• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow the item to cool thoroughly before putting on or taking off parts.

its condition.

• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not use this appliance for any other use than the intended use it is
designed for.
• Before use, check thoroughly for any defects and do NOT use if defects
are found. Take care not to drop the appliance as heavy impacts may
cause internal damage.
• Do not use this machine in damp, wet or poorly lit locations. Don’t
expose to rain. Keep work area well lit. Do not use electricity powered
tools in the presence of flammable gases
or liquids.
• When not in use, tools must be locked up in a dry location
to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach
of children.
• Do not force the drill bit it will do the job better and more safely at the
rate for which it was intended. Do not use inappropriate attachments in
an attempt to exceed the
tool’s capabilities.
• Unplug when not in use, before servicing and when
changing parts.

• Always wear eye and ear protection when using this machine.
• Disconnect plug when not in use.
OPERATION:
• Place the sharpener on a
flat, sturdy surface and plug
into mains.
• Select a clean drill bit to be
sharpened and match its size
with one of the holes in the
head of the sharpener.
• Put the bit into the
appropriate hole and turn the
unit on (1)
• Exert a slight downward
pressure onto the drill bit and
rotate the bit back and forth
for about 20 seconds while
sharpening.
• Depending on the drill bit
being used you may need to
adjust the height of the
grinding wheel using the
turning knob (2). Turn the
adjusting knob clockwise to
raise the wheel. This will give
you an aggressive cutting
action. This is also useful
when you are working with
short drill bits. Turn the
adjusting knob anti-clockwise
if you want a finer ground
edge. This process will take
longer and may require more
repetitions. This is useful
however when working with
longer drill bits.
• Turn unit off and examine the bit in accordance with the ‘Sharpening
Troubleshooting’ section.
• Repeat the above steps to the other side of the bit. Sharpen both sides of the
drill bit for the same amount of time using the same amount of pressure.
• Repeat the above steps as necessary to sharpen the bit.
SHARPENING TROUBLESHOOTING:
• If the tip of the drill bit turns blue, it is overheating.
Reduce the amount of pressure and sharpening
time. Cool the drill bit in water, before continuing
make sure bit is dry.
• If one edge is longer than the other, and the point is
not centred, sharpen the shorter side for a little
longer. To prevent this from happening sharpen both
sides the same amount of time applying the same
amount of pressure.
DISPOSAL
• Dispose of all paper, cartons and plastic in
accordance with your local recycling regulations. At
the end of the product’s lifespan please dispose of it
at an authorised household waste recycling centre.
