepointsofgas,andhavebeen
verifiedtobeaccuratewithintheirspecificfunctionalitybefore
shipment.However,iftheunitisseverelyjoltedorotherwise
mechanicallydisturbed,thesensorcandriftrequiringrecalibration.All
calibrationproceduresfollowasingle‐pointcalibrationroutinethat
effectivelyshiftsthezero‐pointoftheO2sensor.

TheO2sensorcanbecalibratedto0%andthento20.9%.
Duringnormaloperation0%calibrationoftheoxygentransmitter

CalibrationcanalsobeperformedoverMODBUS,seeadditional
documentationforMODBUSregisters.
Calibrationcanbeperformedusingeither0%CO2calibrationgas
(typicallynitrogen,Argon,etc.),orusingafreshsourceofair,assumed
tobeapproximately20.9%O2.
Attachcalibrationgastotheunitandconnecttheunittoapersonal
computer.OpenthecalibrationscreenintheGasLab®software.Click
the“Calibrate”buttoninthecalibrationtabforthedesiredgas,
locatedinthe“ConfigureSensor”screen.Aslongasthegas

value.Thiscanbeconfirmedbywatchingthedisplay.Toseethe
