Inthe eventthattheenginedoesnotstartonthefirstattempt,thesystemshutsdownforafewseconds,and
thenattemptstorestarttheenginea2nd and 3rd time.For hard startingengines,theunitwill allowastarter
cranktime ofupto10secondsmaximum.Thisshouldprovideamplecranking timefordifficultstarts,butis
limited to13secondstohelppreventdamagetothestarter fromovercranking.
1)Ifenginestartson2nd or 3rd attempt, seesteps4&5aboveof"SuccessfulStart".
2)IfThirdattemptfailstostart engine,thesystemwill turnoff anddoorswill remainlocked.

ENTERINGYOUR REMOTESTARTEDVEHICLE:
1)Withengine running, RemoteUnlocksystem(If equipped) or open door withkey.
2)Entervehicleandbecarefulnottostep on brakepedal!(RemoteStart Reset).
3)Turn Ignition toON/RUNposition, thenpressbrakepedaltoresettheRemoteStarter &Shift outofpark.
4)Remotestarter will resetinstantlywhenthe brakeispressed.Parking lightswill turn off and theignition key
isnowcontrollingyour vehicle.
REMOTESTART RUN TIMERESET:
Youcan nowreset theengine-runtimertoallowfor morerunning time afterremotestarthasalreadyoccurred
usingtheremotecontrol. Afterasuccessfulremotestart,pressboththeLock&Unlockbuttonstogether forat
least2seconds.Theparking lightswill flash3timesand internalengine timerwill resetbacktozerominutes.
REMOTEENGINESTARTINGCont. (IDLEDOWNMODE)
IDLEDOWNMODE:
Thismode allowstheunittotakeoveroperation ofthe parked vehiclewhilethe ignitionkeyisremovedand
youexitthevehicle.Thevehicleisputintoaremoterunningconditionbefore youexitanditwillremain
runningforthe programmed runtimeor until youcomeback.
Examples:
·You pull up to aconveniencestore for aquick stop, "Idle Down"mode keeps engine running when you exitthe
vehicle, (with keysinhand) remote lock doors or armalarm. When you return, unlock, turn ignitionON and drive
away.

1)Withvehicleenginerunning withkey,**press theRemoteStartbutton foratleasta1/2second or twiceif

3)Doorswill unlock, orifbrakepedalisbeing depressed,doorswillunlockwhen it isreleased.
4)Turn OFFIgnition andremovekey.Engine shouldremainrunning.
5)Exitvehicle,thenremotelockdoorsifdesired.
6)Enginewill remainrunning forprogrammed run time oruntil youreturn(whichevercomesfirst).

ENTERING AVEHICLEDURING “IDLE-DOWN”or“INFINITYRUN”MODES:
1.Withengine runningin"IDLEDOWN"(parking lightsON),unlockdoorviaremoteor key.
2.Entervehicleandbecarefulnottostep on brakepedal!(RemoteStart Reset)
3.Turn IgnitiontoON/RUN position,then depress brakepedaltoresetthe RemoteStarter.Parking lights
will turnoff indicatingtheRemoteStart isOFFandVehicleisrunning bythe Key. Driveawayasnormal
INFINITYRUNMODE
Thismode canonlybeactivated when"IdleDown"procedure.The InfinityRun mode allowsthevehicle
engine toremainrunning INDEFINITELYafter theprogrammed runtime elapses.Thismode will allowthe
vehicletobeleftrunning andunattended without theignitionkeyintheswitchpreventingthevehiclefrom
beingstolen.Thismode can bebeneficialtolawenforcementor commercialtrucksthatneed toremain
runningunattendedfor longperiodsof time. Seenext pagefor Infinitymodesteps.

