Model #5085 is shipped with Base completely assembled, Backrest is shipped disassembled with Cover and
Commode Pail is strapped down underneath Base unit.

Adjusting Height for Shower/Commode Chair
When adjusting the Height of your PVC High Back Bariatric Shower/Commode Chair, it will require two (2)
persons.
1. Remove all eight (8) Quick-Release pins from Base unit, (4) in the front and (4) in the back.
2. Once all eight (8) Quick-Release pins are removed, raise the Base to desired height.
3. Re-install all eight (8) Quick-Release pins, ensuring that Quick-release pin is properly locked.

Installing Backrest
1. Install your Backrest Frame into Base, ensuring that the Backrest is inserted all the way down into
frame.
•Make sure back cover is properly fitted, between side frame tubes.
•Lace all four (4) back holding straps on back of chair.
2. Commode Pail is located underneath Chair. To remove Commode Pail, unsnap strap from chair and pull
pail out. Reverse procedure to re-install pail.
3. If you purchased the Footrests option with your Bariatric Chair, use the following procedures for
correct usage:
•Once the patient is seated, pull out the footrest platforms
•Your footrests platform should not be used as a step. This is a Safety Hazard, and may
cause damage to your footrests.

Caster Lock Operations
Your Bariatric Shower/Commode Chair has six (6) 4” Deluxe Casters. Four (4) Deluxe Casters have the
locking mechanism.
1. To engage caster Lock, place foot on caster lock lever and push down.
2. To disengage caster Lock, push up on caster lock lever.
3. Be sure that all caster Locks are engaged before transferring a patient in or out of unit. It is further
suggested that all transfers be performed by at least two (2) care givers to insure safety.

COLUMBIA MEDICAL MFG., LLC warrants this product to be free of defects in material and
workmanship. Our obligation under this warranty is limited to repair or replacement of any part
or entire unit at our option for a period of one year from date of delivery to the original purchaser.
The warranty does not include cost of inconvenience, property damage, misuse, abuse, accident or
similar incidents. The warranty will not apply if product has been tampered with or repaired by
unauthorized individuals. This warranty gives you specific rights which vary from state to state.
