Installation
Before You Begin
To prepare to install the machine, choose an
unobstructed, level site that allows convenient access
for operators and maintenance personnel. Source of
clean, dry compressed air should be located near the
installation site.
If you have any questions regarding the installation,
please contact your distributor or call a customer
service representative.
Compressed Air Line Sizes
Compressed air lines should be sized to hold pressure
drops to a minimum. When installing supply lines, use
1/4” pipe up to 25’ (7.6m) long, 3/8” up to 50’ (15.2m)
long. Compressed air hose (not included) should be
3/8”I.D.upto25’(7.6m).Donotuserestrictivettings
such as quick connects that can “starve” the Cuda Vac
by causing excessive line pressure drop.
Compressed Air Supply
The Cuda Vac uses normal shop air supplies of up to
100PSIG(6.9BAR,689kPa).Withproperltration
and separation of dirt, moisture and oil from the
compressed air supply, the Cuda Vac will run for years
with no maintenance required. Maximum pressure is
120 PSIG (8.3 BAR, 827 kPa).
Usea10micronorsmallerlterseparatoron
the compressed air supply. To prevent problems
associatedwithoil,useanoilremovallter.Theoil
removalltershouldbeuseddownstreamfromthe
automaticdrainlterseparator.Filtersshouldbeused
close to the Cuda Vac, within 10 to 15’ (3 to 4.6m) is
best.
Air Line Accessory Requirements
• PRESSURE REGULATORS – Must be pressure
relieving and rated for a supply pressure of 250
PSIG (17.2 BAR, 1.72 MPa). Suggested operating
pressure is 5-120 PSIG (0.3-8.3 BAR, 34-827
kPa). Flow should be minimum 24 SCFM (680
SLPM).
• AUTO DRAIN FILTER SEPARATORS – Must be
rated for a supply pressure of 250 PSIG (17.2
BAR,1.72MPa)andhave5micronltration.Flow
should be minimum 24 SCFM (680 SLPM).
• OIL REMOVAL FILTERS – Must be rated for a
supply pressure of 250 PSIG (17.2 BAR, 1.72
MPa)andhave0.03micronltration.Flowshould
be minimum 24 SCFM (680 SLPM).
Assembly

4. Connect the manual air valve to the compressed
air inlet of the reversible drum vac pump.
5. Tread the assembled reversible pump into the
3/4 NPT threaded hole in the drum lid. (turn
clock-wise)
6. Slideoneendofthe10’hoseontothebarbtting

Lid Lock Ring Installation
1. Check to ensure the gasket on the lid is properly
installed in the groove.
2. Place the lid onto the drum making sure the
gaskets seats properly all the way around the
drum curl.
3. Ensure the inner channel of the locking ring
engages entire drum curl and lid. Apply a
downward pressure on the lid.
NOTE: On the Cuda Vac 110 install the locking ring
withthelugsdownward.
Cuda Vac 55 Ring Lock
1. Close the clamping lever
2. Push lever in to allow the safety lock to latch
completely.
Cuda Vac 110 Ring Lock
1. Assemble the hex nut onto the threaded end of
the bolt. Thread the bolt into the threaded lug on
thelockingringuntilthegapisabout1⁄2′′.
2. Tighten the bolt with a calibrated torque wrench
while applying downward pressure on the lid
and hammering the outside of the locking ring
with a non-sparking dead-blow mallet to further
seat the ring. Continue tightening and
hammering the locking ring until the torque
stabilizes at 55-60 ft-lbs and does not decrease
when further hammering on the locking ring.
3. The ends of the locking ring must not touch. Lock
the locking ring in place by tightening the nut
against the unthreaded lug.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
The table lists common operating problems and possible solutions. If your Cuda Vac exhibits problems not listed,
or if the suggested solution does not solve the issue, contact your distributor or a customer service representative.
Maintenance
Changing The Filter Bag
Disconnect the compressed air supply. Remove the
locking ring from the drum lid. Slide the lid to the side
whichprovidesaccesstothelterbag.Thereisawire
ringinthetopofthelterbagthatseatsonthelter
bagholdingassembly.Toremovethelterbag,lift
the bag up from the bag holding assembly and tilt it
sideways. The ring can then be removed from the bag
holding assembly. A new bag can be installed by tilting
the ring, and pushing it over the bag holding assembly.
It will then easily seat itself and is ready for use.
Cleaning The Pump
Thesafetyshutoffoatofthereversiblepumpextends
into the drum and may require occasional cleaning.
Immerse the pump assembly in a mild cleaning or
degreasingsolvent.Aftercleaning,besuretheoat
moves freely. Use an air gun to remove solution and
contaminants.
If the reversible pump becomes clogged, it can be
disassembled for cleaning. Use a wrench to hold the
hexbodyrmwhileturningthecylindricalmufer
assembly counterclockwise with a strapping wrench.
Oncethemuferassemblyisremoved,useapin-
style spanner wrench to unscrew the threaded plug.
Carefully remove the shim and clean it, the O-ring, and
the pump body using a mild cleaning solvent. Pull the

the orientation of the shim as shown in the illustration
below and reinstall the threaded plug. Be careful not
to over tighten the threaded plug as this can distort
