1 Sicherheitsbezogene Informationen
1.1 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
– Vor Gebrauch des Produkts diese Gebrauchsanweisung und die des
verwendeten Atemschutzgeräts aufmerksam lesen.
– Gebrauchsanweisung genau beachten. Der Anwender muss die
Anweisungen vollständig verstehen und den Anweisungen genau Folge
leisten. Das Produkt darf nur entsprechend dem Verwendungszweck
verwendet werden.
– Gebrauchsanweisung nicht entsorgen. Aufbewahrung und
ordnungsgemäße Verwendung durch die Nutzer sicherstellen.
– Nur geschultes und fachkundiges Personal darf das Produkt verwenden.
– Lokale und nationale Richtlinien, die dieses Produkt betreffen, befolgen.

2 Konventionen in diesem Dokument
2.1 Bedeutung der Warnhinweise

3.5 Funktionsbeschreibung
Das Dräger X-plore®1) 8000 Schweißerschutzvisier mit ADF 5–13 dient als
Atemanschluss sowie als Augen- und Gesichtsschutz. Das
Schweißerschutzvisier schützt vor Funken und Spritzern sowie schädlichen
Lichtstrahlen, die beim Schweißen entstehen.
3.6 Verwendungszweck
Das Schweißerschutzvisier ist für den Einsatz mit den Gebläsefiltergeräten der
Serie Dräger X-plore®8000 und dem Druckluft-Schlauchgerät Dräger X-plore®
9300 bestimmt. In den USA darf das Dräger X-plore®8000
Schweißerschutzvisier nur zusammen mit Dräger X-plore®8000
Gebläsefiltergeräten verwendet werden.
Eignung für Schweißverfahren siehe Kapitel 11 Anhang.

3.7 Einschränkungen des Verwendungszwecks
– Die Schutzwirkung kann durch folgende Faktoren beeinträchtigt werden:
– Hohe Windgeschwindigkeiten und starker Seitenwind
– Brillenbügel oder Bärte im Bereich der Gesichtsmanschette
– Das ADF ist nicht unzerstörbar. Es schützt nicht vor Gefahren durch
schwere Einschläge z. B. von splitternden Schleifscheiben und
Sprengkörpern oder vor ätzenden Flüssigkeiten.
– Das Schweißerschutzvisier ist nicht für Arbeiten über Kopf, Laserschweißen
und Laserschneiden geeignet.
3.8 Zulassungen
Die Schweißerschutzvisiere erfüllen die PSA-Verordnung (EU) 2016/425. Für
Informationen zu den jeweiligen Systemzulassungen siehe
Gebrauchsanweisung der im 3.6 Verwendungszweck genannten
Atemschutzsysteme.
Das Visier ist nach folgenden Normen zugelassen:

Die äußere Schutzscheibe ist nach folgenden Normen zugelassen:

In den USA ist das Dräger X-plore®8000 Schweißerschutzvisier in Kombination
mit dem Dräger X-plore®8000 Gerät gemäß Teil 84, Titel 42 des Code of
Federal Regulations zugelassen. Es darf nur zusammen mit Komponenten
verwendet werden, die über eine NIOSH-Zulassung verfügen (siehe Approval
Label der Dräger X-plore®8000 Gebläseeinheit).

