Electrical Safety
Connect the heater to a single 230 V,
10A socket only. Do not plug into
double adaptors or multi-outlet power
boards.
Make sure that the heater never comes
into contact with water.
Never position the heater under a power
outlet.
Never turn the heater on if the lead is
damaged or if the heater's casing is
obviously damaged. If the power supply
cord is damaged it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, a service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard.
Do not pull the heater along by the
power cord or place the cord near the
heaters surfaces. Always uncoil the
power cord completely before use. Use
of extension cords is not recommended.
Do not use this heater in the immediate
surroundings of a bath, a shower or a
swimming pool. If the heater is to be
used in a bathroom, ensure that
switches and other controls cannot be
touched by a person in the bath or
shower.
Do not use the heater with a separate
timer to turn the heater on. Always turn
the heater off and unplug from the
power socket when not in use.

reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction in using
the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
Do not poke anything through the
ventilating slits.
Always use the heater in an upright
position. Stand it on a firm, solid,
horizontal base (not on thick pile
carpets).
Leave nothing hanging above or in front
of the heater (e.g. clothes, curtains,
bedding, fabrics). Be sure that the front
grille & back panel vent slots on the
heater are uncovered otherwise it will
overheat. Clean these openings at
regular intervals to prevent airflow
reduction (refer Maintenance section).
The heater surfaces are hot
when in use. To avoid burns, keep bare
skin away from the top ventilation
outlets. Leave plenty of room around
the heater.
Do not use this heater outdoors, or on
wet surfaces. Do not use the heater
near flammable areas or substances.

ASSEMBLY
Assembly Instructions
Unpack the heater and make sure it is
undamaged and all components are
present.
Turn the heater upside down and
assemble the two leg supports by
unscrewing and then refixing with the
screws in the base as shown (Fig. 1)
Your Convair heater is excellent in
providing spot heating throughout your
home. It should not be considered as a
centralized heating unit for your whole
house.
Your heater’s controls are shown below
(Fig. 2 & 3).

Safety Device
To avoid overheating problems the in-
built safety device will interrupt
electricity if the heating element
becomes too hot. The heater will then
return to stand-by mode.
If this should happen:
•Check that the heater is positioned
correctly, not close to any furnishings.
•See that there is no dust or other
obstacles blocking the front grille or vent
slots.
•Clean the front grille & vent slots if
necessary.
The heater is also equipped with a ‘tip-
over’switch, which will turn off power to
the heater elements if it should fall over.

ASSEMBLY
Assembly Instructions
Unpack the heater and make sure it is
undamaged and all components are
present.
Turn the heater upside down and
assemble the two leg supports by
unscrewing and then refixing with the
screws in the base as shown (Fig. 1)
Your Convair heater is excellent in
providing spot heating throughout your
home. It should not be considered as a

Safety Device
To avoid overheating problems the in-
built safety device will interrupt
electricity if the heating element

If this should happen:

OPERATION cont. MAINTENANCE
•Pressing the “+ UP”and “- DOWN”
buttons to adjust the set time by 1 hr
increments up to 23 hrs. You can
change the time remaining at any point
repeating the above steps.
•Leave at the desired time. The
heater’s display will alternate between
showing the TIME REMAINING and the
ROOM TEMP every 10 seconds. The
timer will begin to count down until the
heater turns itself off.
•To cancel the timer, set the time to
“00”.
To maximise the efficiency of the heater,
clean the inlet and outlet grilles
regularly.
•Unplug the heater from the mains
power supply before cleaning.
•Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the
outside. Never use thinners or other
strong chemicals on the heater
surfaces.
•Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt
and dust from the front grille & back
panel vent slots.
•Ensure the heater is dry before
plugging back into the mains power
supply.
•Press the “POWER”button on the
unit or the remote control to change the
temperature from LOW (2 bars), MED(4
bars) or HIGH (6 bars).
•Turn the heater OFF by pressing the
“ON/OFF”button at any time.
Your heater will operate most efficiently
when utilising the thermostat to turn
your heater off when your desired heat
setting is reached. To operate your
thermostat:
•Press the “SETTING”button on the
unit or “SET”button on the remote
control TWICE. The current setting will
flash (eg 25°C)
•Select the temperature setting you
want by using “+ UP”and “- DOWN”
buttons on the unit or remote. You can
select in the range of 15°-35°C.
•When the room temperature is
below the selected set temperature, the
unit will heat the room. If the room is
above the set temperature, the heat
element will turn off.
Do not set the thermostat
temperature too high. This will
consume more power. 23°C is the
recommended set temperature.
The TIMER function can be used to turn
the heater OFF automatically.
•Press the “SETTING”button on the
unit or “SET”button on the remote
control.
“00 H”will appear on the timer display.

