AccordingtoKjeldahlprinciples,thedeterminationrequiresthreesteps,whichare
digestion,distillationandtitration.
K1100FAutomaticKjeldahlAnalyzercanautomaticallycompletetheprocessesof
distillationandtitration.Uponthesamplestobedeterminedisfullydigested,it's

subjectedtothefollowingchemicalreactionsontheinstrument:

Theammoniagasemittedduringthereaction,togetherwiththesteam,iscollectedin
thereceivingcupaddedwithboricacidabsorbingsolution(containingmixed
indicator)aftercondensedbyacondensingtube.Thentheautomatictitratorcarries
ontitrationandrecordthevolumeofconsumedstandardtitrationacid.Basedonthe
volumeofconsumedstandardtitrationacid,thecalculatingsystemcalculatesthe
nitrogencontentandcrudeproteincontentbasedonthefollowingformulae.

a.Thedeviceshallavoiddirectsunradiationandplaceswithoutextreme
temperatureormoisture.Ingeneral,theroomtemperatureshallbekeptbetween
10℃and28℃.
b.Thedeviceshallbeinstalledatplacesadjacenttowatersourceanddraintankand
providedwithpowersockets;thedistancebetweenthelocationofwatersupplyvalve
andpowersupplyandthedeviceshallbelessthanonemeterforconvenienceof
operation.
c.Thewatersupplyshallcomplywithrequirementsofwaterpressureandwater
temperature.
d.Thedraintankshallatleastbe50cmlowerthandischargeportofthedeviceto
ensuresmoothnaturaldischarge.

e.Thepowerarrangementshallcomplywithrequirementsofpowersupply.Itshallbe
providedwithgroundlead,andseparatepowerswitchesandsafeguardstoensure
users
’
safety.
f.Thedeviceshallbeinstalledfarawayfromlargeelectricalequipments,andthe
operatinglocationshallbefreeofquake,corrosiveliquidandstrongelectromagnetic
fieldinterference.

Laythedeviceflatonthetestbench,leavingadistanceofatleast20cmbetweenthe
backsideofthedeviceandthewall.Arrangeapowersocketwithinadistanceofone
meterfromthedevice,andmeanwhileprovideair-breakswitch,anti-creepingswitch
andreliablegrounding.
Connectpipelinesaccordingtoeachpipeinterfaceslistedinthebackelevationofthe
device.Thecondensatewaterinlet(16)isconnectedtothetapwatervalve;
condensatewateroutlet(17)dischargeport(18)arerespectivelyconnectedtothe
draintankthroughthepipedrainsanddischargepipetoensuresmoothdischarge.

Protectionuponcondensatewatersupplyissuspended:wherethetapwatersupply
iscutofforsuspendedasthedeviceisrunning,thedevicewillautomaticallystops
operationtopreventsprayingofheatingsteamscaldingpeople.
Protectionuponsteamgeneratorlackswater:thesteamgeneratorisprovidedwith
waterrefillingfunctions;whenthetanksupplyingthesteamgeneratorislackingwater,
thesteamgeneratorwillautomaticallystopsoperationtopreventthedamagefrom
heatingwithoutwater.
Protectionofsecuritydoor:atransparentanti-corrosivesecuritydoorenables
observationofthewholeprocessofdistillation;ifthesecuritydoorisnotclosedupon
operation,thedevicewilllockuptheoperatingbuttontoprovidesafetyprotection.
Protectionuponsteamgeneratorisunderoverpressure:thesteamgeneratorhas
protectivefunctionsagainstoverpressure,incaseofoverpressure,thepressure
sensorwillautomaticallycutoffthepowersupplytopreventexplosiondueto
overpressure.
Protectionupontesttubeisnotinplace:whenthesystemdetectsthattesttubeisnot
inplaceduringoperation,thedevicewillstopandmakealarmtopreventoverflowof
alkalisolution.
Levelprotectionofsolutiontank:thesolutiontankisprovidedwithlevelsensors;

whenthelevelofanyoftheacidtank,alkalitankorwatertankissolowthatrefilling
isneeded,thesystemwillmakealarm.

Theoperationsoffunctionsattainablebythedeviceintestingsamplesareasfollows:

Diluting:adddistilledwaterintothedigestedsampleinthedigestiontubetodilute.
Addingreagent:includesaddingofalkalisolution,boricacidabsorptionsolution,
titrationacid,etc.
Distilling:addhotsteamintothesampleinthedigestiontubetodistilltheammoniaof
sample.
Titrating:titrateabsorptionliquidwhendistillingorcompletedistilling.
Dischargewaste:dischargewastesinthedigestiontube,receivingcup.
Resultcalculatingandprinting:calculatetheresultandprintitaccordingtooperation.

respectively:adddilutingwater,addboricacid,addalkali,distill,titrate,calculateand
print,discharge,digestiontubecleaningandreceivingcupcleaning,oftherethe
functionsofdigestiontubecleaningandreceivingcupcleaningaresetupasrequired
in[Setup]interfacebeforetheexperimentstarts.
To
ensurethesafetyoftheexperiment,thesystemcollectsanddisplaysallaspects
ofstatusinformationwithrespecttothedeviceonareal-timebasisduringthetest
process,suchaslevelofsteamgenerator,securitydoorinplace,presenceof
condensatewater,digestiontubeinplace,presenceofsolutioninsolutiontank,etc.If
anyabnormalconditionisdetected,thetaskwillbesuspended.Forexample,upon
lackofcondensatewaterordigestiontubenot-in-place,thefollowinginterfacewill