Erstickungsgefahr durch Sauerstoffmangel oder CO2-Vergiftung!
►Schweißerschutzvisier nur verwenden, wenn Atemluft ansteht.
VORSICHT
Gefahr von Augenschäden oder Verbrennungen!
►Wenn das ADF beim ersten Auftreten eines Lichtbogens nicht verdunkelt,
Schweißarbeit sofort beenden.
►Gebrauchsfähigkeit kontrollieren.
►Ggf. Lichtempfindlichkeit einstellen.
VORSICHT
Gefahr von Krebs oder Geburtsfehlern durch mangelnde Belüftung der
Arbeitsumgebung!
Während des Schweißens können Chemikalien im Staub enthalten sein, die
Krebs verursachen oder zu Geburtsfehlern führen können.
►Arbeitsumgebung ausreichend belüften.
4.1 Vorbereitungen für den Gebrauch
1. Gebrauchsfähigkeit kontrollieren.
►Beschädigte Teile und verkratzte Schutzscheiben austauschen.
►Schutzscheiben und verschmutzte Photosensoren des ADF reinigen.
►Sicherstellen, dass die Aufnahme mit dem ADF fest sitzt und der
Verschluss am ADF geschlossen ist.
2. Schweißerschutzvisier auf die richtige Größe einstellen (Abbildung A und
B).
3. Beim ersten Gebrauch die Transportfolien von der äußeren Schutzscheibe
und dem ADF innen entfernen.
4. Lichtempfindlichkeit einstellen:
a. Drehregler für die Lichtempfindlichkeit auf Position HI (maximale
Lichtempfindlichkeit) stellen.
b. Drehregler für die Lichtempfindlichkeit langsam gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn stellen, bis das ADF nicht mehr verdunkelt.
5. Nach Bedarf Verzögerungszeit von dunkel zu hell (0,1 bis 0,9 s) einstellen.
Je nach auszuführender Tätigkeit den Schalter für Schweiß-/Schleifmodus
in die entsprechende Position bringen.
6. Wenn der Schweißmodus genutzt wird, Verdunklungsstufe gemäß EN 379
wählen (siehe „Technische Daten“, Seite 10).

7. Schweißerschutzvisier mit Atemschutzgerät verbinden.
8. Augenschutz und Gehörschutz aufsetzen.
9. Atemschutzgerät einschalten und sicherstellen, dass am
Schweißerschutzvisier Atemluft ansteht.
10. Schweißerschutzvisier aufsetzen und schließen.
11. Sitz des Schweißerschutzvisier prüfen und Folgendes sicherstellen:
– Die Gesichtsmanschette verläuft unter dem Kinn und die Kopfhaube
entlang des Hinterkopfs.
– Der Tragering liegt vollständig innerhalb des Dichtbereichs.
– Das Schweißerschutzvisier sitzt fest am Kopf.
12. Kordelzug festziehen.
4.2 Nach dem Gebrauch
1. Visier hochklappen.
2. Schweißerschutzvisier ablegen.
3. Atemschutzgerät ausschalten.
4. Bei Bedarf Schweißerschutzvisier reinigen (siehe „Reinigung und
Desinfektion“, Seite 9).

6.1 Reinigung und Desinfektion
VORSICHT
Mögliche Beschädigung von Bauteilen!
►Zum Reinigen und Desinfizieren nur die beschriebenen Verfahren
anwenden und die genannten Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsmittel
verwenden. Andere Mittel und Verfahren, Dosierungen und Einwirkzeiten
können Bauteile beschädigen.
VORSICHT
Gesundheitsgefährdung!
Die Mittel sind bei direktem Kontakt mit Augen oder Haut gesundheitsschädlich.
►Beim Arbeiten mit diesen Mitteln Schutzbrille und Schutzhandschuhe
tragen.
1. Textilien (Kopfhaube mit Gesichtsmanschette und Schweißband)
demontieren.
2. Eine Reinigungslösung aus Wasser und einem Reinigungsmittel
vorbereiten.
3. Textilien mit der Reinigungslösung reinigen.
4. Wenn die Textilien desinfiziert werden sollen:
a. Ein Desinfektionsbad aus Wasser und einem Desinfektionsmittel
vorbereiten.
b. Textilien in das Desinfektionsbad einlegen.
5. Textilien unter fließendem Wasser gründlich spülen.
6. Textilien an der Luft oder im Trockenschrank trocknen lassen (Temperatur:
max. 60 °C). Vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung schützen.
7. Schutzvisier mit feuchtem Tuch reinigen.

3.5 Feature description
The Dräger X-plore®1) 8000 protective welding visor with ADF 5–13 is designed
as both a facepiece and eye and face protector. The protective welding visor
protects its wearer from sparks and splashes as well as from harmful light rays
that occur during welding.
3.6 Intended use
The protective welding visor is designed for use with the powered air purifying
respirators from the Dräger X-plore®8000 series and the air line breathing
apparatus Dräger X-plore®9300. In the USA the Dräger X-plore®8000
protective welding visor is only permitted to be used with Dräger X-plore®8000
powered air purifying respirators.