INFINITYRUNMODE–EXITINGTHEVEHICLE:
1)Withvehicleengine runningwiththe key,**press theRemoteStartbuttonfor atleast1/2second,pausea
fewseconds,then press andreleasetheremotestart button asecond time.
2)Parking Lightswill startflashing,anddoorswill unlock.
3)Turn Ignition switchOFF,removekeyand exit the vehicle. Engineshouldremainrunning.
4)The vehicle’sparkinglightswillflashforthe programmed runtime of12,24,or36,or48minutesand then
switchtosolidwhilemotorrunsindefinitelyoruntil fuelsupplyrunsout.
SELECTABLEHOURLYCOLD-STARTMODE(1- 4HOURS)
Thismode allowsthe vehicletobe programmed toself-startevery1,2,3or 4hoursandrun for the
programmed run time.Thiscanbehelpfulduring extremelycoldconditionswhereenginefluidfreeze-up isa
concern. THEVEHICLEMUSTBEOUTDOORSORINAWELLVENILATEDAREA! Oncethismode isset,
the unitwill startattheprogrammed hourlyintervaland run forthe programmedrun time.Toresetthismode,
startthevehiclewiththekeyorthe remotecontrol.
SELECTABLEHOURLYCOLD-STARTMODE–EXITINGTHEVEHICLE:
1)Engineshouldberunning withthe Key.** Press the RemoteStartbuttonfor atleast1second.Lightswill
turnonsignaling the remotestart hasturned on anddoorswill unlock.
2)Within10 secondspressandreleasethe valet/programbuttononcefor eachhourlyincrement(1 time=
1hour,2X=2hours,3X=every3hours, 4X=every4hours).
3)Parking Lightswill turnoncethebuttonispressedandflashfor eachconsecutivebutton press.
4)Turn Ignition switchOFF,removekeyand exit the vehicle. Engineshouldremainrunning.
5)Onceoutside thevehicle,press andreleasethe remotestartbutton toturn off engine.The parking lights
will flashthenumberoftimesindicating the hourlyincrement forconfirmation.
6)The vehiclewill startbyitselfatthe selectedhourlyincrementuntil drivenwithkeyor startedviatheremote
control.

TURBOTIMERMODE(OPTIONAL)
The optionalTurboTimer modeallowstheEZEESTARTsystemtokeep aTurboorTurbo Dieselvehicle
runningfor 1to5minutes[selectively]afteryou removethekey,exitthevehicle,andlockthe doorsremotely.
Thisishandyfor turbo cool-downwithouttheneedforexpensiveturbotimers.Thismode requirestheuseof
an extrapart calledamomentaryswitch/buttonthatisnotincluded withthekit. Checkwithyour installerabout
adding thisfeature.
NOTE:The turbo timerbutton will alsotriggeraremotestartifitisinadvertentlypressedwhen the vehicleis
notrunning. Pleasenotethiswhen installing thebuttonandchoosealocationoutofharm’sway.
1)Engineshouldberunningwiththekey.
2)Press andholddownthe brakepedal.
3)Press your“TurboTimer”button1to5timesforeachminuteofruntimeyoudesire. (1press=1min.)
4)Asyou releasethebrakepedaland your systemwill confirmbyflashing thelightsthesamenumberof
timesthebutton waspressed.
5)Turn IgnitionswitchOFF,removekeyand exitthevehicle.Remotelockyourdoorsfor safety.The engine
shouldremainrunning fortheselected numberof minutes.

CONVENIENCEAND SAFETYFEATURES
KEYLESS ENTRY(POWERDOORLOCK CONTROL,Optional)
Thissystem enables youto remotelylockandunlock thevehicle’s doors (ifequipped withpower locks) viaremote
controlfor safety andconvenience. Note:Thisfeaturemay require extra labor and/or parts to install.Press theLock
or Unlock transmitter buttonas youleave or come near the vehicle. Parkinglights will flashonce forlock andtwice for
unlock. If vehicleis running by the remotestart system, the lights willflash, but returnback to solid.
AUTOLOCK/UNLOCK(Improved)
TheAuto Lock feature controlswhether thedoors willautomaticallylock/unlock onyourvehiclewhendrivingor with
turning theIgnitionON/OFF. IftheAuto Lock feature isturned on,andyoursystemisin“Tach”mode, thenthedoors
shouldautomatically lock as theengineRPM increase (driving). If theAuto Lock feature isturned on,andyoursystem
isin“Smart Tachless” mode, thenthedoors willlock a few secondsafter the Ignitionis turned on.WhentheAuto Lock
featureisturned on,thesystem willalways unlock thedoors whenthe Ignitionisturnedoff. Withthisfeature turned
OFF, thesystem willnot automaticallylock or unlock thevehicle. See yourinstaller for programminginformationon
this feature.
DOORLOCK NOTE: If yoursystemhasbeen setup withan optionalstarterkill relay, but you do not havepowerdoorlocks,
notethe following: The lock and unlockbuttonson the remotecontrolmuststill be utilized tooperatethe Starterdisable.

