SAFETY PRINCIPLES FOR OPERATION OF EQUIP-
MENT
FOR SPRAYING OF LIQUIDS
Earthing of the equipment (for combustible applied materials)
Under certain circumstances, high ow rates of the liquid and
high spraying pressure can results in generation of the electrostatic
change on the equipment. Its discharge may result in sparks of
ames. Thus the equipment must be earthed for spraying of the
combustible materials. Earthing connection - see Commissioning.
Work with Automatic Gun
Never put your hand and/or ngers in front of the gun. During the
nozzle assembly or disassembly, resp. its cleaning or whenever the
work is interrupted proceed very carefully and ensure that the gun
is always secured against possible activation. This prevents possible
subsequent injury.
Injury of Operator
Injury caused by applied material can be very severe. In case of
the injury immediately search the doctor and notify him on type of
the material causing the injury.
Personal Occupational Protection
During spraying and handling with the applied materials and
during cleaning of the equipment strictly follow the instructions of
manufacturers of the materials. Protect the skin and respiratory tract
by means of the personal protecting equipments (clothes, gloves,
respirators, protecting masks, resp. respirators, protecting creams
etc.).
Pressure Resistance
Adhere to maximum operating pressure of the material, as well
as maximum operating values of compressed air (recommended
values see the technical parameters).
Connecting Hoses
Angular socket couplings enable connection of the control air
hose of outer diameter 6.0mm and of spraying air hose of outer
diameter 8.0mm without need of any special xing pieces. Fittings
for connection of the NH hose is tted with the cap clamping nut for
safe and perfect connection of the hose of diameter 8.0x6.0mm.

5
EcoGun 615
Work Area
Relevant standards apply to spraying and handling with the
combustible liquids. Areas and rooms, where the coating materials
are handled, must be identied and modied in relation to the
coating material combustibility class acc. to applicable standards
and regulations.
If the automatic gun is used and operated in other countries,
then local relevant standards and regulations apply to it.
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
The EcoGun 615 automatic spraying gun is designed to applications
of liquids by pressure supply of the coating material (hereinafter
referred to as NH), glue etc. The gun consists of two functional parts:
»The nozzle system consisting from the jet, stainless insert and
closing pin. The nozzle system creates the spraying pattern.
The pin with the nozzle are manually lapped together to achieve
perfect seal, when the applied material outlet is closed. The nozzle
features special insert enabling perfect seal of the nozzle with
lower tightening force.
»Gun body: Front part of the gun mechanical section is tted with
the stainless insert for applied material with the pin seal preventing
leak of the material supplied under pressure. In relation to type of
the NH, it is possible for t the pin seal from PTFE or from graphite
for particularly abrasive materials. Fittings for connection of the
NH hose is tted with the cap clamping nut for safe and perfect
connection of the PA hose of diameter 8.0x6.0mm. The material
outlet is tted with the M12x1 plug. The outlet serves to easy
cleaning of the connecting channel, resp. for circulation of the
material, resp. it enables connection of two applied materials. The
connecting tting is not part of the supply.
»From the source (transfer pump, pressure tank, resp. central
distribution system) the applied material is supplied to the
gun under pressure. Back part of the gun mechanical section
is tted with a pneumatic cylinder for opening/closing of the
nozzle system with the limit stop screw, resp. pin stroke micro-
control to adjust the stroke, with the wind-vane air „K“ control to
adjust the beam shape (round, oval), atomizing air „A“ control
for spraying of the pressure supplied NH, variable holder with
CAUTION
All workers assigned with operation and maintenance of the equipment must
be provably acquainted wit the safety instruction and with this operation and
maintenance manual!

