1. Introduction
The HDMI™ to 3G SDI converter allows HDMI signals to be shown on SDI displays
while ensuring high bit rates of 2.970 Gbit/s to give you high resolution signal
without any loss. For professionals this means that it is now easier to convert your
high def HDMI signal with audio to 3G SDI for long distance transmission and
display your work on two 3G SDI display. Also, a 2CH L/R audio input allows
DVI signal with 2CH audio to be converted to SDI in order to be shown on SDI
displays. Furthermore, the device has a built-in default EDID and a recordable
EDID that guaranty image display compatibility with source equipment.
2. Applications
• HDMI signal display on SDI display(s)
• Extending HDMI signal over 100M away to two SDI display
• DVI signal with audio display on SDI display(s)
• Cascade HDMI signal over SDI cable
3. Package Contents
• HDMI™ to 3G SDI converter
• 5V/2.6A Power Adaptor
• Operation Manual
4. System Requirements
• Input HDMI/DVI (with audio signal) source equipment with connection
cable(s).
• Output SDI display(s) or SDI to HDMI converter(s) with connection cable(s).
5. Features
• Supports HDMI timing: 480i, 576i, 720p50/60, 1080p 24/25/30, 1080i 50/60,
1080p 50/60
• Operation at 2.970Gbit/s, 2.970/1.001Gbit/s, 1.485Gbit/s, 1.485/1.001Gbit/s
and 270Mbits/s
• Simultaneous display HDMI source on two SDI displays
• When a DVI signal goes through HDMI, the R/L audio can be sent with it to
the 3G SDI output
• Integrated audio embedded up to 8CH PCM 48kHz for HDMI or 2CH
(external L/R) for DVI audio
• Auto video mode detection (3G/SD/HD)

2
• Audio selection switch allows external L/R audio or HDMI audio
• Connect with other units (SDI to HDMI) to extend your signal over long
distances
• Choose between a selectable EDID and recordable EDID
• Supports signal transmission distances of up to 300M for SD signals, 200M
for HD signals and 100M for 3G signals
Note: A. Cable tested with Belden 1694A. Operating distances may vary if
used with another type of cable.
B.This product does not process HDCP input. When receiving
content that has HDCP encryption there will be no video output.

Note: 1. "" signal represent LED illuminate whereas "●" signal represent not
and "" is blinking light.
2. Only a part of HDMI timing may be convert into SDI signal and
therefore, default EDID setting selection provides source player with
reference and propriety output timing.
3. EDID switch mode / Default EDID setting:
3G
1080p@60
HD
1080i@60
Update
720p@60
4. Due to HDMI’s default timing are mainly set on 480p but SDI does not
support such timing therefore, it is possible that the image will not dis
play. To avoid such event, it is suggested to set the source input
equipment’s output timing on the “AUTO mode” for the source
equipment to send the EDID native timing of the display.
5. Only No. 4,8,12,16,20 & 24 needs to do EDID update. Detail informa
tion please refers to “EDID Update button”in section 7.1①.
6. When the input source signal is with HDCP encryption the EDID Update
and Video Lock LEDs will blink mutually, others LEDs will not illuminate
and the output display will have no image.
