Installation and Removal Instructions for Dell PowerVaultTM 114T
If ferrites are present, there is no need to replace or install new ones. When replacing SCSI cables or power
supplies with ferrites attached, refer to Adding Ferrites to New SCSI Cables or Power Supply to open ferrites.
Power Cables – Ferrite Installation
Place one ferrite on each of the power cables that connect to the tape drive (see Figure 1-2).

SCSI Cables – Ferrite Installation
Remove the backing from the adhesive tape and adhere the open ferrites to the back bays underneath the SCSI
cables (see Figure 1-4).

Close the ferrites to complete the installation on SCSI cables (see Figure 1-5).

Refer to Figure 1-6 for the completed installation of the ferrites on SCSI cables and power cables.

Adding Ferrites to New SCSI Cables or Power Supply
Use your fingers and/or a flat blade screwdriver to pry open the ferrites surrounding the power and SCSI cables.
See Figure 1-7 for opening ferrite on power cable and Figure 1-8 for opening ferrites on SCSI cable.
Please make sure the ferrites are placed on your new SCSI cable or power supply.
