WARNING
Depending upon the age, skill level and maturity of the user, the dot
board may not be suitable for everyone. This product is not
recommended for riders under the age of 18. The use of this product by
someone who lacks the necessary physical development, skills or
maturity presents an increased risk of serious injury or death. This
product is NOT a toy. NEVER leave this product with unattended children.
WARNING
Under some circumstances, the electric brakes may not work, especially
if the battery is fully charged due to the regenerative braking feature. It
is also possible to lose power and brakes due to radio interference or a
dead Remote control battery. Therefore, only ride this product at speeds,
on slopes, and in situations where you would be comfortable riding the
product without power or brakes.
WARNING
Not wearing a helmet increases the chances of serious injury or death. Be
sure you always wear a helmet and other protective gear when you ride.
WARNING
Once the skateboard starts moving, the Remote control will continue to
respond to the skateboard even if you are not on the skateboard. If you
step off, fall off the skateboard, or are not on the skateboard while the
skateboard is moving, the skateboard will continue to move even if you
are not on it. Therefore, it is important that you use the Remote only
while you are on the skateboard or while the skateboard is in the upside
down position. In the event of a runaway skateboard, attempt to use the
brakes on the Remote to stop the skateboard but be aware that it is
possible that the brakes may not always work.

Safety Warnings
YOU INCREASE THE RISKS IF YOU:
•Fail to wear a helmet
•Ride at speeds, on inclines, or in situations where you are not safely in control
•Attempt tricks or stunts
•Ride at night, in low visibility, in wet or icy conditions, in bad weather such as rain
or fog, or in other risky environments
•Ride if you are impaired (physically or mentally)
•Ride if you are pregnant, have any heart, head, back or neck conditions

•Ride within your capabilities and use common sense and good judgment

other vehicles and other hazards
•Ride on flat, dry, level ground that is clear of debris

You are responsible for knowing and abiding with all applicable laws and regulations
WARNING
While your dot board is equipped with red rear lights, they are not brake
lights and may not always be visible. If you ride in low visibility conditions,
use equipment and clothing that makes you visible to others and that
allows you to see where you are going.
WARNING
Do not disassemble or tamper with or attempt to repair the hub motor(s),
or the Main
Controller Module or battery, or the Remote Control. They
contain chemicals or components that may cause injury.
WARNING
This product is not for riders heavier than 265 pounds (120 kilograms). DO
NOT EXCEED THE WEIGHT LIMIT OF 265 POUNDS (120 KILOGRAMS)
–
including backpacks and other items that the rider might be carrying. This
product is intended to be a single rider use only. DO NOT ride with any
additional passengers. Doing so may exceed the capacity of the product
and result in a loss of control or reduced braking or insufficient power.
WARNING
Do not touch the rear truck or motor after extended use as they may get
hot and may cause burns.

SAFETY LABELS
Safety labels on your skateboard either warn you of potential hazards
that could cause serious injury or provide important safety
information. Read these labels carefully and don’t remove them.

When applicable, the battery module label is attached to the
top cover of the battery module case. This faces the
underside of skateboard deck and not visible unless the
battery module is removed or upon first assembly and use.

Accessories and Modifications
Modifications
Do not remove any original equipment or improperly modify
your dot board in any way that would change its design or
operation. Such changes could seriously impair your
skateboard’s handling, stability, and braking, making it unsafe
to ride.
Risk of Electric Shock
Do not open or tamper with the electrical or electronic
housings, including battery electronics and cells and main
controller module. This is dangerous and can lead to fire or
explosion or malfunctions. Tampering will also void your
warranty.
ACCESSORIES AND MODIFICATIONS
Improperly modifying your dot board or using uncertified accessories can
make your dot board unsafe.
Accessories
•Only use dot board accessories and parts that have been specifically
designed and tested for your dot board. You will be solely personally
responsible for any damage that may result from your use of any
uncertified accessories or improper modifications of your dot board.
•Do not add any electrical equipment to the dot board electrical system. A
blown fuse can cause a loss of lights or motor power. Any interference to
the electrical system can result in erratic behavior of the main controller
module.
•Do not modify, open, or tamper with the battery module. Do not tamper
with the cells contained within the battery module, these have been
specifically designed, programmed and tested to use with your dot
board.

The dot Main Controller is the heart of the dot board system.
The housing features LED red rear lights with multiple brightness
levels, a magnetic charge port and easy access USB port for
firmware updates.

the Main Controller, please contact
customer service.
The
warranty will be void if you open or tamper with the Main
Controller

MOTORIZED TRUCK ASSEMBLY.
Your dot board can operate up to two dot Hub motors. Cruiser and Compact
come standard with a single motor configuration – upgradeable to two motors.
Transporter comes standard with two hub motors. The Cruiser and Compact
models come standard with 83mm wheels. You have the option of choosing 83
mm or the 120 mm wheels for the Transporter model only.
Hub motors are retained with motor retaining pins, which are applied with
Loctite® and then secured with an arrestor sticker.
See section on page 37 for installation of hub motors
HUB MOTORS
The whisper-quiet dot Hub Motor operates with up to 2100 watts of power in the
dual motor configuration, is free from any external wires providing a cleaner
aesthetic and better ground clearance.
Compatible with all dot board models.
120MM WHEEL OPTION –TRANSPORTER MODEL ONLY
These 120 mm 78A urethane wheels are available only for the Transporter model.

Unpacking Your Skateboard
Read and fully understand all the information in this manual, the
Safety Warning Sheet, Battery Information Sheet, and Quick Start
Guide supplied with your board and also pay particular attention to
the warning labels applied to the board, power adaptor, charging
cables and Remote.