EcoGun 615
a hole for clamping to the handling unit of diameter 10 mm;
clamping to the handling unit of diameter 8 mm is achieved by
the hole in the gun body by xing socket head screws 3 mm.
Opening of outlet of the applied material and atomizing air is
achieved by a pneumatic cylinder in the gun body.
»The atomizing inlet air supplied by the PU hose of diameter
8.0x6.0mm mm is controlled by the pressure air regulator and
closed / opened by stroke of the gun piston.
»The control air supplied by the PU hose of diameter 6.0x4,0mm
is separately controlled by means of the three-way solenoid
valve. The gun opens by supply of the control air before the
piston. The gun closes by releasing the air before the piston to
atmosphere.
»The atomizing air (A) is controlled by the mechanical regulation
adjusting the atomizing of the pressure supplied NH.
»The wind-vane air (K) is controlled by mechanical regulation
adjusting the beam shape (at or round). After mounting of the
tting for automatic supply of the wind-vane air with a coupling
(not part of the supply, pos. 34, 35), the air can be remotely
controlled through the air control by means of the two-way
solenoid valve.
USE
The EcoGun 615 automatic spraying gun is designed to the
surface treatment of the product by air spraying. The nozzle system
is designed to pressure supply of the applied material. It is suitable
for spraying of the coating materials, however it can be used also for
spraying of other materials, which composition does not adversely
affect the material of the spraying gun. As the coating material path
is made from stainless material, incl. stainless nozzle system, the
gun can be used for almost all applicable materials. In relation to
type of the NH, it is possible for t the pin seal from PTFE (pos.
12, 13, 14, 15) or from graphite (pos. 16, 17, 18) for particularly
abrasive materials. The gun is designed to remote control with
separated supply of air for the gun control and for the spraying itself
(atomizing). Amount of the material and beam shape (at or round)
can be controlled directly on the gun.
For full automatic operation the automatic guns can be optionally
tted by devices for automatic control and programming of the
spraying width („K“ air automatic control, pos. 34, 35). In this case
all advantages of the automatic spraying gun are used.

COMMISSIONING
Before commissioning the gun must be cleaned to remove all
preserving agents by suitable degreaser. Connect the control air and
atomizing air hoses. Connect the NH hose, tighten the sleeve nut to
the NH tting.
Control air is closed via the three-way solenoid valve of approx.
ow rate 150 l/min. The atomizing air is closed by the piston stroke.
Adjust the NH beam shape by the wind-vane air control. Adjust
required pin stroke by the limit stop screw, resp. by the micro-control.
Following designation (identied on the gun body) is used in
principle:
»The push inlet bend tube of diameter 6.0x4.0mm for control air
supply
»The push inlet bend tube of diameter 8.0x6.0mm for atomizing air
supply
»„A“ marked controls means the atomizing air control
»„K“ marked control means the wind-vane air control, resp. wind-
vane air supply (round or fat pattern)
General connection must adhere to the wiring diagram (pg.16).
AUTOMATIC GUN ADJUSTMENT
If the basic maintenance requirements are adhered to, the gun
does not require any special adjustments during its operation.
During disassembly and assembly due to replacement of the
nozzle system and/or worn parts it is necessary to check adjustment
of following elements.
Adjustment
»Pin packing: the design is based on manually tightened
arrangement of the packing assembly. If the packing does not
seal, it is necessary to tighten the packing assembly screw. In
CAUTION
The equipment must be earthed in case of use of the application materials
with the ignition point below 21°C (NITRO etc.) and substances of the II
hazardous class warmed up due to operating needs above their ignition
point. Earthing must be done through the gun holder after installation of the
washer of diameter 8.4 acc. to ČSN 021744 below the holder nut. Earthing
must be done by the metal conductor, preferably by steel rope of diameter
5 mm, resp. copper wire of min. cross-section 4 mm.

9
EcoGun 615
relation to type of the NH, it is possible for t the pin seal from
PTFE or from graphite for particularly abrasive materials.
»Advance: set the pin length in the piston to create clearance
approx. 1.5 mm between the piston and the pin nut face and
secure with the locking nut. This advance ensures opening of the
atomizing air before inlet of the NH.
Hose InstAllAtIon
Connect the PA NH hose of diameter 8.0x6.0mm into the clamping
ring (29) of the tting with the metal reinforcement of the hose end
(27), tighten the sleeve nut (28) for safe connection of the hose.
To transport of combustible liquids the hose must be electrostatic
conductive. The hose is to be connected by the clamp M14x1.5 (not
part of the supply). Connect the PU hose for the control air supply
of diameter 6.0x4.0mm and the atomizing air supply of diameter
8.0x6.0mm to relevant push angular couplings.
OPERATION
Important presumption of the proper gun function is adjustment
and proper maintenance of the gun, particularly cleanness and
cleaning after each use.
To achieve high-quality spraying pattern it is necessary to take
care of the clean nozzle system (particularly cleanness of the annular
between the jet and the nozzle neck).
Liquid outlet amount from the nozzle can be controlled by
limitation of the pin stroke by the limit stop screw (recommended
only if the transferred liquid pressure may not be decreased).
CAUTION
Power control in the nozzle results in higher wearing of the parts.
Do not immerse the gun permanently to solvents, as it results in lower
operation life of the sealing.

10
EcoGun 615
