Introduction:
Porsche with base stereos (CDR-30/31) may also be fitted with optional 3.5mm
aux jack which is more than satisfactory for music playback from external audio
devices, but those wanting support for more attractive modern media formats,
we offer the A2D-CDR30 Bluetooth wireless Audio Streaming solution for any
A2DP enabled Smartphone, Tablet, Kindle etc. Once installed users can stream
Apple music, pandora, turn by turn directions and more on any Porsche equipped
with a CDR30 or CDR31 Radio. If vehicle is not fitted with an aux jack, this module
still applies and does NOT interfere with factory Hands-Free Kit (if equipped)

Installation:

1. Disconnect 12-pin green plug from Radio Main Plug (Quadlock)
(See Fig. 1)

Alert! The Green and Blue plugs are for factory options such as
Bluetooth, amplifier, Aux etc.
2. Connect black 12-pin plug from module to slot vacated in step 1
(See Fig. 2)

Factory Green plug (if present) remains disconnected (See Fig. 2)
3. Secure Ground wire from module to radio chassis as seen in Fig.
3or alternate ground supply.

4. Tap or connect Red Accessory wire to suitable 12V Accessory
supply source (e.g. fuse box etc.)
Some Suggestions include:
1. In 968, 981: Left footwell Fuse box at Row C, Fuse 1 (7.5A/15A)
2. In 987: Kick Panel Fuse box at Row B, Fuse 9 (7.5A)
3. Alternate: Remove hand-brake cover and locate orange wire. Tap into it
using supplied T-tap (See Fig. 4)

Warning: Connecting red wire to constant (battery) supply is not
recommended. Always connect to an accessory supply wire. Use
voltmeter or test light to verify voltage on suggested accessory wires
and check for engine noise prior to finalizing install. In case of engine
noise we recommend adding a noise filter such as our NF3A
5. Securely adapter and proceed to next section
Pairing:
Pairing process varies among devices the but basic steps are the same. This
process is done upon initial install and will not have to be repeated.
1. Turn ignition and Radio “ON”
LED inside module will blink (pairing mode)
2. On A2DP device: go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, Bluetooth
Settings
3. Select Bluetooth and turn on.
4. Select Bluetooth settings
5. Tap Scan for devices .
6. Wait for Bluetooth device name to appear and select it.
LED inside module peephole will glow steady (paired)
Note:
Pair multiple devices (10) but only one connection is supported.

Optional Remote Control:
Wireless remote is optional and not required for operation, however instead
juggling with audio device while driving (which is outright dangerous),
simply mount to dashboard or steering wheel and able to perform the
following functions:
1. Control music wirelessly
2. Activate Phone commands (Siri, Google play etc.)
3. Track up/down
4. Volume up/down

Operation:
Use wireless remote to perform the following functions on any iOS7.0 and higher
or Android 4.4 and higher.

Final test:
1. Turn Radio “ON”
2. Press “CD/AUX” button repeatedly until “AUX MODE” is activated or
press “AUX” Soft key
3. Set radio volume to minimum setting
4. Launch Smartphone streaming application.
5. Set volume on audio device to medium level (50%)
6. Carefully adjust radio volume in small steps until desired volume is
reached. If necessary, increase volume on audio device.
Warning! Playlist and Track selection is *NOT* possible from the
Radio. Use the smartphone built-in controls to access and control the
audio files.
5. If correct operation is confirmed, tuck away any extra wires and re-
install Radio.
Frequent asked questions
1. My Porsche has factory Hands-free, will the A2D-CDR30 interfere?
NO; The A2D-CDR30 adds Bluetooth music streaming features to your vehicle and
will not interfere with factory hands-free calls. When hands-free is in use, music
streaming will mute/pause.
2. My vehicle has an AUX jack. Will the A2D-CDR30 interfere with it?
YES; AUX jack or iPod adapter options must be disconnected because the A2D-
CDR30 connects to radio through the aux port.
3. I’m experiencing alternator whine. What can be done to fix this?
Engine noise is uncommon, however if you do experience engine noise, we
recommend locating an alternate ACC supply source or adding a noise filter such
as our NF3A
4. Will I be able to control Smartphone or Tablet from radio buttons?
NO; you must continue to use Smartphone or Tablet built-in controls and
display to operate device. Volume button on radio is used to set playback level.

5. Does this module work on Porsche PCM Radios?
NO, this module works only on Porsche CDR30 and CDR31 Radios.
6. Will I have to enable AUX on Stereo at dealership?
In some vehicles, aux is already enabled; and those that are not will require dealer
activation. For verification: Press “CD” button repeatedly to cycle between CD
and AUX, if only CD appears, yours will require dealer activation.
