Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Einsetzen in einen ExpressCard-Port eines Notebooks vorgesehen
und stellt dort eine RS232-Schnittstelle zur Verfügung.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die gesetzlichen, nationalen und europäischen Anforderungen.
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der

Installation
Stecken Sie die Karte in korrekter Orientierung in einen ExpressCard-Steckplatz des
Notebooks. Falls Ihr Notebook über mehrere solche Steckplätze verfügt, so ist es nor-
malerweise belanglos, welcher verwendet wird. Beachten Sie die Bedienungsanleitung
zu Ihrem Notebook, wie eine ExpressCard eingesteckt bzw. entnommen wird.
Windows erkennt daraufhin neue Hardware.
Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein.
Zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieser Bedienungsanleitung war der Treiber im
Verzeichnis „Moschip \ MCS9901“ zu finden (und dort im jeweiligen Unterverzeichnis
für das von Ihnen verwendete Betriebssystem, z.B. Windows Vista).
Danach ist ggf. ein Neustart erforderlich, bevor die Karte einwandfrei funktioniert.
☞Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Karte eine „echte“ schnelle ExpressCard ist; sie
basiert nicht auf USB-Technik. Das bedeutet, dass die Karte nicht in einfachen
USB-/ExpressCard-Adaptern funktioniert. Hier erfolgt keine Hardware-
Erkennung von Windows, der Betrieb der Karte ist nicht möglich.
Tipps und Hinweise
• Schließen Sie RS232-Geräte nur dann an die ExpressCard an, wenn der Computer
und die RS232-Geräte ausgeschaltet sind. Andernfalls kann es in Einzelfällen dazu
kommen, dass sowohl RS232-Gerät als auch die ExpressCard beschädigt werden!
• Die Schnittstellenbezeichnung (z.B. COM3) wird von Windows automatisch vergeben.
Entsorgung
Elektrische und elektronische Produkte dürfen nicht in den Hausmüll!
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den gelten-
den gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.

additional interface (RS232).

Installation
Insert the card correctly into an ExpressCard slot on the laptop. If your laptop has seve-
ral ports, it does not matter which of the ports you use. Consult the operating manual for
your laptop i.e. how an ExpressCard should be inserted and removed.
Window will then recognise the new hardware.
Place the CD provided into an appropriate drive on your computer.
At the time of creation of this manual the driver could be found in the folder
„Moschip\MCS9901“ (in the respective operating system folder, such as e.g.
Windows Vista).
It might be necessary to restart your computer, to ensure the correct functioning of the
card.
☞Please note that the card is a „real“ fast ExpressCard; it does not use USB tech-
nology. This means that the card does not work in simple USB/ExpressCard
adapters. The Windows hardware recognition will not be conducted, therefore
operating the card is impossible.
Tips and Instructions
• Only connect RS232 devices to the ExpressCard when the computer and the
RS232 devices are switched off. Otherwise, in some cases, the RS232 device as
well as the ExpressCard might be damaged!
• The interface name (e.g. COM3) is automatically assigned by Windows.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of in the domestic
waste.
When disposing of an unserviceable product, do so in keeping with the rele-
vant statutory regulations.

Installation
Introduisez la carte Express correctement dans un port pour ExpressCard de l’ordina-
teur portable. Si votre ordinateur portable dispose de plusieurs ports, n’importe lequel
peut être utilisé. Les instructionsd’utilisation de votre ordinateur portable indiquent la
façon d’insérer et de retirer une ExpressCard.
Windows détecte automatiquement le nouveau matériel.
Insérez le CD joint dans le lecteur correspondant de votre ordinateur.
Au moment de la rédaction de ce manuel d’utilisation, le pilote se trouvait dans le
répertoire „Moschip\MCS9901“ (et là, dans le sous-répertoire correspondant au sys-
tème d’exploitation utilisé, par ex. Windows Vista).
Il est possible qu’un nouveau démarrage soit nécessaire avant que la carte ne fonc-
tionne correctement.
☞Tenir compte du fait que la carte est une „véritable“ ExpressCard rapide ; elle
n’est pas basée sur la technique USB. Cela signifie que la carte ne fonctionne
pas dans de simples adaptateurs USB/ExpressCard. Il n’y a pas de détection
de Windows, l’utilisation de la carte n’est pas possible.
Conseils et consignes
• Ne connecter les appareils RS232 à l’ExpressCard uniquement lorsque l’ordinateur
et les appareils RS232 sont éteints. Sinon, dans des cas isolés, vous risquez d’en-
dommager non seulement l’appareil RS232, mais aussi l’ExpressCard !
• La désignation de l’interface (par ex. COM3) est affectée automatiquement par
Windows.
Élimination
Les appareils électriques et électroniques ne doivent pas être jetés dans les
ordures ménagères.
Il convient de procéder à l’élimination de l’appareil au terme de sa durée de
vie conformément aux prescriptions légales en vigueur.

Beoogd gebruik
Het product wordt in een ExpressCard-poort van een notebook gestoken en stelt daar
een RS232-interface ter beschikking .
Dit product voldoet aan de voorwaarden van de nationale en Europese wetgeving.

Installatie
Steek de kaart met de juiste kant in een ExpressCard-slot van uw notebook. Als uw
notebook meerdere van dergelijke slots heeft, is het om het even welk slot u gebruikt.
Houd rekening met de gebruiksaanwijzing van uw notebook voor het plaatsen en ver-
wijderen van een ExpressCard.
Windows herkent nu nieuwe hardware.
Plaats de meegeleverde CD in het betreffende station van uw computer.
Op het moment van het opstellen van deze gebruiksaanwijzing was het stuurpro-
gramma in de map „Moschip \ MCS9901“ te vinden (en daar in de respectievelijke
submap voor het door u gebruikte besturingssysteem, bijv. Windows Vista).
Daarna moet Windows eventueel herstart worden voordat de kaart correct zal werken.
☞Let er a.u.b. op, dat de kaart een „echte“ snelle ExpressCard is; deze is niet
gebaseerd op USB-techniek. Dat betekent, dat de kaart niet in eenvoudige
USB-/ExpressCard-adapters functioneert. Hier vindt geen hardware-herken-
ning van Windows plaats, het gebruik van de kaart is niet mogelijk.
Tips en adviezen
• Sluit enkel RS232-apparatuur op de ExpressCard aan, wanneer de computer en de
RS232-apparatuur uitgeschakeld zijn. Anders zou zowel de RS232-apparatuur als
de ExpressCard kunnen worden beschadigd!
• De interfaceomschrijving (bijv. COM3) wordt door Windows automatisch vergeven.
Verwijdering
Elektrische en elektronische producten horen niet bij huishoudelijk afval!
Verwijder het product aan het einde van zijn levensduur volgens de geldende
wettelijke bepalingen.
