Thank you for purchasing a DECATHLON electrically-assi󰘵ed bike.
We invite you to read the in󰘵ruction manual to get the mo󰘵 out of your SPEED 900E bike.
Never forget that an electrically-assi󰘵ed bike is not a moped. It needs your help to go further,
fa󰘵er and longer.
We sugge󰘵 that you learn how to use your electrically-assi󰘵ed bike in an open area in order
to get used to the feel of the motor kicking in and thus ensure optimum control of your bicycle.
An electrically-assi󰘵ed bike is heavier than a conventional bike ( unloaded weight of the
SPEED 900E is 15 kg for the Medium version. Without power assi󰘵ance, pedalling can be
more di󰘲cult.
You mu󰘵 always make sure you are capable of riding the entire journey without assi󰘵ance,
in case your battery runs 󰘱at.
Here is what you need to do to get the mo󰘵 out of your power-assi󰘵ed bike.
Important, this in󰄋ruction manual only applies to the electrical characteri󰄋ics of
your bicycle.
You should refer to the user manuals common to all our bicycles that accompany
this document and are also available on our website www.decathlon.com or on re-
que󰄋 in our DECATHLON 󰄋ores.

General operation of the electrical assi󰄋ance
The power assi󰘵ed bike can be used with or without assi󰘵ance by pressing the Command button «C» and altering the modes 0-1-2-3. The selec-
table 0-1-2-3 assi󰘵ance modes selectable on the «C» Command button allow you to choose a power assi󰘵 level in addition to the e󰘯ort provided.
Power assi󰘵ance will only work if you are pedalling, with a selected mode other than 0. Assi󰘵ance cuts o󰘯 when the speed is above 25km/h. In
case of intensive use and in exceptional climatic conditions, assi󰘵ance may be cut o󰘯 to safeguard the whole sy󰘵em.
The power supplied is calculated by the controller «A» based on your pedalling and the assi󰘵ance mode selected.
The motor hub «C» will provide more or less power depending on the mode selected and the force applied
Power assi󰘵ance does not kick in or shuts down in the following situations:
- The speed is above 25km/h
- You’re not pedalling
- The battery «A» remaining charge is not su󰘲cient
- «0» is the power assi󰘵ance mode selected
- When the control button is switched o󰘯
The A-weighted emission sound pressure level at the driver ears is less than 70 dB (A).

MOTOR
Motor «B» of your power-assi󰘵ed bike is a brushless-type motor with mechanical reduction, allowing you to have high torque and less resi󰘵ance
(quieter motor).
So motor noise in use does not exceed 55db. The power of the motor is limited to 250W maximum.

Your bike is equipped with a bluetooth sy󰘵em.You can can pair a phone and use your smartphone to have more possibilities and receive phone
noti󰘰cation warning. Please check the Q&A support web site for more informations.
There is a sy󰘵em error if the button color is purple (󰘰xed or blinking light). Please refer to the ERROR CODE page on the user manual to know
more about this error.
Bluetooth & Noti󰄈cation Sy󰄋em error code
1 - When the bicycle is turned on, the sy󰘵em automatically connects
to the close󰘵 telephone with an activated Bluetooth connection. The
connection or disconnection is con󰘰rmed when the LED lights up brie-
󰘱y in BLUE.
2 - If you receive a noti󰘰cation (call, etc.) on your telephone while
connected via Bluetooth, the RBG LED will light up in LIGHT BLUE
for a few moments.
1 - If the RGB LED remains lit in PINK the bike is in SAFE MODE.
Take it to your neare󰘵 󰘵ore to diagnose the problem.
2 - If the RBG LED blinks con󰘵antly in PINK, there is an error in the sys-
tem.Connect your mobile terminal by Bluetooth to see a detailed des-
cription or visit an authorized 󰘵ore for more information on the error.
If the problem is serious, the sy󰘵em may 󰘵op providing assi󰘵ance.

BATTERY AND CHARGER
Battery and charger properties
All batteries in our electric bikes use Lithium-Ion cell technology and have no memory e󰘯ect. The battery can be recharged at any time. There’s no
need to wait until it’s completely discharged.
Recharging the battery after each use is recommended.
You should recharge your battery at lea󰘵 every 3 months even if you do not use it.

The range of your ebike tour is determined by several factors: tyres pressure, external temperature, riding mode, e󰘯ort on the pedals, total weight,

Battery and charger precaution
Never remove the battery from the bike!
This manipulation could be dangerous and is reserved for trained Decathlon technicians.

it to malfunction.

Do not use or 󰘵ore your bike with charging port open. Open the charging port cap only for charging.
Charge your battery indoors, in a dry environment at a temperature between +10°C and +40°C.
Under certain conditions, the charger may reach high temperatures.
Other mechanicals parts as disc brakes could reach high temperatures too.
Do not dispose of the battery in non-suitable containers. Return the used battery to your Decathlon
󰘵ore for recycling.
The battery of your bike is a dangerous good. Risks of electrocution and 󰘰re.
The bike should be handled with care (product is sensitive to impacts).

Never short-circuit the battery by connecting the positive and negative terminals or putting some
external object on the charging port. Risk of 󰘰re and electrocution!
Transport by aeroplane of your electric bike with its battery is prohibited.
Do not expose the bike to temperature above 50°C. Outside this range, battery life will be
a󰘯ected.

BIKE SAFETY INFORMATION
This bike is designed for road use only.
Others practices are inappropriate and prohibated
(Risk of accident and cancellation of the bike guarantee if you do not comply with this condition)
Never modify the bike’s components or electrical sy󰘵em! Any change is dangerous and prohibited
by law. If a modi󰘰ed bike breaks down or is damaged, Decathlon will in no case take care of
repairs (warranty cancelled). You will also be legally responsible for any accident that arises with
the bike. Likewise, it is forbidden to modify the bicycle in order to increase its speed with electric
assi󰘵ance. Those modi󰘰cations may endanger you, the lives of others and damage your bike.
Riding a modi󰘰ed bicycle can have serious consequences in the event of a road accident under
the law.

