performanceandbatterylife..UsingCovert
2300mAh,NiMHrechargeableAAbatteriescan
extendthebatterylifesignificantly.
Installthebatteriesbyslidingthetopbatteryinto
thesleevefirst,thendepressingthespringwiththe
otherbatteryandsnappingdowninplace.Pay
attentiontothe(+)or(‐)moldedintoeachsleeveto
determineifyouinsertthepositiveornegativeend
intothesleevefirst.Negativebatteryterminal
alwayscontactsthespring.

installaSDcardintheslotinthebottomofthe
camera.Seefigure3belowforcardorientation.
Pushintothecardslotuntilitclicksandrelease.To
remove,repeatthatprocess,thecardwillpopout
enoughtoremove.YoucanuseanySDcardsizeup
to16G.YoumusthavetheSDcardinthecamerato
beabletoturnthecameraonandsetitup

Customizingthecamerasettings
Yourcameraissettofunctionwiththedefault
settingswithoutanyfurthercustomization.
However,youwilllikelywanttoatveryleastsetthe
clockanddate.Thefollowinginformationwillhelp
youcustomizeyourcamerasettingssoyoucanget
themostoutofthetrailcameraexperience.
Tostart,PresstheMENUbuttononcetoopenthe
customizationmenus.WewillstartwiththeCAM
systemtab.YouwillseeCAM,PIR,andSYStabs
acrossthetopofthescreen.CAMshouldbe
highlightedinwhite.(Fig5)

Settingthecameramode:
Pressthe▼buttontoentertheCameraMode
option.EitherPhotoorVideowillshowupina
whitebox.Pressthe►buttontotogglebetween
PhotoorVideountiltheoptionyouwantshowsin
thewhitebox.PressOKtosavethissetting.The
whiteboxwillturnredtoindicateit’ssaved.
NOTE:IfyoudonotpressOK,yoursettingwill
returnbacktotheprevioussetting.
Cameramodesettings:
PHOTOSIZE:Pressthe▼or▲buttontoenterthe
PhotoSizeoption.
Pressthe►arrowrepeatedlytotogglebetween
3mp,5mp,and6mp.PressOKoncethedesired
optionshowsinthewhitebox.Again,theboxwill

SENSITIVITY:Theremaybesituationswhereyou
mightfeelthecameraisnotcatchinganimalsthat
arenearbyormaybethecameraistriggeringtoo
easily.Youcanadjustthesensitivityofyourcamera
tohelpwiththis.Undermostconditions,the
NORMALoptionwillworkthebest.Inhigh
temperatures,theHIGHsettingmighthelp
differentiatebetweentheoutsidetempsandthe
bodytempsoftheanimal.Incoldconditions,you
mayfindthattheLOWoptionisbestasthecamera
caneasilydifferentiatetheoutsidetempsfromthe
bodytempsofthesubject.Ifyouareusingthetime

TIP:Youcanpressandholdthe◄or►buttonto
speedthroughthesettingsratherthanrepeatedly
pressingthebutton.

TIMELAPSE:Pressthe▼▲arrowtoenterthe
Time‐Lapseoption.Thisoptionallowsyourcamera
toautomaticallytakeaphotowithoutbeing
triggeredbythePIR.Ifyoualreadysetthe
SensitivitytoOFF,thenthecamerawillonlytake
photoswhentheTime‐Lapseoptionison.Ifyou
havethePIRsettoLOW,NORMAL,orHIGH,the
camerawillalsotakephotoswhenthePIRis
triggered.ToturntheTime‐LapseoptionON,use
the►◄buttonstochooseatimeoption.5‐60
seconds(in5secondincrements)and2‐60minutes.
Onceyouhavechosenthetimeoptionyouwant,
pressOKtosavethesetting.Thecamerawill
continuouslytakephotosintimedincrementsyou
set.
NOTE:Remember,thiswillgeneratealotof
photosandyoumaywanttocheckmore
frequentlyasitwillfilltheSDcardupfast.Use
maxsizeSDcardforbestperformance.

camerawithoutthepassword.Thisisavery
importantsecurityfeature.Toturnthepassword
On,pressthe►buttontotoggletoONandpress
OK.Youwillseethefollowingscreen.(Fig12).
Usethe▲▼ and►buttonstosetthepassword.
PressOKtosavethesettings.Whenyouturnyour
camerabackon,youwillneedtousethe▲▼►
buttonstoenterthepassword,thenpressOK.
OVERWRITE:TheOverWritefunctionwillsave
newphotosovertheoldphotosonyourSDcardifit
becomesfull.Eachtimeanewphotoistakenthe
oldestphotoonthecardwillbeoverwritten.
ThedefaultforthisoptionisOFF.Ifyouwantto
changethis,Pressthe▼buttontoentertheOver

Formatoptionisentered.PresstheOKbutton.

DEFAULTSET:TheDefaultSetoptionisthelast
optionintheSYStab.Ifyouwanttostartcleanand
re‐setallthesettingstotheoriginalfactorydefault
settingsyouwillchoosethisoption.Pressthe▼
buttontoentertheDefaultSetoption.PressOK.
Makesure100%thatyouwanttore‐setallthe
settingstofactorydefaultasyouwillhavetostart
overwiththeprocessinre‐doingallthesettings.

Viewingphotosonthecolordisplay:
Youcanviewyourphotosonthecolordisplaywhen
inthefield.Ifyouwanttodothis,makesurethe
SelectorswitchissettoSETUP.PresstheOK
button.Youcanusethe▲▼buttonstotoggle
