Section 1 - Product Overview
Introduction
The D-Link DPN-101G is a mini GPON ONT that uses a GPON link to deliver high-speed broadband. It’s plug-and-play capabilities coupled with a
small form factor make it ideal for residential applications.With bridging forTriple-play, users can use data-intensive Internet devices simultaneously
without experiencing network delay. To give users better access to the Internet, the 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet is equipped with this GPON
residential gateway. Supporting IEEE 802.3az the DPN-101G delivers energy ecient Ethernet to the home.
Safety Precautions
Take the following instructions to prevent the device from risks and damage caused by re or electric power:
• Use the type of power marked by the volume label.
• Use the power adapter packed in the device package.
• Pay attention to the power load of the outlet or prolonged lines. An overburden power outlet or damaged lines and plugs may cause electric
shock or re accident. Check the power cords regularly. If you nd any damage, replace it at once.
• Proper space left for heat dissipation is necessary to avoid damage caused by overheating to the device. The long and thin holes on the device
are designed for heat dissipation to ensure that the device works normally. Do not cover these heat dissipation holes.
• Do not put this device close to a place where a heat source exists or high temperature occurs. Avoid the device from direct sunshine.
• Do not put this device close to a place where it is overdamp or watery. Do not spill any uid on this device.
• Do not connect this device to any PCs or electronic products, unless our customer engineer or your broadband provider instructs you to do this,
because any wrong connection may cause power or re risk.
• Do not place this device on an unstable surface or support.
System Requirements
Recommended system requirements are as follows:
• A 10/100/1000 base-T Ethernet card is installed on your PC
• A Router or Switch. (connected to several PCs through one of Ethernet interfaces on the device)
• Operating system: Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10
• Internet Explorer V5.0 or higher, Netscape V4.0 or higher, or Firefox 1.5 or higher

About the Web Conguration
The following is the detailed description of accessing the router for the rst time.
Step 1 Open a browser on the connected computer. Go to 192.168.1.1 .
Step 2 The default user name and password are admin and system.
When you log in, the page shown in the following gure appears. You can check, congure and modify all the settings.
Note: In the Web conguration page, the settings can be saved permanently.
This chapter describes how to congure the router by using the Web-based conguration utility.

Choose Status > Device. The page that is displayed shows the current status
and some basic settings of the ONU, such as Firmware Version, LAN, WAN
information.

In the navigation bar, click Status. In the Status page that is displayed contains Device,IPv6 and PON.

Choose Status > PON. This page displayed parameters of PON synchronization.

Choose LAN. The LAN tab that is displayed contains LAN and LAN IPv6. In LAN page, you can change IP address of the ONU. The default IP address
is 192.168.1.1, which is the private IP address of the ONU.
The following table describes the parameters of this page:
After your change please press "Apply Changes" to change.

Field Description
IP Address
Enter the IP address of LAN interface. It is
recommended to use an address from a block
reserved for private use. This address block is
192.168.1.1- 192.168.255.254.
Subnet Mask Enter the subnet mask of LAN interface. It is
recommended to use the default value.
IPv6 Address Mode
You can cong IPv6 address manually or let it
generated automactically. It’s recommended to
set as Auto.
IP Version This is used to set if enable IPv6 address.

Choose WAN > PON WAN. The WAN tab that is displayed. In this page, you can congure WAN interface of your router.
The following table describes the parameters of this page:
WAN
Field Description
VLAN
Enable VLAN option, you will need to cong the
VLAN ID and 802.1p_Mark.VLAN ID is from 1~4095,
but some of it is in reserved. 802.1p is the priority
from 0~7.
Channel Mode
You can choose Bridged, IPoE, PPPoE. Bridged is
for forwarding data under layer-2 network. Usually
user need to connect another router on the LAN
side. IPoE is for obtain IP from ISP or congure IP
manually. PPPoE is congured to PPP dial-up.
Enable Bridge
From Channel Mode, you can congure bridged
mode or routed mode. If you congured routed
mode, you can also enable this option to let
bridged mode works simultaneously.
Enable NAPT Under routed mode, user can enable this option to
use NAT or not.
Admin Status This option is always set to Enable to enable
service.

Field Description
Enable QoS Select this option to let WAN connection use QoS feature.
Connection Type This is congured the WAN connection for purpose. INTERNET is for user connect to Internet. TR069 is for ISP remote
management.
MTU This option is to congure the max size that WAN connection is able to transmit.
Enable IGMP-Proxy This option is use to enable IGMP Proxy feature.
IP Protocol Here can select IPv4, IPv6, IPv4/IPv6. It is congured as ISP provided.
Field Description
UserName The user name of PPPoE account which ISP
provide.
Password The password of PPPoE account which ISP provide.
Type
Here can select Continuous, Connect on Demand,
Manual. The default value is Continuous which
means WAN connection is always on.
Authentication
Method
Here can select dierent authenticate of PAP, CHAP,
AUTO. It’s suggested to use AUTO.
AC-Name This value is congured only when ISP ask you do.
Service-Name This value is congured only when ISP ask you do.
PPP Setting:
After your change please press "Apply Changes" to change.

Port Mapping This is used to congure the port bound to WAN
connection.

DHCP Settings
Choose Servies > DHCP. The DHCP page that is displayed. The page as shown
in the right gure appears.
Dynamic Host Conguration Protocol (DHCP) allows the individual PC to obtain
the TCP/IP conguration from the centralized DHCP server. You can congure
this router as a DHCP server or disable it. The DHCP server can assign IP address,
IP default gateway and DNS server to DHCP clients. This router can also act as a
surrogate DHCP server (DHCP Relay) where it relays IP address assignment from
an actual DHCP server to clients. You can enable or disable DHCP server or DHCP
Relay.

Choose Servies > DHCP > MAC-Based Assignment. The page as shown in the
right gure appears. This page lists the xed IP/MAC address on your LAN. The
device distributes the number congured to hosts on your network as they
request Internet access.
