Crown Berman FS Series User manual

Berman Safes FS Series
Thank you for choosing a Berman Safe - FS Series. Before operating your new safe, please read the user manual to ensure optimum performance.
1. FIRST TIME OPENING THE SAFE
a. Lift the bottom of the square
plate plate P on Diagram 1
shown below - next to the
fingerprint sensor), then the
top, to remove plate.
b. Insert the key into the lock
and turn clockwise to open
the door.
2. INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
The safe requires 4 AA 1.5V/LR6)
batteries included). Remove the
battery cover located on the inside
of the door) and install the batteries
into the compartment. Make sure
that the batteries are fitted in the
right position to match the polarity.
Close the battery compartment.
Use of alkaline batteries is recommended.
3. PROGRAMMING YOUR FINGER
The safe can be opened by any
finger that has previously been
setup. To register your finger:
a. With the door open, press the
green button located on the
top of the door. The front light
will turn yellow and the
fingerprint reader is ready to
capture.
b. Place your finger on the
fingerprint reader within 5
seconds. Please register the
same finger three times. When
the front light turns green,
your fingerprint has been
successfully registered.
If the light turns red and you
hear 3 beeps, the registration
failed. Please try again.
IMPORTANT:
•To enhance the fingerprint
identification rate, we
recommend the same finger is
programmed 3 or more times,
from different positions, as
shown in Diagram 2 of the user
manual.
•We also suggest that you
register 2 fingers for each hand
programmed.
•To avoid fingerprint reading
failure, we recommend
cleaning your finger with a dry
cloth before placing it on the
reader. Also, keep the reader
clean from grease and
humidity.
•Always keep your finger steady
and press your fingertip when
scanning.
•The little finger is not
recommended to be used for
fingerprint identification.
•Avoid bright lighting exposure
on the top of the fingerprint
reader.
NOTE:
The safe can record up to 100
fingerprints.
4. USING THE SAFE
To open the safe:
a. Press the button located on
the right side of the
fingerprint reader. The yellow
light will turn on, indicating
that the reader is ready to
operate.
b. Place your registered fingertip
on the fingerprint reader
within 5 seconds. If the
fingerprint is valid, the light
will turn green and the door
will open automatically. If the
authentication fails, the light
will turn red and you will hear
3 beeps.
To close the safe:
Close the door and press the button
to the right side of the fingerprint
reader. The door will lock itself
automatically.

IMPORTANT:
The safe can only be operated
using the same locking system.
For example, if you opened the
safe electronically, you need to
lock it the same way. And if you
opened the safe with the key, it
should be locked with the key as
well.
. DELETING ALL FINGERPRINT
RECORDS
While the safe door is open, press
the red button located on the top of
the door 3 times in a row. If the light
on the front turns green, all the
fingerprint records have been
deleted.
6. REPLACING THE BATTERIES
The safe requires 4 AA 1.5V/LR6)
batteries.
Open the safe, remove the battery
cover and replace the batteries
inside.
7. OVERRIDE INSTRUCTION TO
OPEN THE SAFE
For your convenience, we have
engineered a manual override
system to open the safe. In case of
emergency, remove the plate P
Diagram 1) as explained on Step 1,
insert the key and turn clockwise.
This will manually open the safe.
CAUTION:
Do not keep the keys inside the safe.
8. INSTALLING THE SAFE
To help reduce the risk of theft, we
suggest that your safe is securely
fixed to a wall or a floor. Please use
the provided bolts to fix the safe
horizontally.
For your convenience, the safe has
pre-drilled fixing holes at both the
bottom and at the back. Please fix
the safe according to the steps on
Diagram 3.
9. CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Keep the safe between 40°F and
110°F. Avoid using in damp
conditions.
