Electronic Salt/Pepper Mill
DES0562
davisandwaddell.com.au
Thank you for choosing the Davis & Waddell
Electronic Salt/Pepper Mill. To ensure
proper operation and to maintain the
lifespan of your appliance, please read these
instructions carefully before use.
Loading Batteries
Step 1:
The batteries load into a chamber in the top
part of the mill. There are symbols located on
the back of the mill that indicate the locked
and unlocked positions. To open the battery
compartment, hold the mill body (B) and turn
the top of the mill (A) counterclockwise until
the top arrow aligns with the unlocked symbol.
Remove the top of the mill.
Step 2:
Insert 6 x AAA batteries into the
corresponding slots, correctly matching the
charge symbols.
Step 3:
Replace the top of the mill (A), aligning the
arrow to the unlocked symbol. Holding the mill
body (B), turn the top of the mill clockwise.
The top arrow will align to the locked symbol
indicating that the mill has locked.
Filling the Mill
Step 1:
The spice chamber can be filled with
a variety of spices, such as sea salt,
peppercorns, red pepper flakes, or coarse
sugar. There are symbols located on the
back of the mill that indicate the locked and
unlocked positions. To open, hold the spice
chamber (D) and turn the mill body (B)
clockwise until the top arrow aligns with the
unlocked symbol. Remove the body from
the chamber.
Step 2:
Fill the spice chamber (D) with your desired
spice. Fill to about 80% (approximately to
just below the locked/unlocked symbols).

Step 4:
Hold the spice chamber (D) and turn the mill
body (B) counterclockwise. The top arrow
will align to the locked symbol, indicating
that the mill is locked.
Instructions
Step 1:
The mill features six (6) adjustable grinding
settings. The settings are indicated by Fine (-)
and Coarse (+) symbols on the base of the
mill (C).
Step 2:
To adjust the grind, turn the base (C) and
align the arrow on the spice chamber (D) with
your desired grind setting. From the Fine (-)
symbol, turn the base counterclockwise to
increase the grind setting. From the Coarse (+)
setting, turn the base clockwise to reduce the
grind setting. (See figure 3)

Note: The base is not designed to turn 360°.
Forcing the base in the wrong direction can
cause the grinder to jam.
Step 3:
Push the top button (G) to activate the mill. An
LED light mill will illuminate the base of the bill
when the top button is pushed.
Cleaning
To clean your mill, wipe with a damp cloth
or sponge.
Do not use harsh cleaners or abrasive cleaning
pads as this may damage the finish.
Do not submerge the mill in water or let the
battery compartment come into contact with
water. Do not place in dishwasher.
Tips & Warnings
If spices become stuck in the grinder, turn to
the coarse setting and push the top button (G)
until they release.
If the mill is not working properly, check
the batteries.
DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc),
or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries.
DO NOT drop or strike the mill against hard
surfaces. This can cause the mill
to malfunction.
Covered by 12 month warranty.
