LRB™ LEG LOOPS OPERATOR’S MANUAL


This manual must be carefully read by all persons who have or will have
the
responsibility for using or maintaining this product.
Any warranties made by Crye Precision LLC with respect to this product are voided if the
product is not used and maintained in accordance with the instructions in this
manual.
For any questions relative to the use or repair of this product, please write Crye Precision
LLC or call 1-718-246-3838 during regular business hours.
The following are safety warnings intended to call attention to fundamental performance
limitations and areas of the product where proper usage must be followed. Failure to use and maintain
the product according to the warnings contained herein may result in the product failing to
perform as designed, and/or the persons relying on this product sustaining serious personal injury
and/or death.
•
Refer to the product label and manual for
load rating anduse guidelines.
•The safety belt worn in conjunction with the
lanyard is intended only to prevent the userfrom
reaching a position where a fall can occur.
•The Crye Precision LRB must be worn in
conjunction with the Crye Precision LRB Leg
Loops for mountaineering, rappelling, and fall
arrest.
•The Crye Precision LRB LegLoops must be worn
in conjunction with the Crye Precision LRB.
•Avoid repeated exposure of fall-protection
devices to salt water, solvents, or chemicals. See
care instructions.
•Fall-protection devices that show no signs of
damage must be replaced 5 years from date of
purchase.
•This fall-protection device is notflame resistant.
•Perform periodic inspections of the hardware,
webbing, and stitching of the fall-protection
device. Discontinue use of damaged fall-
protection devices immediately.
•DO NOT machine wash or dry clean the
product. Exposure to detergents, bleach, or
solvents may result in degradation and reduce
the effectiveness of the product.
•Inspect the product for discoloration, cuts,
tears, abrasions or cracks before and after each
use.
•DO NOT alter the product in any way.
•DO NOT expose the product to open flame or
excessive heat.
•All replacement parts must be acquired from
Crye Precision LLC or alicensed distributor.
•The most current version of this manual may be
found at www.cryeprecision.com.
•DO NOT use this product except in its intended
manner.

NOTES FOR PROPER USE
Usage instructions must be read prior to each use.
INSPECTION
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
�To clean, remove dirt with a soft brush. Wash with mild soap and warm water. Never use harsh detergents or bleach as that can degrade
the materials. Allow to air dry away from direct sunlight. Do not store damp.
�Always keep your LRB™ LEG LOOPS away from sharp objects or anything that could cut, abrade, or burn the harness.
�Normal use allows for a 3 year life of this product. Due to natural degradation of materials, any LRB™ LEG LOOPS that is 7 years or older
should be destroyed, even if unused, to prevent use.
�IN THE EVENT OF A MAJOR FALL, DISCONTINUE USE OF THE LRB™ & LRB™ LEG LOOPS AND DESTROY THEM TO PREVENT FURTHER USE.
�Inspect each contrasted-color stitch to ensure the threads are still intact on the LRB™ & LRB™ LEG LOOPS.
�Inspect LRB™ & LRB™ LEG LOOPS to insure the webbing bers are intact, not abraded or burned, and do not show excessive wear from
prolonged use.*
�Inspect LRB™ & LRB™ LEG LOOPS for chemical contamination or excessive UV light exposure. Look for discolored, faded, or degraded
components that may indicate exposure to corrosive elements.*
�Inspect the hardware to ensure there are no cracks or burrs that could compromise the webbing in high-load situations.*
�If your LRB™ or LRB™ LEG LOOPS fails inspection, it must be destroyed to prevent further use.
*Perform inspection before each use

The LRB™ maybe used for rappeling ONLY when used in conjunction with LRB™ LEG LOOPS (sold separately).

�Expose LRB™ LEG LOOPS to open ame or excessive heat
�Attempt to modify or repair the LRB™ LEG LOOPS in any way
�Remove label or discard operator’s manual

INTRODUCTION
FEATURES
The Crye Precision LRB™, LEG LOOPS are load-rated leg loops for use with
our LRB™; a simple, versatile and comfortable addition that turns your
LRB™ into a mountaineering harness tested to the strength requirements of
EN12277:2015 Type C
.
�When properly combined with the LRB™, this full system passes the strength
requirements of
EN12277:2015 Type C
(test standard for mountaineering
harnesses)
�Simple, compact format for easy stowage
�TIE-IN LOOP: This is the ONLY attachment point to be used for protection
from falls
�LEG LOOPS: Supports body weight through the legs in the event of a fall
�ADJUSTER STRAP: Cinches the leg loops into a comfortable position to prevent
chang or snagging
�LOAD-RATED STITCHING: Contrasting color for ease of inspection
�Rated to 15kN (used in conjunction with LRB™)
�CRITICAL USE AND SAFETY WARNINGS ARE CONTAINED IN THE OPERATOR’S
MANUAL. FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE USE AND SAFETY WARNINGS MAY RESULT
IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

ASSEMBLY AND WEAR
Place LRB™ around hips and step into LRB™ LEG LOOPS. Make
sure ADJUSTER STRAPS face to the front. Position TIE-IN LOOP
as shown between LRB™ LEG LOOPS.

Pass the LRB™ through the TIE-IN LOOP on the LRB™ LEG
LOOPS.

Secure the LRB™ by passing the running end of webbing through
both hardware pieces from the bottom. Separate the two pieces
and pass webbing end over the top bar and back through the
bottom opening. Secure belt around the hips. Pull until snug.

In all congurations, the LRB™ AND LRB™ LEG LOOPS must
always pass through the TIE-IN LOOP of the LRB™ LEG LOOPS.

CONNECTING RETENTION ITEMS
Attach lanyard to the TIE-IN LOOP on LRB™ LEG LOOPS. All
connections to retention lanyards, ropes, cables, or other supports
must be attached to the TIE-IN LOOP on the LRB™ LEG LOOPS.
WARNING: Do not attach to FRONT ANCHOR LOOP on LRB™.
The TIE-IN LOOP on the LRB™ LEG LOOPS is the ONLY
attachment point to be used for protection from falls from height.
ATTACHING TO ANY OTHER POINT ON THE HARNESS IS LIKELY TO
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

or replace it, free of charge, for the lifetime
of the product. This excludes normal wear
and tear. Be aware that the customer is
responsible for any and all return shipping
charges. This applies to the original purchaser
and is nontransferable.
BODY ARMOR
It is against Federal Law for a person
convicted of a violent felony to purchase
or possess body armor. In addition, various
states also have laws restricting the purchase
or possession of body armor by persons
convicted of certain felonies, other crimes
of violence, or drug crimes. By purchasing
body armor, you acknowledge and certify
that (i) you have no felony convictions, (ii)
you have not been convicted of any other
crime that would restrict your ability to
purchase or possess body armor under any
Federal or State law, (iii) you do not intend
to use the body armor for any criminal
purpose and (iv) you are over 18 years old.
Crye Precision reserves the right, in its sole
discretion, to refuse to sell body armor to any
person. Additionally, the sale of body armor
to residents of Connecticut is restricted to
in-person sales, unless the sale is made to
certain law enforcement or military personnel.
We require that all orders of body armor be
accompanied by a government issued photo
identication.