3.7 Limitations on use
– The protective effect can be impaired by the following factors:
– High wind velocities and strong crosswind
– Earpieces or beards under the face cuff
– The ADF is not indestructible. It does not protect its wearer from danger
from heavy impact, e.g. from chipped grinding discs and explosive bodies or
from corrosive fluids.
– The protective welding visor is not suitable for work performed above head
height, laser welding or laser cutting work.
3.8 Approvals
The protective welding visors conform to EU regulations on personal protective
equipment (EU) 2016/425. For information on the corresponding system
approvals please refer to the instructions for use of the respirators mentioned in
3.6 Intended use.

►Only use the protective welding visor if breathing air is available.
CAUTION
Risk of eye damage or burns!
►If the ADF does not go dark the first time an arc occurs, cease welding work
immediately.
►Check serviceability.
►Set light sensitivity as necessary.
CAUTION
Risk of cancer or birth defects due to insufficient ventilation of the work
environment!
During welding, chemicals may be contained in the dust that could cause
cancer or birth defects.
►Ensure adequate ventilation of the work environment.
4.1 Preparations for use
1. Check serviceability.
►Replace damaged parts and scratched protective screens.
►Clean protective screens and soiled photosensors of the ADF.
►Ensure that the receptacle is tightly fitted with the ADF and the seal on
the ADF is secure.
2. Adjust the protective welding visor to the correct size (figures A and B).
3. When using the protective welding visor for the first time, remove the
transport foil from the external protective screen and the inside of the ADF.
4. Set the light sensitivity:
a. Set the control dial for light sensitivity to HI position (maximum light
sensitivity).
b. Slowly turn the control dial for light sensitivity counterclockwise until the
ADF no longer turns dark.
5. Set the delay time from dark to light (0.1 to 0.9 s) if necessary. Depending
on whether you would like to weld or grind, set the weld/grind mode switch
to the corresponding position.
6. In weld mode, select the darkening stage as defined by EN 379 (see
"Technical data", page 17).
7. Connect the protective welding visor with the respiratory protective device.
8. Put on eye and ear protection.
9. Switch on the respiratory protective device and make sure that breathing air
enters the protective welding visor.
10. Put on the protective welding visor and close.
11. Check the position of the protective welding visor and ensure the following:
– The face cuff is fitted below the chin and the head cover along the back
of the head.
– The support ring lies completely within the sealing area.
– The protective welding visor is attached tightly to the head.
12. Tighten the drawstring.

6.1 Cleaning and disinfecting
CAUTION
Potential damage to component parts!
►For cleaning and disinfecting only apply the described procedures and use
the specified cleaning agents and disinfectants. Other agents and
procedures, dosages and exposure times can damage component parts.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
The agents are harmful to health if they come into direct contact with eyes or
skin.
►Wear goggles and protective gloves when working with these agents.
1. Remove textiles (head cover with face cuff and sweatband).
2. Prepare a cleaning solution containing water and a cleaning agent.
3. Clean textiles with cleaning solution.
4. To disinfect textiles:
a. Prepare a disinfectant bath of water and a disinfecting agent.
b. Place textiles in the disinfectant solution.
5. Carefully rinse textiles under running water.
6. Allow textiles to dry in the open air or in a drying closet (temperature: max.
60 °C). Do not expose to direct sunlight.
7. Clean the protective visor with a damp cloth.
6.2 Maintenance work

3.5 Description du fonctionnement
La visière de protection de soudure Dräger X-plore®1) 8000 avec ADF 5–13 sert
de pièce faciale et de protection pour les yeux et le visage. Elle protège des
étincelles, des éclaboussures et des faisceaux lumineux dangereux liés aux
interventions de soudure.
3.6 Domaine d'application
La visière de protection de soudure est destinée à être utilisée conjointement
aux systèmes filtrants à ventilation assistée de la série Dräger X-plore®8000 et
à l’appareil à adduction à air comprimé Dräger X-plore®9300. Aux USA, la
visière de protection de soudure X-plore®8000 ne peut être utilisée qu’avec les
systèmes filtrant à ventilation assistée Dräger X-plore®8000.