REMOTEPANIC(UsedonlywithOptional HORN HONK featureinstallation)
For personalsafety thisunit now includes a panic feature. Tosoundthe vehicle car horn,press the LockButtononthe
remote formorethan2seconds. Thevehiclehornwillhonkalongwithflashingparkinglamps for1minute. Reset
Remote Panic by pressing either the lock or unlock button.See next sectionfor HornHonk information.
HORN CHIRP/HONKOUTPUT(Optional:withHornconnection&programming)
Thisfeature, ifinstalled, willprovide audibleconfirmationchirps from thefactoryhornforlock andunlock. Whenusing
thisfeature, pressingtheLock/Unlock buttona2nd time within3-7 seconds or singlepress lock/unlock willprovide a
hornchirp for audibleconfirmation.Thesystem canalso be programmed toprovide 3chirps whenaremote startis
requested using the remote. Note: Hornhonk/chirp feature may require extra labor and/or parts to install.
REMOTETRUNK RELEASE ORDOMELIGHTILLUMINATION(Optional)
ThisEZEESTART system includes anoutput that canbe programmed to remotelyrelease afactory electronictrunkor
illuminate theinterior lightwhenyouunlock yourvehiclefor lighted entry at night. If youhave the optionaltrunkpop
installed, simplypress andrelease theTrunkButton#3 onthetransmitter or ifoption#6isturnedonyoumust press
Button#3twice within3seconds,toremotelyopen trunk.If yoursystem isprogrammed forDomeLightillumination,
thenitwill work automatically lightingthedome lightfor 30 seconds whenyouunlock yourvehicleviatheremote. The
dome lightwillturnoffafter 30 seconds, or turningthekeyon(whichevercomesfirst). ThetrunkPop or DomeLight
Illuminationmay require extra labor and/orparts to install.
CONVENIENCEAND SAFETYFEATURES
VALETMODE/ STARTERDISABLEOVERRIDE
Beforeservicing yourvehicleor handing the keysover toaValetwerecommend putting the unitintovalet
mode.TheremotestartfunctionWILLNOToperatewheninValetmode.Toenter Valetmode,turn the key
tothe ONposition,press andholdProgram/Valetswitchfor5-6seconds.TheLEDwill turnonsolidand the
systemisnowinvalet. PerformthisprocedureagaintoexitofValetmode.The keyless entrywill still function
normallywhileinvaletmode.Intheeventofalostorbroken transmitter,performthissteptooverridethe
Starter Disable(if installed).
ANTI-GRIND/ STARTERDISABLE(Optional,relaynotincluded)
ThisOptionalfeaturepreventstheuserfromaccidentallygrinding thestarterifthe Ignitionkeyisturnedtoo fartothestart
positionwhileengine isalreadyrunning fromthe remotestarter.TheAnti-Grind/StarterDisablerequiresthe useofan external
relay. Thissystemmust be programmed toallowthe relaytoworkasastarterdisable.
Driver’sDoorPriority ForRS-55DPonly (Optional, additionalpartmaybeneeded.)
When usingtheoptionalseparatedriver’sandpassengerunlockfunction,pressandreleasebutton#2

(Unlocksymbol)onthetransmitter tounlockdriver’sdoor only,thenpressthe #2buttonagainwithin2-4
secondstounlockremaining doors.Thisfeatureisoptionaland requiresadditionalpartsand/orlabor.
HOODOPENSAFETY(Requires groundinghoodpininstallation)
PreventstheenginefrombeingRemoteStartedwhenhood isopenandwillshutOFFtheengineifopened
during whileremotestarted.Eliminatesriskofinjurytosomeone working under the hoodofthevehiclewitha
properlyworking hoodpininstalled.IfRemoteStartbutton ispressed withthehoodopen,the lightswill flash
onceand the unitwill notattempt astart.
BRAKEPEDALRESET
Preventsstarting orshutsoff aremotestartedvehiclewhen thiscircuitisactiveoractivated.Preventsunauthorized tampering.
Thiscircuitshutsthe systemdownimmediatelywhen brakepedalispressed ifthe keyisnotinignition and turned tothe ON
position.
OEMALARMINTERFACE
Thisfeatureisdesigned toDisarmand Re-armFactoryequipped securitysystemsinconjunction withremotestartandkeyless
entry(ifneededforyourvehicle).Thisfeaturewill maintaintheoriginalintegrityand securityofyourvehicle’sfactoryequipped
systemsbefore, during,orafterremotestart.
NOTE:
When changing,charging,orjumpstarting the vehicle’sbatterywerecommend removing the mainpower
fuseslocatedonthe heavygauge REDwiresnear theremotestart module.
TRANSMITTERPROGRAMMING
Note: All transmittercodesmustbelearnedattimeofprogramming!! Theunitwilllearnsupto4
differenttransmittercodes.
1.OpenHood(Ifnohoodpininstalledwithyour system,then youmust groundthe BlueHoodpinwire).
2.Turn keytothe ONposition.
3.Press Programmingbutton4times,thenafterafewsecondstheunit flashesthe parkinglights4times.
4.Press button #1 on thetransmitter tobecoded.Youshouldget2lightflashesindicatingtheunitiswaiting
for a2
nd code,thenpress button #1 on thesecondtransmitter,the unitwill flash3timesindicating its
waitingfor the 3rd code and soon.Ifall 4codesare learned,theunitwill automaticallyexitcode learning
mode,otherwiseturnkeyoff and closehood. See diagrambelow.