Before each use you mu󰘵 make sure that your brakes and electric sy󰘵em are working properly

Always wear a helmet when riding your bike.
In order to prevent abnormal use of the bike (e.g. non trained user, safety measures not read,
sy󰘵em dysfonctionnement...) when lived unattended, it is recommended to use the lock provided

Caution: in rain, fro󰘵, or snow, you may have less tyre traction.
It is essential to 󰘵ore the bike in a dry, cool place (between +10°C and 25°C), out of sunlight,
even for a short break.
All electric components are designed to with󰘵and rain.
Do not immerse the bike or electric components in water.

MAINTENANCE
All maintenance of electrical components requires special skills and are dangerous. You are not
allowed to remove a electrical component by yourself.

All cleaning work mu󰘵 be done when bike is turned o󰘯, not plug to the charger and with charger
cap correctly close.
Prohibited: cleaning using a high-pressure jet.
Not recommended: cleaning under running water.
Recommended: cleaning using a damp sponge.
If the bike suers a fall, check the electric components.
If cable, button or frame is physically damaged, go to a DECATHLON workshop for an electric
te󰘵.
If the chain comes o󰘯, switch o󰘯 the power before carrying out any repairs.
To remove the rear wheel, you have to disconnect the motor cable. Be careful to respect the
connector plugging way (follow the arrow mark) and do not bend the motor cable.
We advise you to bring your electrically-assi󰘵ed bike back to your DECATHLON 󰘵ore for its
6-month service.

The error code appears on the Mahle My Smartbike smartphone application.
An error code is the visible reaction to an electric issue.
Error code does not mean there is a defective component!
Mo󰘵 of the time it is ju󰘵 a warning to signal an empty battery or a disconnected cable.

CONTENTS OF THE COMMERCIAL WARRANTY FOR YOUR ELECTRICALLY-ASSISTED BIKE
Please ensure that you keep your invoice as proof of purchase.
The bicyle has a lifelong guarantee on the 󰘵ructural components (frame, handlebar 󰘵em, handlebar and saddle-pillar), 2 years on
parts subject to normal wear and tear.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, from a failure to respect the precautions for use, from accidents, from
improper use or from commercial use of the bike.
This bike is for personal use only and not for professional use.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from repairs carried out by persons not authorised by Decathlon.
Each electronic component is permanently sealed. Opening one of these components (battery, battery sheath, controller, screen,
motor) may cause physical injury to persons or damage to the sy󰘵em. Opening or modifying a component in the sy󰘵em will void the
warranty for the bike. The warranty does not cover cracked or broken screens showing visible signs of impacts.
FURTHER DETAILS REGARDING THE LIFETIME WARRANTY ON DECATHLON BIKES, purchased as of 1 June 2013.
DECATHLON brand bikes are products designed to provide complete satisfaction to their users. For this reason,
DECATHLON wishes to commit to the quality and durability of its bikes.
Within this context, DECATHLON o󰘯ers its clients a lifetime warranty which exclusively covers the following noncarbon parts: frames,
rigid forks (non-suspension forks), handlebars and 󰘵ems 󰘰tted to DECATHLON brand bikes. This warranty begins on the date of
purchase of (a) DECATHLON brand bike(s).
It is speci󰘰ed that, for the lifetime warranty to be valid, the buyer mu󰘵:
either have a DECATHLON 󰘵ore loyalty card and regi󰘵er his/her purchase on it at the time of checkout,
or complete the warranty certi󰘰cate available online on the www.btwin.com site within one month of the purchase date. During this re-
gi󰘵ration, the buyer mu󰘵 provide the following information: la󰘵 name, 󰘰r󰘵 name, purchase date, e-mail address, and bicycle tracking
number.
By virtue of this warranty, DECATHLON o󰘯ers either the replacement by an equivalent of the frame, rigid fork, handlebars or 󰘵em, or
their repair, within a reasonable time period, after being brought to a DECATHLON retail 󰘵ore repair shop. It is speci󰘰ed that travel
and transportation co󰘵s remain the responsibility of the cu󰘵omer.
However, this contractual obligation will not apply in the event of poor maintenance or misuse of DECATHLON bikes, as de󰘰ned in the
user manual of the product in que󰘵ion.
To bene󰘰t from the warranty covering one of the parts li󰘵ed above, you mu󰘵 simply visit the repair shop of a DECATHLON retail
󰘵ore, bringing either your DECATHLON 󰘵ore loyalty card or your warranty certi󰘰cate with you.
DECATHLON reserves the right to verify that all conditions of the lifetime warranty have been met and to implement all due necessary
measures to verify this.
It is also speci󰘰ed that the lifetime warranty does not exclude the application of the legal guarantee(s) provided for under the French
Consumer Code (Code de la consommation) and Civil Code (Code civil), namely:
Article L. 211-4 of the Consumer Code: «The seller mu󰘵 deliver goods in conformity with the contract and take responsibility for any
lack of conformity present at the time of delivery. The seller is also held liable for any lack of conformity caused by the packaging, the
assembly in󰘵ructions or the in󰘵allation if he/she was made responsible for the latter under the contract or if it was conducted under
his/her responsibility».
Article L. 211-5 of the Consumer Code: «To be compliant with the contract, goods mu󰘵:
Be suitable for the use normally expected for similar goods and, if necessary:
match the description provided by the seller and possess the qualities that he/she presented to the buyer in the form of a sample or a