UNPACKING YOUR DOT BOARD SKATEBOARD
Your dot board comes in its own specially designed case. Inside you will
find everything you need to get you going.
Once you remove the skateboard, you will see inside the following items:
•Safety Warning Sheet, Battery Information Sheet, and Quick Start
Guide
•dot board – Transport, Cruiser or Compact
•Battery modules (up to 4, depending on your model and configuration)
which will come already installed on your dot board.
•Battery front deflection cover and battery screws which will come
already installed on your dot board.
•Battery connector safety caps (Red) – these will be in the spare parts
bag.
•Remote controller and remote controller charging USB cable. The USB
cable is also used for firmware updates.
•AC power adaptor (country specific) and magnetic charging cable
•Skate tool, hex-drive tee bar, spare parts package
Your dot board comes fully assembled in accordance with the model and
configuration that you purchased.

WARNING
Your dot
board has been transported with lithium ion battery
modules. Please, carefully examine these modules for any signs of
damage
–including cracks, leaks, shape change, etc. Please contact
customer service
for further instructions and information if you see
any signs of damage to the battery module
.
Remove your dot board from the case and inspect the it for any
damage that may have occurred during shipping or any missing parts.
If anything is damaged or missing, please contact customer service
immediately for assistance. You can reach customer service at
info@dotboards.com

Battery Safety
Your dot board is shipped with the batteries already fitted.
Batteries will be supplied, depending on the quantity ordered
and the maximum number that can be fitted to your model
Your dot board case, will come shipped with specific battery
connector protection caps. Please retain these caps for future
use with transportation – especially for transportation on
aircraft. When fitted and with tape to hold the caps in place,
these protective caps will help prevent other objects from
damaging the battery connectors.
BATTERY SAFETY*
The dot board BM100 battery module contains lithium ion cells, that
could explode or cause a fire if they are used incorrectly
Please be aware of the following precautions:
•Always use extreme caution when working with or around any
battery terminals, connectors, mounting screws or motors
•Always observe and obey the instructions on labels attached to
components -they are there for your safety
•The BM100 has no user serviceable parts. Do not disassemble,
remove or replace battery components. This will void your warranty
•Do not short circuit the battery terminals at each end. Always refit
the protective caps your battery was supplied with and use tape to
hold the caps in place, when not in use
•Never throw a battery in to a fire or submerse in water. Dispose of
your battery as instructed in this owner’s manual
•Changes or modifications to your BM100 battery module, can
present a safety risk and will void your battery warranty
•If your battery shows any type of damage or shape change (e.g.
bulging, leaking etc.) then discontinue use and immediately contact
customer service

WARNING
Failure to properly follow the
battery safety instructions and
precautions,
can cause serious injured or death. Always follow the
procedures and precautions in this owner’s manual.

Battery Care and Installation
•Keep the skateboard and battery away from water, moisture, rain and flammable
and combustible materials
•Do not shock the battery by excessive impact or force (for example, dropping it,
slamming it, or throwing it)
•Do not disassemble, puncture, crush, open, or otherwise tamper with the battery
module in any way
•Do not allow the battery to run down completely before charging.
•Periodically charge the battery even if the skateboard has not been used.
•Charge the battery before storing your skateboard. Leaving the battery in a
completely discharged state may result in the battery not accepting a charge or a
decrease in the charge-holding capacity
•Regularly inspect the batteries for any damage. If the batteries show any sign of
damage, leakage, shape change, or any other indicators of damage, immediately
discontinue use. Do not handle damaged batteries. Contact customer service for
assistance.

Approximate Charge Time:
•One Battery with Standard 1.5A 48V Adaptor -60 Minutes
•Two Batteries with Standard 1.5A 48V Adaptor -120 Minutes
•Three Batteries with Standard 1.5A 48V Adaptor -180 Minutes
•One Battery with Standard 3.5A 48V Adaptor -45 Minutes
•Two Batteries with Standard 3.5A 48V Adaptor -90 Minutes
•Three Batteries with Standard 3.5A 48V Adaptor -135 Minutes
•Four Batteries with Standard 3.5A 48V Adaptor –180 Minutes
The dot board has the following approximate range on a full
charge:
•One Battery 6 Miles/10 Kilometres*
•Two Batteries 12 Miles/20 Kilometres*
•Three Batteries 18 Miles/30 Kilometres*
•Four Batteries 24 Miles/40 Kilometres*
*There are various factors such as the weight of the rider, wind
resistance, and road surface conditions that can reduce range.
Battery Care:
•Do not store the skateboard or battery or charge the batteries at
temperatures at or below 32°F / 0°C or temperatures at or above
104°F / 40°C
•Keep the skateboard and battery away from high temperature
conditions such as direct sunlight, fire, heat, inside hot cars, etc.
Exposing the battery to high temperature conditions may cause
the battery to explode resulting in serious injury or death
•Store batteries in a cool dry place

WARNING
DO NOT insert anything into the
battery connector terminals or allow metal or
anything else to
come in contact with the battery connectors. Doing so could cause
a short
-circuit and increase the risk of risk of combustion, fire, personal injury or
death. When any battery is not installed and separated from the dot
board, always
put the red safety cap on both the back and front connectors of the battery. Secure
the red safety caps in place with tape.
If you do not have the red safety cap, you
may also use
Debris Resistant Cap to cover the connectors. If you do not have any
red safety caps or
debris resistant cap,
you can also put each battery in an individual
zip lock bag
–please put only one battery inside each zip lock bag.
