Safety Instructions
Read t he inst allat ion guide t horoughly before you set up t he swit ch.
The swit ch is a complicat ed el ect ronic unit t hat may be repaired only be aut horized and
qual ified personnel. Do not t ry t o open or repair t he swit ch yourself .
Do not place t he swit ch in a damp or humid place, e. g. a bat hroom.
Do not st ack t he swit ches.
The swit ch should be used i n a shel t ered area, wit hin a t emperat ure r ange of 0 t o +45
Celsius.
Do not expose t he swit ch t o direct sunlight or ot her heat sources. The housing and
el ect ronic component s may be damaged by direct sunlight or heat sources.
Do not deploy t he cable f or LAN connect i on out door t o prevent elect ronic shock hazards.
Keep t he package out of reach of children.
When you want t o dispose of t he swit ch, please f ollow local regulat ions on conservat ion of
t he environment .
Warranty
We warrant t o t he original end user (purchaser) t hat t he swit ch wil l be f ree f rom any defect s in
workmanship or mat erials f or a period of t wo (2) year s f rom t he dat e of purchase f rom t he dealer.
Please keep your purchase receipt in a saf e place as it ser ves as proof of dat e of purchase. During
t he warrant y per iod, and upon proof of purchase, shoul d t he product have indicat i ons of f ail ure
due t o f ault y w orkmanship and/ or mat erials, we will , at our discret ion, repair or replace t he
def ect ive product s or component s, wit hout charge f or eit her part s or labor, t o what ever ext ent
we deem necessary t ore-st ore t he product t o proper operat ing condit ion. Any r eplacement will
consist of a new or re-manuf act ured f unct ional ly equivalent product of equal value, and will be
of fered solely at our discr et ion. This warrant y wi ll not apply if t he product is modif ied, misused,

Interface Description
RJ 45 LNK/ ACT Port 1 ~ 8
PoE f or Port 1 ~ 8
Port 1 t o Port 8 can be used for Et hernet connect ion and PoE connect ion,
depending on t he device connect ed.
Console Used t o perf orm t elnet command cont rol.
SFP LNK/ ACT Por t 9 ~ 10 Port 9 t o Port 10 are used f or f iber connect ion.
RST Fact ory reset but t on.
Press it t o reboot t he syst em. (<5 seconds) The PoE/ Alert and SYS LEDs wi ll
blink t oo.
Press it t o reset t he syst em wit h f act ory defaul t set t ings. (5~20 seconds)
The PoE/ Alert and SYS LEDs will be off if RST but t on is pressed bet ween 5
seconds and 10 seconds.

Use a Cat . 5e t wist ed-pair cable t o connect a PoE device t o t he port (1~8) of
t his swit ch.
The swit ch will supply power t o PoE Device over t he t wist ed-pair cable.
Please not e t hat Power Device must comply wit h IEEE 802.3af/ at .
Ot her PCs, servers and net work devices can be connect ed t o t he swit ch using
a st andard ‘ st raight t hrough’ t wist ed pair cable.
(Take VigorSwit ch P2100 as an example. )

The swit ch can be inst alled easil y by using rack mount kit.
1. At t ach t he bracket s t o t he chassis of a 19- or a
23-inch rack. The second bracket at t aches t he
ot her side of t he chassis as above procedure.
2. Af t er t he bracket inst allat ion, t he
VigorSwit ch’ s chassis can be inst alled in a rack
by using f our screws f or each si de of t he rack.
(Take VigorSwit ch P2100 as an example.)

In t his sect ion, we t ake VigorSwit ch P2100 as an example:
Before using t he swit ch, perf orm t he following st eps:
1. Set up a physical pat h bet ween t he conf igured t he swit ch and a PC by a
qualif ied UTP Cat . 5e cable wit h RJ-45 connect or.
If a PC direct ly connect s t o t he swit ch, you have t o set up t he same subnet mask f or
PC and t he swit ch. Def ault values of t he managed swit ch are list ed as follows:

Subnet Mask 255. 255.255.0
DHCP Client Enabled (On)
Username admin
Password admin
2. Af t er conf iguring correct IP address on your PC, open your web browser and
access swit ch's IP address.