2-VEHICLEOPERATION
Asingleremote cancontroltwo differentvehicles EZEESTART systems installed. However, both systemsmust be
the same type. EZ-45DP/55DP are onlycompatible with each other.
Programming:
You must first Programmingyour remote for2nd vehicleoperation:
(2nd Vehicle Programming and Operation instruction):
Instep #4of transmitter programming(seepage 11)press andholdmiddlebutton#5 for 2sec., thenpress thelock
button, parking light willflashindicating the remote is programming.
Operation:
Press vehicle#2 button(middlebutton)for 2sec.andwithin3seconds press anyof the4functionbuttonsonyour
remote. Youcankeeppressingfunctionbuttons to controlcar #2 as longas itiswithinthe 3-secondwindow. After 3

seconds have elapsed, the remote willrevert back to Car #1operation.
TROUBLESHOOTING:“BEFOREYOUCALL”SECTION
UNITWILLNOTATTEMPTASTART(KEYLESS ENTRYSTILLFUNCTIONSNORMALLY):
The unitisinValetmode.Turn IgnitionON,press andholdvalet/programming buttonfor 6secondsthen turn
keyoff.Unitisnowoutofvaletmodeand shouldperformaremotestart.If optionalLEDindicator isinstalled,
thenitwill be on solidwhen inValet andOFF whenoutof Valet.
UNITFLASHES LIGHTSONCEAND WILLNOTATTEMPTASTART:
The unitsensesafaultatthe Brake(Purplewireisactive) ortheHoodisOPEN(Bluewiregrounded).Thisis
asafetyfeatureofthe unit. Checkinstallationforfaultsandmakesurehood isclosedandlatchedandbrake
wire isnot active.Makesure hood isingood conditionand isdepressed when hood isclosed.
TROUBLESHOOTINGcont.
NO RESPONSE FROMREMOTETRANSMITTERS:(4Parts)
1.Checkforproperpower/ground wiringconnectionsat module.
2.CheckAntennaModuleconnection. Theantennamoduleincludedwiththissystemmustbe pluggedin.
3.Transmittersmayneedtobeprogrammed totheunit. See transmitterprogramming stepsonPage 11.
4.Checktransmitter Batteriesandreplaceif necessary.
UNITCRANKSVEHICLEBUTENGINENEVERSTARTS:(2 parts)
1.Inextremecoldorsevereweatherconditions,theunitmaytakemore thanthefirstattempttostartthe
vehicle. Theremotestartunitwill makeupto3attemptstostarttheengine.
2.Insomevehicles,there maybeaFactoryanti-theft systemthatwill notallowthe engine torun withoutthe
keyinthe ignition.Thesesystemsmayinclude FactorySecurityModules,GMPasskey®/Passlock®,and
RFTransponder systems(FordP.A.T.S.®).Manylate1990’sthrough2005 vehiclesinclude sometypeof

Anti-Theft systemwhichmayrequireabypass module.Checkwithyour installertomakesurethatthe
bypass device(ifequipped) isfunctioning properly.
SYSTEMISUNSUCCESSFULATREMOTESTARTDURINGEXTREMECOLDCONDITIONS:
Pleasebe aware thatduringsub-freezing conditionsyour remotestarter maytakemore thatone attemptto
startoritmaynotsuccessfullystartthevehicleafter3attempts.During theseconditionsthe vehiclemaynot
properlystarteven usingthe key;thereforetryingtostart bytheremotewouldalsobe unsuccessful.

1.Many1995-UPGeneralMotorscars/trucksrequire asecondaryignition circuitfor the Transmission
computer andotheronboardsystems.Ifthe vehicleisstartedwithoutthiswire energized,theremaybe a
“CheckEngine” or“ServiceEngineSoon” lightonthedash.Thismaycausedamageif thevehicleisdriven
inthiscondition.Checkwithinstaller tosee ifthiscircuitispresentand hasbeen properlyconnected tothe
system.
2.Insomecases[commonlyNissan vehicles],anadditional“Start”(Cranking) circuitisrequiredforthe
vehicletorunproperly.The EZEESTARTsystemincludesawirethatcanbe used for thisStarter #2
circuit. Checkwithyourinstaller for details.
BATTERYREPLACEMENT
Toreplace thebattery: Simplyremovethe screwsonbackofthetransmitter andopenthe case.Remove
the batteryand replace. Thereplacement batteryforall transmittersisGP23A.