Turning the power on
•Insert the plug into the power outlet.
•Turn the power switch located near
the power cord to “ON”. The heater will
“beep”and the POWER INDICATOR
light on the control panel will illuminate.
•Remove the battery cover and install
the button type battery supplied.
•When the heater’s power is on, the
remote control can be used to operate
the heater from up to 6m away.
Note: if there are two or more heaters
within this distance, both will be
operated by the same remote control.
•Turn the heater ON by pressing the
“ON/OFF”button on the unit or the
remote control (see Fig 2 & 3). The
room temperature will be displayed on
the LCD display (Fig 2).

Turning the power on

means you, the original end-user purchaser of the Goods;
means the authorised distributor or retailer of the Goods that sold you the
Goods in Australia; and
means the product, unit, appliance or equipment which was accompanied
by this warranty and purchased in Australia.
Our Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian
Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and
for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are
also entitled to have the Goods repaired or replaced if the Goods fail to be of
acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
In addition to any rights and remedies that You may have under the Australian
Consumer Law or any other law, subject to the terms of this warranty, We provide
the following warranty:
1. If, during the first 24 months from the date of first retail purchase (
), the Goods upon examination prove defective by reason of improper
workmanship or material, We will replace the Goods or any part thereof without
charge. We may substitute any similar good even if it is not on our current
price/equipment list.
2. We are under no obligation to replace the Goods under clause 1 if the Goods
have not been used only for personal, domestic or household purposes and have
not been installed/mounted (if relevant), operated, and maintained in accordance
with the instructions in the Owner's Manual. The addition of any third party
device or the removal or the alteration of any of our components will void this
warranty. In addition, the warranty granted under clause 1 does not apply to:
•Adjustments necessary due to misuse of the appliance,
•Normal user maintenance,
•Setting of controls,
•Transit damage, or
•Damage caused by user misuse, tampering, or failure to observe the care
and special provisions in the instructions.
3. The warranty granted under clause 1 is limited to replacement only. As far as the
law permits, We will not be liable for any consequential loss suffered through, or
resulting from, the non operation, or ineffective operation of the Goods. The
warranty granted under clause 1 does not cover damage to the Goods or other
loss resulting from acts of God.

4. No other person, firm or corporation is authorised by us to offer or give on our
behalf any other or greater warranty than that given under this warranty. The
benefits conferred by this warranty are in favour of You and any person deriving
title to the goods through or under such person and are intended to be separate
from and additional to all other rights and remedies that they may have in law in
respect of the goods.
5. We are not responsible in any way for any failure and/or inadequate performance
of the Goods which arises from or is connected to the use in the Goods of non-
genuine spare parts. We strongly recommend that only spare parts supplied or
approved by us are used in the Goods.
6. In order to claim under the warranty granted under clause 1 You must within the
Warranty Period return the Goods to the Supplier at the place of purchase
together with the proof of purchase.
7. Alternatively, you may claim under the warranty granted under clause 1 by within
the Warranty Period returning the Goods to us at the address below together
with: (i) a covering letter which states your name and address, daytime
telephone number, and model and serial number of the goods, (ii) the legible and
unmodified proof of purchase, which clearly indicates the name and address of
the original retailer, the date and place of purchase, and the product name or
other product serial number, and (iii) a copy of the completed Warranty
Information below.
8. This warranty does not cover the cost of claiming under the warranty, it is your
responsibility to cover all forwarding and freight costs incurred in returning the
Goods to the Supplier at the place of purchase or us.
9. This warranty is only valid and enforceable in Australia.
Our liability under this warranty is limited to the extent permitted by law. That is, to
the extent that it is fair and reasonable, if the Goods are not of a kind ordinarily
acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, your remedies
associated with any failure or defect of the Product will be limited to:
(a) the replacement of the Goods or the supply of equivalent goods;
(b) the repair of the Goods;
(c) the payment of the cost of replacing the Goods or of acquiring equivalent
goods; or
(d) the payment of the cost of having the Goods repaired
and subject to the terms and conditions included in this warranty.
