2.1 Qualification of service personnel
Installation and startup may be carried out only by personnel specifically
authorized by Dentsply Sirona.
2.2 Power connection
WARNING
Shock hazard
It is essential that you switch off the power supply PRIOR to
beginning the installation. There is a risk of electric shock. People can
be injured or electrical components of the unit destroyed.
2.3 Modifications and extensions to the device
Modifications to this unit which might affect the safety of the operator,
users or other persons are prohibited by law.
For reasons of product safety, this product may be operated only with
original Dentsply Sirona parts or parts expressly approved by Dentsply
Sirona. The user assumes the risk of unforeseen modifications and of
using non-approved parts and accessories. Dentsply Sirona is not liable
for resulting damages.
All units connected to this product must comply with the applicable
standards:
● IEC 61010-1 Safety requirements for electrical equipment for
measurement, control, and laboratory use
● IEC 61326-1 EMC requirements for laboratory equipment
● IEC 62368-1 or IEC 60950-1 Safety of information technology
equipment (e.g. computer, monitor)
The simulation unit monitor must fulfill the requirements of the IEC
62368-1 or IEC60950-1 standard.
If a system is set up on installation, the person setting it up is
responsible for ensuring the conformity of the system, e.g. in
accordance with directive 2006/42/EC.

Use an ESD wrist band. Connect it to the protective ground conductor.
Please comply with the usual precautionary measures for handling
printed circuit boards (ESD). Make sure you touch a ground point to
discharge yourself prior to touching the components. Otherwise,
electrical components of the device can be destroyed.
2.5 EMC interference suppression
NOTE
Loss of device approval
The removal of interfering components (such as ferrite cores) leads to
a loss of device approval.
In addition, faults may occur on the dental simulation unit and
neighboring electronic devices.
➢ Do not remove any interfering components.

All simulation units are carefully checked and packed prior to shipment.
Please carry out an incoming inspection of the equipment in order to
make sure that it was not damaged during transport.
● Check the packaging and the equipment for visible signs of damage.
● Check the shipment for completeness based on the attached
packing list.
NOTE
Possible transport damage
If the shipment was damaged during transport, document all damage
carefully and contact the responsible carrying agent immediately.

5.2.1 Substrate, floor
Unevenness The floor must be level and horizontal in accordance with DIN 18 202.
5.2.1.1 Load-bearing capacity of the floor
Load capacity The minimum load-bearing capacity of the floor must be 0.25N/cm2
(corresponds to around 250kg/m2).
5.2.1.2 Stability
With a concrete floor
● Use a 12 mm diam. masonry bit to drill the holes.
● The depth of the holes depends on the condition of the floor.
For concrete floor without screed

1. Check the distances of the installation field from the walls according
to the installation plan.
2. Check the cable lengths* of the mains cable or control cable for the
"suction machine" (A). (An additional cable can be optionally
provided for the customizable key # - configuration as per the
"suction machine" control cable).
3. Check the position of the air and water corner valves (B). Their
upper edges must not protrude more than 60 mm (2 3/8") above the
upper surface of the floor.
4. Check the position of the suction and drain pipes (C). Both pipes
must be flush with the upper surface of the floor (deviations of + 5
mm (3/16") are permissible). Both pipes must have an internal
diameter of 36.5 mm

*Cable lengths of the supply cables
The cable lengths depend on the layout planning.
Depending on the installation location of the units, the cable lengths
must be adapted to the circumstances accordingly.

IMPORTANT
The Sim Multi Bench components are installed in the designated
items of furniture. This furniture is designed specifically for the project.
As such, the dimensions may vary depending on the design.
The furniture is set up at the designated on-site connector panels as
per the installation plan.
6.2.1 Assembly of supply module "Sim Multi Basis"
Secure the supply module on the base box to the side of the furniture
using 11 screws M6x12 (A) as shown in the image. (Screws included in
the scope of supply)

Attach the supply module on the base box with the floor plate by
screwing 2 screws M8x50 (B) or equivalent screws through two holes in
the support element and tightening.
(Screws are not included in the scope of supply)
IMPORTANT
With concrete flooring:
Insert the wall plugs in the holes up to the supporting concrete.
(Observe section 5.2.1.2 "Stability"!).

Risk of damaging an existing floor heating system
Fastening holes may damage an existing floor heating system.
➢ Determine the location of the heating with the heating system
switched on.
