Dehydrating food is a popular and
natural way to preserve current season
fruits/vegetables, as well as some
meats. Constant circulation of precisely
heated air around the 5 layered trays
allows food to dry. This method of
dehydrating intensifies flavours. Food
can be dehydrated without additives,
leaving a concentration of natural fibre
(in fruit and vegetables), antioxidants
and vitamins.
Dehydration allows you to enjoy fruit,
vegetables and meats all year round. We
recommend dehydrating foods that are
in season and at their nutritional peak.
Dehydrated foods also tend to have
a long storage life, kept in an airtight
container some dehydrated foods can
be kept for 3-5 months in a cool, dry
place. As shelf life varies between types
of food, please research how long a
particular dehydrated food can be
safely stored.
Packaging and Recycling
The materials used for this product’s
packaging can be reused, recycled and
disposed of through specific waste
streams.
• REUSE: Keep packaging to safely
store or transport your appliance,
preventing damage.
• RECYCLE: Look for recycling symbols
on packaging components to identify
if they are recyclable. Check with
your local authority to find out what
materials are accepted for recycling in
your area.
• DISPOSE: Look for symbols on
packaging components and dispose
of materials accordingly.
Operating Your Food Dehydrator
Before First Use
Ensure that the trays are washed in
warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly
and dry.
Dehydrating
Place pre-treated food on each tray,
ensuring that no food is overlapping.
If dehydrating several types of food at
once, place each type of food on its
own tray.
For wet mixtures use the solid tray and
place on top of the drying tray
Apply lid. Connect power cord to
socket, the LED screen will appear on.
Press the power button to start setup.
Press set button to adjust the time and
temperature. Time adjusts in 30 minute
increments and temperature in 5°C
increments using the and buttons.
Dry selected foods based on taste or a
recipe. Once drying time is complete for
a particular food you can easily remove
that selected tray, so you won’t disturb
other foods’ drying time.
3
Once drying time has completed, the
unit will automatically turn itself o.
Alternately, you can press the power
button to turn o before removing plug
from socket.
We do not recommend mixing sweet
and savoury foods, as circulating air
may transfer flavours.
Reposition the trays regularly for
consistent dehydrating.

Pick leaves of your chosen herb when
they are undeveloped. We recommend
drying all herbs and spices at 35°C.

time (hours)
Basil, chives,
mint, oregano,
parsley, thyme
Wash and pat dry with paper towel 2-4
Chilli No preparation needed 6-8
Garlic Peel and chop 4-6
Rosemary No preparation needed 3
Vanilla Pat dry with paper towel 2-6
Meat
Choose a lean meat that has little
marbling. The meat must be pickled
and salted in the fridge for 8-12 hours
prior to drying, this will help tenderise.
See our beef jerky recipe on page 7
for details. Once meat is dried, always
ensure the meat is cut across the grain
to avoid a chewy texture. Store in an
air-tight container in the fridge for up to
four weeks.
Poultry
All poultry must be boiled, steamed
or roasted ensuring it is fully cooked
before starting the drying process. We
recommend cutting the poultry in thin
1cm strips or cubes, removing any fat.
Marinate or season the poultry as your
chosen recipe specifies. Place on tray,
ensuring food is not overlapping, dry for
2-8 hours at 70°C.
Fish
When drying fish, always ensure it is
fresh and not frozen. Skin and bone
your fish, cutting into 5mm stripes.
Allow to marinate for 12 hours in fridge.
Steam or roast fish prior to dehydrating.
Place on drying tray, ensuring that fish
is not overlapping. The drying process
will take 2-8 hours at 65°C. Once drying
is complete the fish should be brittle or
leathery. Store in air-tight container or
zip lock bags in a dry, dark place for up
to two months.
Bread
To created homemade croutons or
breadcrumbs, simply cube sliced bread
and lay on drying tray, ensuring they are
not overlapping. Dehydrate on 50°C for
30 minutes -2 hours. Once complete, you
have dried croutons, or blend in food
processor until fine breadcrumbs form.
Alternatively, dehydrating can be a form
of cooking bread.
Nuts
Shell the nuts if needed and clean in hot
water. Scatter onto the trays and dry
between at 40-65°C for 18-26 hours.
Always store nuts in the fridge for
freshness.
6
Nuts Preparation Approx. dehydrating
time (hours)
Raw pecans,
raw almonds,
walnuts
Soak 4 cups of nuts in warm water with 2 tsp. of
salt for at least 7 hours. Drain, rinse and sprinkle
with honey or salt for flavour.
12-24
Cashews Soak 4 cups of nuts in warm water with 1 tbsp. of
salt for not more than 3 hours. Drain and rinse. 12-24
Raw peanuts Soak 4 cups of nuts in warm water with 1 tbsp. of
salt for at least 7 hours. Drain and rinse. 12-24
Raw pumpkin
seeds
Soak 2 cups of seeds in warm water with 1 tbsp.
salt for at least 7 hours. Drain and rinse, sprinkle
with honey, salt or chili and lime.
12-24
Raw sunflower
seeds
Soak 4 cups of seeds in warm water with 2 tsp. of
salt for 7 hours. Drain and rinse. 12-24
Flowers
Craft your own potpourri or dried
flowers at home by picking firm, half-
bloomed flowers while they are cool
and dry. If the flower is in full bloom,
the petals may fall o. Lay flowers
out, ensuring they do not overlap. Dry
from eight to ten hours at 35°C or until
flowers are brittle. Place the dry flowers
in an air-tight container with three to
four drops of your chosen perfumed oil.
After four weeks, shake well or add a
few more drops of fragrant oil.
Care and cleaning
Ensure dehydrator is disconnected from
socket and cool before cleaning. Wash
the trays in warm soapy water and a
soft cloth to wipe dry. If needed, clean
the lid and unit with a damp cloth. Do
not submerge unit in water.
Storage
Store in a cool, well ventilated place.
