Before Installation
Select a suitable mounting location on an exterior wall, where the HS- O_2X Sensors are best protected from direct exposure to
sunlight, wind, etc., preferably on a north-facing wall. Do not mount the transmitter near opening windows, supply/exhaust air louvres
or other known air disturbances. Avoid areas where the transmitter is exposed to vibrations or rapid temperature changes.
The HS-O_2X Sensors provide a connection hole for 1/2" NPT Conduit, and an M16 adapter and cable gland in Europe. Run a length
of conduit through an exterior wall and seal it. Use 14-22 AWG (2.08 mm2 to 0.205 mm2) shielded wiring for all connections and do
not locate the device wires in the same conduit with wiring used to supply inductive loads such as motors. Make all connections in
accordance with national and local codes.
Mounting
The HS-O_2X Sensors should be installed directly on an exterior wall using the two (2) integrated mounting holes provided on the
enclosure.Select the best mounting technique based on the exterior wall material. The mounting holes accept #10 x 1” (5mm⌀x 25mm
L) self-tapping screws (not included). The transmitter fitting must be pointing down.
The HS-O_2X Sensor Series enclosure has a hinged cover with a latch. Open the cover by gently opening the latch at right side of
the enclosure while pulling out the cover. Stick a conduit through the hole at the bottom of the enclosure and secure it with a locknut.
It isadvisable to use a weatherproof conduit or a cable gland. Completethe wiring connections as indicated in the illustrations of
the “Wiring” section.
Push the cover closed until it is securely latched. For optimal security, 2 screws are provided for installation in the integrated
screw tabs as shown in Figure 2.

Wiring
Deactivate the 24 Vac/dc power supply until all connections are made tothe device to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage.
Use 14-22 AWG (2.08 mm2to 0.205 mm2) shielded wiring for all connections and do not locate the device wires in the same conduit
as wiring used to supply inductive loads such as motors. Make all connections in accordance with national and local codes.
Pull at least six inches (15 cm) of wire into the enclosure, then completethe wiring connection according to the wire diagram for the
applicable power supply and output signal type.
Select the desired signal output type (mA or Vdc) by placing the output switch in the required position, as shown in Figure 3. Factory
default is mA (4-20 mA).
If mA was selected, no further Output set-up is required. If VOLT output is selected (see Figure 3), place the Voltage Output switch in
the desired span position, as shown in Figure 4, i.e. 10 = 0-10 Vdc. The factory default is 10v = 0-10Vdc.
Connect the DC positive or the AC voltage hot side to the PWR terminal. For voltage output or AC power, the supply Common is
connected to the COM terminal. The device is reverse voltage protected and will not operate if connected backwards. It has a half-
wave power supply, so the Common supply is the same as the Common signal. See Figure 5.
The analog output is available on the OUT terminal. Check the controller Analog Input to determine the proper connection before
applying power, as shown in Figure 4.
