Operating instructions for model number: DEF769099
Thank you for buying this ceramic fan heater. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them in a
safe place for future reference.
When switched on for the rst time a slight odour might be emitted for a few minutes. This is harmless
and occurs with most heaters when any slight traces of dust or lubricants that may have collected in the
factory are heated away.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Double Insulated Electrical Appliance
This appliance is of Double Insulation Construction. Because of its construction there is no
earth required and therefore there is no Earth connection.
Connect the mains lead to a standard 230V (50Hz) electrical supply through an approved
13 Amp BS1363 plug, or a suitably fused isolator switch.
The two wires in the mains lead should be wired up in accordance with the following colour
code:
IMPORTANT : The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code: Blue - Neutral
Brown - Live
As the colours of the exible cord of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying terminals in your plug proceed as follows:
Connect BROWN coloured cord to plug terminal marked with a letter Lor coloured RED
Connect BLUE coloured cord to plug terminal marked with a letter Nor coloured Black

IMPORTANT: If this appliance is tted with a plug which is moulded on to the electric
cable (i.e. non- re-wireable) please note:
1. The plug must be thrown away if it is cut from the electric cable. There is a danger of
electric shock if it is subsequently inserted into a socket outlet.
2. Never use the plug without the fuse cover tted.
3. Should you wish to replace a detachable fuse carrier, ensure that the correct
replacement is used (as indicated by marking or colour code).
4. Replacement fuse covers can be obtained from your local dealer or most electrical
stockists.
5. The fuse in the plug must be replaced with one of the same rating (13 amps)
and this replacement must be ASTA approved to BS1362.

qualied technician

completeness!Intheeventofdamageoranincompletedelivery,contactyourauthorisedretailer!
• Donotdiscardtheoriginalbox!Itcanbeusedforstorageanddispatchtoavoidtransportdamage.
• Disposeofthepackingmaterialinapropermanner.Plasticbagsshouldbekeptawayfromchildren!
Location
• Theapplianceshouldbeplacedwithaminimumdistanceof120cmfromammableobjects,wallsor
structures!Theapplianceopeningsmustnotbeobstructedinanyway!
• Donotplacetheapplianceoninstablesurfaces,whereitcantipover.
• Neverplacetheappliancedirectlyunderawallsocket!
Notes on use
• Afterswitchingontheapplianceforthersttimeandalsoafterprolongedoperationwithoutheating,
the appliance may smell for a short time.
• Beforeusingoftheheaterpleasereadandconsidertheabovementionedsafetyinformation’s.

These instructions for use belong to the appliance and must be kept in a safe place. When
changing owners, these instructions must be surrendered to the new owner!

Operating Instructions
Operation:
Stand the heater on a horizontal, at and even surface and at least 120 cms of safe distance to walls,
subjects,furnitureandbuildings.Donotstandonanunstablesurface,e.g.,toabedoralongpilecarpet
(the appliance could overturn). Pay attention to the safety regulations on page 3.
• Makesurethe“POWER“button(A)inFig.2on“0/OFF“position.Plugthecordintoa
electrical outlet.
• TurnthePowerButtonH, Fig 1tol/onposition.
PressOn/ObuttonA Fig 2.
Press the fan button E Fig 2, the indicator light will turn on and the fan will operate.
You can now choose the following,
(B) Position: 1000W -Low heat setting
or
(C) Position:1000W -Low heat setting
or
(B) and (C) Position: 2000w -High heat setting
(D)Position:-Oscillation
• ToturntheheaterOFFPressOn/ObuttonA Fig 2.
When not is use switch o at main Power Button H Fig 1 and unplug the heater from the electrical
outlet.

ison“I/ON“.
• Ifthebuttonisswitchedto“O/OFF“ortheelectricalsupplyisbroken,thecontrollampgoesout.
Oscillation (D)
Withthebutton(D–Fig.2)youcanswitchonorotheoscillationofthefan
heater.
Overheating safety device
A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating. When an overheat temperature is
reached,theheaterwillbeautomaticallyshuto.Itcanonlyresumeoperationwhentheuserresetsthe
unit.Ifthisshouldhappen:
Iftheheaterdoesnotswitchon,thesafetydevicehasbeenactivated.Removethemainsplug
from the wall socket. Let the heater cool down for 30 minutes. Check if the heater had been placed
correctly.Checkifanythingisobstructingtheairow.Ifnecessary,cleanthegrilleswithavacuum
cleaner.
Replace the plug into the wall socket and switch the heater on again.
Ifthesafetydeviceagainswitchesotheheater:Removethemainsplugfromthewallsocket.
Have the heater inspected by a Service Centre or by your dealer.

Cleaning and Storage
Cleaning
• Pressthe„POWER“button(A–Fig.2)to“0/OFF“positionandunplugtheheaterfromthe
electrical outlet and let cool o the fan heater.
• Removethemainsplugfromthewallsocket.
• Youmaycleantheoutsideoftheheaterwithadampcloth.Donotallowwatertocomeintothe
appliance.
• Cleantheairinletandoutletgrillesregularly(withnormaluseatleasttwiceayear)withavacuum
cleaner, using the brush attachment.
• Donotuseanyabrasiveorcausticcleaningagents!
• Useadampclothorbrushtocleanthehousing.
• Donotusewater!Neverimmersetheapplianceinwater!Dangertolife!
• Iftheapplianceisnotgoingtobeusedforsometime,itshouldbeprotectedagainstexcessive
dust and dirt.
Storage
Keep the original box in which the convector was packed to store it during the warmer months
when it is not in use. Clean the heater according to the instructions under Cleaning.
Pack the heater in the original box and store it in a cool, dry place.
HEATER GUARANTEE
DeVielleguaranteesthatthisheaterwillbefreefromdefectsinworkmanshipandmaterials
for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. Any product found to have defects in
workmanship or material within the period of this guarantee will be replaced free of charge.
The conditions of this guarantee are as follows:
A) The product has been properly maintained.
B) Defectsordamageduetonormalwearandtear,accident,misuse,orinterferencearenot
included.
C) The product is made available for inspection, together with proof of purchase. NB. This
guarantee does not aect your statutory rights.
NOTE: This product should not be disposed of with household waste Please recycle where
facilities exist Check with your local authority for recycling.
