included).

causedamage to the eyesor skin.It maybe toxicif swallowed.

Low BatteryIndicator appearsinthe display.

from condensation during storage and defrosting. Batteriesshouldbe stabilized at

themyou want Call Waiting CallerIDservice”.After the phonecompanysets upyour
line properly,you will be able to seewho iscallingyou before you decide toswitchyour
callto thenewcaller.
2.If youhave regular Caller IDwith regular CallWaiting,the CallerIDwill onlyshow youthe
firstcaller’sinformation, even though yourcall waiting service works properly.
3.You must tellthe phone company you want Call Waiting CallerIDservice (both together)
in order to have thisphone displaythe second caller evenduring your conversationto
the first caller.
As oftoday’sdate most phonecompaniesprovide4kindsof service:
A. CALLER ID -This showsyou whoiscalling.
B. CALLWAITING -This allowsyou toswitchcallswhen you hear abeep or click.
C. CALLERIDAND CALLWAITING -This willgive you Caller IDand also Call
Waiting, butyour phone will not display thecall waiting caller’sinformation.
NOTE:You do not want this service.
D. CALLWAITINGCALLERID COMBINED (or DELUXE)iswhat you want your phone
company to setup foryou, so that youcan see the callwaitingcaller’sinformation.

1.USING BATTERIES

3.Replace the battery door and snap it shut (FIG.3).
Step2:Powering thePhone
Before you connect the phonecords, followthese steps to install thebatteries:
1.Insertaflat bladescrewdriveror coin likeaquarterintotheslotand pryout(lift)the
battery door(FIG.1).
2.Insert 4size AA”alkaline batteriesas showninside the battery compartment (FIG.2).
CAUTION
Replace the batteries when the lowbattery indicator appears in the display..
•When the batteries aredead, the display will not show.You canstill make or receive calls,
but you can’tuse theCaller IDor memory dialing.
•When the batteries aredead, your dataand settingscould be erased.

2. USING ACOUTLETPOWER (AC Adaptoris optional, not included)
This phone maybe powered fromany household 120V ACoutlet using an AC adaptor(6V
DC output, not included). Insert theadaptor’ssmallconnector pluginto theDC 6V Jack
marked on the rearof the phone, and plug the adaptor into an ACoutlet.
CAUTION:
Topreventelectricshock,donotusetheAC Adaptorwithanextensioncordoroutlet,
unless it canbe fullyinserted without exposing anypart ofthe blades.
NOTE: If theACAdaptor isconnected, andregularbatteriesare installed, the phone
automaticallyswitches to the ACAdaptor power and the batteries are not used.

SETTING UPLCD CONTRAST,LANGUAGE,AREACODE,TIME,DATE
AND DIALMODE
You may needto set up the LCD contrast level, language, area code,time, date and dial
modefor yourtelephone whenyou power your phone forthe first timeor whenyou moveto
an area that hasadifferent areacode.Thisisnecessary becausethe phone must
distinguish localorlong distance calls to properlydial callsfromthe CallerIDlist.
Pressthe MENU button, LCDCONTRAST”willshowin the display. Press theMENU button
again,the following will show in thedisplay(FIG.1). PressUPor DOWN button to choose
the LCD contrast level(1-5).Press the MENU button toconfirmand accept.
Then the displaywillcometo the language setting.
The default language E”( E”=English; F”=French; S”=Spanish)will flash (FIG.2).
Pressthe UP or DOWNbutton to choose your desired language(flashing). Press the MENU
buttontoconfirmandaccept.IfyoudonotpresstheMENUbuttonwithin15seconds,
English will be selected automaticallyand willresumeto the standby mode.
Then the displaywill ask you to set your Area Code:

1. Pick up thehandsetto getadial tone. Thehook icon willshowinthe display..
2. Dial the phone number.Thedialed number appears inthe display.
3. Whenyou finishedtalking, replace the handset into thebase.
RECEIVING ACALL
1. Pick up thehandsetwhen thephone rings. Thehook icon willshowinthe display..
2.Afterafewseconds, the displaywill showtheCount UpCall Timer.
3.When you finished talking, replace the handset into the base.

Yourphone will nowgo to theTime and Datemode, press theUPor DOWN button to getto
the correct number and the MENU button to accept.
You do not haveto set up the Time and Datebecause the telephone company will auto-
maticallyupdate thiswith your Caller IDwhen your phone rings (twice or more).

Then the displaywillask youto select the type of dialing (TONEor PULSE) that you desire
or that yourtelephone systemrequires. Press DOWNor UP buttonto select TONE or
PULSEmode.
TONE -The set will operateusing tone dialing.
PULSE-The set will dial using rotarydial type pulses (clicking sounds).
If you are not sure of your dialing system,make atrial call in TONEmode. If the call
connects, leave the mode asit is; otherwise, set it to PULSE.
Even whenyour phone isset to pulse service,this phone canbe switched to temporary
tone for access to servicesthat require tonesignaling including Telephone Banking. Just
pressthe TONE button afterdialingin pulseand yourbuttonscan now be usedfor
tone signaling for this call only.
Pressthe DELETE button to get back to the standbymode (fordialing)and the normal
displayshows(see belowfor example):
NOTE: Touse caller IDservice, you will probablyneed TONEdialing.

Call Waiting
This feature allowsyou to read fromthe LCD displaythe incoming call information whileyou
are using thetelephone. If you are using the telephone when anewcallcomes in, CW”will
be flashing inthe LCD,and the phonenumber of the newcallerwill appear inthe LCD.By
pressing the FLASHbutton on your telephone, you willput on hold theparty you are having
theconversationwith andyouwill be abletotalktothe new caller,and the CW”icon
disappears fromthe LCD.After you finish the conversation withthe 2nd caller,press
FLASHto return to the1st call (you may also press theHOOKswitch for2seconds).

Storing thePhoneNumbersfromtheCallerIDList
As thephone keeps thedata ofup to 70 calls,if the 71st callcomes in, the phone deletes
theoldest dataautomatically.
Toprevent important data frombeing deleted, you can store theminto the 13 speed dial
memories(3 one-touch or 10two-touch).
1.Displaythe phone numberyou want to store (by pressingUPor DOWN button).
2.PressSTOREbutton. The callnumberisrepeated in the display.
3.Pressthe DIALbuttontochangethe memory dialdigit(7-digit, 10-digit or11-digit).
NOTE:
1. Donot allowmorethan 3seconds to elapsebetweeneach step of the procedure.

1. Ifthe messageissentbythetelephonecompanywhichisprecededbyaring,the message

2. After you have retrieved your message(s), the telephone company willsend aclear signal
(by aring)to yourphone. The message waiting symbol will turn off,and display
