1 Basic safety advice
The handling of the appliance technology is only allowed for instructed staff. The exact
knowledge of the guide book is for your staff an important requirement for the handling
of the machine.
The guide book has to be at hand for all the staff always.
deconta has to engage you as the user to follow the guide book and to employ this
engineered technology only in accordance with the regulations and not in an
inappropriate way! In case of non-observance, deconta assumes no liability.
In order to ensure the safety during the operation of the device, the following has to be
respected without fail:
Do not place in an explosive area
Necessary repairs, maintenance and cleaning, in particular in the field of
electrical equipment have to be realized only by qualified staff
For all repairs the device has to be fully disconnected
The safety and security equipments have to be treated with care, ready for use.
The standard, legal and remaining binding rules concerning the accident
prevention and the protection of the environment have to be observed
the indicated security advices have to be kept in a readable state and have to
be observed
In order to ensure safety, any changes on the machine are prohibited.
ATTENTION!
The Safety-Cabinet is not suitable for the use in a condensed, corrosive,
flammable and explosive compartment air. The ambient and medium
temperature may not exceed 40°C.
We specifically refer to additional regional and national safety measures and
rules in regard to the operation of the equipment technology.

2 Technical description
The Safety-Cabinet is an exhaust unit in which asbestos samples may be worked on.
The unit is steplessly adjustable inbetween 250 und 400 m³/h.
The air is sucted through HEPA-filtration and blown out sideways or deduced through
an optional hose connection. The manometer shows the proper functioning and the
necessary change of filters.
Large windows and integrated lights ensure optimal illumination.

4 Initial operation
Do not operate the device, in case of visual damage or problems with the
implementation. Please contact the deconta GmbH at your earliest convenience.
4.1 Set up
Always locate the machine on a solid and even surface that has adequate strength to
support the weight of the machine.

4.2 Initial operation
Attention:
To prevent uncontrolled release of fibres, the cover plate must be mounted
before every switching ON/OFF and while the Safety Cabinet is not in use.
Connect to power supply
Lighting in Safety-Cabinet is switched on automatically
Turn On-/Off- Switch and set to the lowest level
Only now remove cover plate
The function of the device is displayed on the manometer
5 Filter control / Filter change
The filters lifespan depend on the following factors:
Operating hours
Type of dust
Dust concentration
The air performance decreases with increasing clogging of filter (soiled filters).

Important: Only use approved and faultless filters!
Attention:
Contaminated filter may only be changed provided all relevant safety
precautions are guaranteed.
Only use approved filters
5.1 Change of 1. HEPA-filter stage
Attention: Filter may only be changed when device is switched on!
Remove screws from clamping frame and take off clamping frame
Remove HEPA-filter and dispose of professionally
Insert Hepa-filter:
Control and clean sealing surfaces of device
Insert new main filter

Important:
Treat HEPA-filter with care, for damages can negate effectiveness of filtration.
The HEPA-filter is factory equipped with a handle protection by deconta to prevent
filter damages.

5.2 Change of 2. HEPA-filter stage
Attention: Filter change of 2. HEPA-filter stage only allowed in suitable dirty area
and when switched off!
The change of the 2. HEPA-filter stage is generally only necessary when filter is
extremly dirty.
Disassemble 1. HEPA-filter stage as described under 5.1
Remove screws from clamping frame and take off clamping frame
Remove HEPA-filter and dispose of properly
Insert HEPA-filter:
Control and clean sealing surfaces of device
Inser new main filter
Mount clamping frame
Assemble 1.HEPA-filter stage as described under 5.1
Important:
Treat HEPA-filter with care, for damages can negate effectiveness of filtration.
The HEPA-filter is factory equipped with a handle protection by deconta to prevent
filter damages.
