INTENDED USE
The Compex®EMS device is used for:
• The Compex device is intended to stimulate
healthy muscles in order to improve or
facilitate muscle performance.
• The work imposed on the muscles by
the Compex device programs is definetly
not suitable for rehabilitation and
physiotherapy.
The Compex TENS device is intended for:
• Temporary relief of pain associated with
sore and aching muscles due to strain from
exercise or normal household and work
activities.
• The symptomatic relief and management of
chronic, intractable pain and relief of pain
associated with arthritis.
The Compex device is is an Over-The-
Counter device to be used by adults only.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Never use the Compex device on atrophied
muscles, muscles with spasms, or muscles
associated with a limb with a painful or
afflicted joint.
Do not use the Compex device for muscle
reeducation, to prevent or retard disuse
atrophy, to prevent venous thrombosis, to
maintain or increase range of motion, or for
blood flow deficiencies.
Do not use the Compex device if you have
one or more of the following medical
conditions:
• The Compex device must not be used
on persons with cardiac pacemakers,
defibrillators, or other implanted metallic
or electronic devices. Such use could cause
shock, burns, electrical interference, or
death.
• Do not use the Compex device if you have
been diagnosed with epilepsy before
consulting your physician.
• Do not use the Compex device following
acute trauma or fracture, or following
recent surgical procedures.
• Do not use the Compex device if you have
critical ischemia of lower limbs, or other
serious arterial circulation problems in
lower limbs.
• Do not use the Compex device if you have
abdominal or inguinal hernia.
• Do not use the Compex device if you have
cancerous lesions.
• Do not use the Compex device over the
abdominal region during pregnancy.
• Do not use the Compex device if you have
sensitivity problems or unable to express
yourself.

QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read Compex®User Manual thoroughly.
(Available at compex.com)
2. Connect the cables - The color-coded
cables plug into the electrode sockets on
the bottom of the device.
3. Connect the electrodes - Each electrode
cable has a red snap (positive lead) and
a black snap (negative lead). Connect
the lead by snapping the lead on the
electrode.
4. Electrode placement - Position yourself
comfortably in the position shown in the
Electrode Placement Guide.
Place each electrode pad according to the
guide diagram.
5. First time use - Hold down the power
button for 2 seconds, the language menu
will appear. Select your language, set the
date, and time.
6. Push the confirmation button (B) to select
the category, and then select desired
program.

7. Select the appropriate body part, and the
level (recommended to begin at level 1).
Then click Confirmation button (B).
8. Adjust stimulation energy on the multiple
channels by pressing the channel button,
and adjust up or down on the center
navigation wheel.
Stimulation energy is displayed above
the channel button. Increase stimulation
energy upward to the maximum comfort
level and muscle contraction.
CHARGING THE STIMULATOR
Remove all electrode cables connected to
the stimulator before recharging it. Make
certain the charge pin is aligned with the
USB charging cable. See diagram.
Never try to plug in the electrode cables
simultaneously with the USB charging
cable.
