CAUTION: Before cabling your library, remove the
interior foam and cardboard packaging that protects the
robot. In addition, remove the yellow strip in the I/E station
and the velcro strap that holds the robot in place. For

Install Your Library in a Rack
All Dell™ PowerVault™ ML6000 libraries must be installed in a
rack. For instructions, see the
Dell ™ PowerVault ™ ML6000 Tape
Library User’s Guide .
• ML6010 CM is a single 5U Library Control Module.
• ML6020 CM consists of one (1) ML6010 CM 5U Library Control
Module and one (1) ML6000 EM 9U Expansion Module (14U
total).
• ML6030 CM consists of one (1) ML6010 CM 5U Library Control
Module and two (2) ML6000 EM 9U Expansion Modules (23U
total).
ライブラリをラックに設置する

• ML6010 CM は、1 台の 5U ライブラリ制御モジュールです。
• ML6020 CM は、1 台の ML6010 CM 5U ライブラリ制御モジュールおよ
び 1 台の ML6000 EM 9U 拡張モジュール 『合計 14U』 から構成されて
います。
• ML6030 CM は、1 台のML6010 CM 5U ライブラリ制御モジュールおよび
2 台の ML6000 EM 9U 拡張モジュール 『合計 23U』 から構成されてい
ます。

Connect SCSI Cables
If your library uses only Fibre Channel drives, skip this step.
There are two recommended ways to cable SCSI tape drives: two tape
drives per SCSI bus or one tape drive per SCSI bus.
To connect two tape drives per SCSI bus:
2a Attach one end of the SCSI cable to the top SCSI port of the
bottom tape drive. Then attach the other end of the cable to the
bottom SCSI port of the tape drive above. To avoid possible
performance issues, do not connect more than two tape drives per
SCSI bus.
2b Use another SCSI cable to connect the bottom tape drive of the
SCSI bus to your host system.
2c Use a SCSI terminator to terminate the top tape drive of the SCSI
bus.
To connect one tape drive per SCSI bus:
2d Use a SCSI cable to connect the bottom port of the tape drive to
your host system.
2e Attach a SCSI terminator to terminate the top port of the tape
drive.
SCSI ケーブルの接続
お使いのライブラリでファイバ チャネル ドライブのみを使用す
る場合は、この手順をとばしてください。
SCSI テープ ドライブを接続する方法には、推奨される 2 つの
方法があります。SCSI バスに 2 台のテープ ドライブを接続す
る方法と、SCSI バスに 1 台のテープ ドライブを接続する方法
です。
SCSI バスに 2 台のテープ ドライブを接続するには、以下
を行います。
2a SCSI ケーブルの一方の端を、下のテープ ドライブにある上
の SCSI ポートに接続します。SCSI ケーブルのもう一方の端
を、上のテープ ドライブにある下の SCSI ポートに接続しま
す。性能に問題が発生しないようにするため、SCSI バスに 2
台を超えるテープ ドライブを接続しないでください。
2b 別の SCSI ケーブルを使い、SCSI バスの一番下のテープ ド
ライブをホスト システムに接続します。
2c SCSI ターミネータを使い、SCSI バスの上のテープ ドライブ
を終端処理します。
SCSI バスに 1 台のテープ ドライブを接続するには、以下を行
います。
2d SCSI ケーブルを使い、テープ ドライブの下のポートをホス
ト システムに接続します。
2e SCSI ターミネータを取り付けて、テープ ドライブの上の
ポートを終端処理します。

Connect Fibre Channel Cables
If your library uses only SCSI drives, skip this step.
Use Fibre Channel cables to connect your host (or switch) to the
library. For each tape drive:
• Attach one end of the Fibre Channel cable to the Fibre Channel
port on the tape drive. Then attach the other end of the cable to
your host or switch.

お使いのライブラリで SCSI ドライブのみを使用する場合は、こ
の手順をとばしてください。
ファイバ チャネル ケーブルを使い、ホスト『またはスイッチ』

Connect Module Cables and Module Terminators
All libraries must use module terminators. Libraries that consist of
multiple modules must use module cables.
CAUTION: The module terminator is not the same as a SCSI
terminator. Using a SCSI terminator instead of a module terminator
can damage the library.
4a Using the module-to-module cables from the accessory kit, connect
each module to the one above it. Attach one end of the cable to the
bottom module. Then attach the other end to the module above it.
4b Using the module terminators from the accessory kit, terminate the
topmost and bottommost modules.

Connect the Ethernet Cable
• Connect your Ethernet cable to the top Gigabit Ethernet port on
the library control blade (LCB).

•Ethernet ケーブルを、ライブラリ コントロール ブレード
『LCB 』の、上のギガビット Ethernet ポートに接続します。

Connect Power Cords
Power supplies are required for all modules that contain tape drives.
For each power supply:
• Attach one end of the power cord to the power supply. Then attach
the other end to the power source.
電源コードの接続
テープ ドライブを含むモジュールにはすべて、給電が必要です。
それぞれのパワー サプライに、以下を行います。
•電源コードの一方の端をパワーサプライに差し込みます。コー
ドのもう一方の端を、電源に接続します。

Power On the Library
• Turn on each power supply’s power switch. Then turn on the
library’s main power using the switch located on the front of the 5U
Library Control Module. The Setup Wizard screen appears on the
operator panel when the library has completed its POST and
initialization. This process takes approximately 30 minutes. Do not
power off the library during this process.
ライブラリの電源を入れる
それぞれのパワー サプライの電源スイッチを入れます。5U ライ
ブラリ コントロール モジュールの前面にあるライブラリのス
イッチを使って、主電源を ON にします。ライブラリが、POST
