Check all the above xing parts have been supplied. In the event of a missing part (or parts) contact The Curtain and
Blind Company. The number of fixing parts will vary in relation to the size and number of blinds supplied. Please
ensure the blind is mounted using a spirit level for correct operation. The following tools and instruments will be
required to complete installation safely and accurately:
• Power drill
• Phillips head screwdriver
• Pencil & tape measure
• Spirit level
• Small step ladder (if required)
• Protective eyewear & gloves (if drilling into masonry, metal or tile)
Fitting location
Before commencing installation, determine the correct tting location for your window. The location should correspond
with your order information. Please note, your nished size for a Face Fit blind is as per the ordered size. For a Recess Fit
blind, the supplied blind width will be mm less than ordered to allow the brackets to t inside the recess.


Blind and curtain cords are a signicant risk to children as unsecured cords can lead to strangulation.
The Australian Competition and Consumer (Corded Internal Window Coverings) Safety Standard states that a corded
internal window covering ‘must be installed in a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer and at
less than 1600mm above oor level’. To achieve this, follow the below advice.
• Check that here are no loose operational cords that children can reach from the oor, cot/bed, or by climbing
on nearby furniture.
• If you install an operational Cord Cleat lower than 6mm above oor level, you must:
o Ensure that children cannot remove the chain from the Child Safety Device
o Ensure the chain is suciently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop of mm (or longer)
from being formed
• The Child Safety Device must be installed using both screws.
• When installing into plasterboard, Child Safety Devices must be attached to the studs behind the plasterboard
using the provided self-tapping screws and mounted at a height of at least 6mm from the oor.
• For masonry walls, pre-drill small holes the size of the appropriate screw anchors at the marked location.
Insert the anchors at the holes and then x the Child Safety Device with the provided screws.

Step 1 - Installing the mounting brackets
Li each bracket into position and mark where the screws will attach the bracket to the frame. Pre-drill two holes
in the marked positions then secure the control bracket with the provided screws. Repeat the process for the idle
bracket. Please note, wall mounts may need to be sourced and used depending on your wall surface.
Step 2 - Attaching your blind
Insert your roller blind into the idle bracket so the spring pin clips into the guide hole (see Fig.). Then, carefully align
the chain control side with the control bracket. Push the blind into the cross section of the bracket, ensuring the chain
is hanging directly down. Then hook into place with a gentle downward motion.

Step 3 -
Installing the Child Safety Device
Position the child safety device at the bottom of the
chain loop drop and screw it into the mounting surface
(Face or Recess as relevant), making sure that the looped
chain hangs with minimal tension.
Please note, horizontal lines may appear on the roller blind fabric due to their packaging. These will fade once the blind has
been hanging fully extended for - days. Please read the Important Safety Information on page  before using your blind.
