Der innovative Abschäumer EHEIM SKIM Marine, bietet optimale Leistung bei höch-
ster Zuverlässigkeit und größter Effektivität. Die Nadelradpumpe EHEIM compact+
marine ist hochwertig verarbeitet und arbeitet äußerst zuverlässig. Die neuartige Na-
delradkonstruktion ermöglicht der leistungsstarken Pumpe in ombination mit der
Venturi-Einheit einen optimalen Lufteintrag und generiert so eine überdurchschnittliche
Abschäumerleistung. Der EHEIM SKIM Marine befreit Ihr Meerwasseraquarium
schnell und zuverlässig von organischen und anorganischen Eiweißverbindungen. Die
Eiweißverbindungen, die aus Futterresten, abgestorbenen Mikroorganismen und
Ausscheidungen von Fischen und Niederen Tieren stammen, lagern sich an die von der
Nadelradpumpe EHEIM compact+ marine erzeugten Luftbläschen mittels statischer
Anziehung bzw. Adsorption an und werden zusammen mit Schmutzpartikeln, toten Zellen
von Bakterien, Algen usw., als Schmutzschaum (Flotat) aus dem Aquariumwasser ent-
fernt. Dadurch wird verhindert, dass die Eiweißverbindungen im Aquarium von Bakterien
abgebaut werden und das Aquarienwasser mit Schadstoffen belasten.
Bevor Sie Ihren EHEIM SKIM Marine mit Nadelradpumpe EHEIM compact+ marine
in Betrieb nehmen oder Wartungsarbeiten durchführen, lesen Sie bitte diese
Gebrauchsanleitung sorgfältig.

Vor der Inbetriebnahme dieses Gerätes diese Bedienungsanleitung und die
Sicherheitshinweise aufmerksam lesen und beachten. Die Bedienungsanlei-
tung unbedingt gut aufbewahren.

Zum Schutz vor zu hoher Berührungsspannung muss die Installation eine Fehlerstrom-
schutzeinrichtung mit einem Bemessungs-Auslösefehlerstrom von nicht mehr als 30 mA
aufweisen. Fragen Sie Ihren Elektrofachmann.
Bevor man mit der Hand ins Aquarienwasser eintaucht, sind alle im Wasser befindlichen
Elektrogeräte vom etz zu trennen.
Die etzanschlussleitung dieses Gerätes kann nicht ersetzt werden. Bei Beschädigung
der etzanschlussleitung ist das Gerät zu verschrotten. Pumpe niemals am Kabel tragen;
Kabel nicht knicken.
Die Pumpe darf nicht trocken laufen. Temperaturbereich von +4°C bis max. +35°C. Der
Motor ist gegen Überhitzung gesichert.

Zu Ihrer eigenen Sicherheit empfiehlt es sich, mit dem Anschlusskabel eine
Tropfschlaufe zu bilden, die verhindert, dass eventuell am Kabel entlang lau-
fendes Wasser in die Steckdose gelangt.
Bei Verwendung einer Verteiler-Steckdose oder eines externen etzteils,
muss die Platzierung oberhalb des Pumpen- etzanschlusses erfolgen.
Bei diesen Geräten können Magnetfelder elektronische oder mechanische
Störungen oder Beschädigungen hervorrufen. Dies gilt auch für Herzschritt-
macher. Die erforderlichen Sicherheitsabstände sind den Handbüchern dieser medizini-
schen Geräte zu entnehmen.
Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren und darüber sowie von Personen mit verrin-
gerten physischen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfahrung
und Wissen benutzt zu werden, wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder bezüglich des sicheren
Gebrauchs des Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und die daraus resultierenden Gefahren ver-
stehen. Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen. Reinigung und Benutzer-Wartung dür-
fen nicht von Kindern ohne Beaufsichtigung durchgeführt werden.
Vor dem Öffnen des Gerätes unbedingt die Anleitung zu Wartungsarbeiten lesen.
Gerät – oder Teile davon – nicht in der Spülmaschine reinigen. icht spülmaschinenbe-

C Inbetriebnahme
Abschäumer in das Filterbecken stellen. kFür den optimalen Betrieb sollte der
Wasserstand im Filterbecken 180 bis 240mm betragen. Da Veränderungen im
Wasserstand die Abschäumung direkt beeinflussen wird empfohlen eine automati-
sche Niveauregulierung zu verwenden. Pumpe über Netzstecker in Betrieb nehmen.
Durch Drehen des Leistungsreglers von min. (-) und max. (+) kann die
Durchflussmenge auf Wunsch eingestellt werden (Abb. o)
B Montage
Schaumbecher mit beiden Händen umfassen und Bajonettverschluß mit einer
viertel Drehung gegen den Uhrzeigersinn öffnen. Dann Schaumbecher abnehmen.
aLösen der vier Befestigungsschrauben  und Schäumer-Gehäuse abheben.
bLösen der Verschraubung des Reaktionskammerdeckels .
cAbheben der Reaktionskammer  mit Deckel.
dBodenplatte des Abschäumers von oben, auf den Pumpenausgangsstutzen der
Schäumerpumpe so aufsetzen, dass die Schäumerpumpe von der Bodenplatte
komplett abgedeckt ist und der Pumpenausgangsstutzen nach oben durch die
Bohrung geführt wird.
eMit ontermutter  den Ausgangsstutzen der Schäumerpumpe in der Bodenplatte
so fixieren, dass die Schäumerpumpe ca. 3 - 4 mm Abstand zum Boden hat.
fReaktionskammer  auf Bodenplatte in Ringnut aufsetzen.
gVor der Montage des Reaktionskammerdeckels bitte folgendes beachten: den
Deckel der Reaktionskammer  unbedingt so montieren, dass sich der Abschnitt
des Reaktionskammerdeckels , der keine Bohrungen aufweist, direkt über dem
Pumpenausgang befindet.
hGehäuse montieren und die Befestigungsschrauben  anziehen.
iSchalldämpfer mit Befestigungsschraube am Gehäuserand montieren und über
den Luftschlauch mit der Venturi-Düse  verbinden.
jVenturi-Düse mit Druck in den Pumpeneingang der Schäumerpumpe einsetzen.
D Einstellen des Abschäumers
lSicherstellen, dass das Feinregelventil voll geöffnet ist (Schieber durch Drehen der
Rändelmutter im Uhrzeigersinn nach oben ziehen) und die Pumpe starten. Danach
Feinregelventil langsam schließen (Schieber durch Drehen der Rändelmutter gegen

den Uhrzeigersinn nach unten regeln) bis sich der Wasserstand im Abschäumer
zwischen dem Bajonettverschluss und dem Schaumbecher einpegelt.
Luftzufuhrventil halb öffnen ( unststoffschraube gegen den Uhrzeigersinn 1 - 2
mm nach oben drehen) und für ein bis zwei Tage in dieser Einstellung belassen
(Einlaufphase).
Wenn die Schaumbildung nach der Einlaufphase beginnt, kann die Feinjustierung
für die optimale Abschäumung durch Einstellen des Luftzufuhrventils und des
Feinregelventils vorgenommen werden.
mZusätzlich besteht auch die Möglichkeit die geförderte Wassermenge direkt an der
Schäumerpumpe einzustellen
nFür eine trockene Abschäumung, die Einstellschraube des Feinregelventils im
Uhrzeigersinn drehen und den Schieber nach oben ziehen. Für eine feuchte
Abschäumung, die Einstellschraube gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen. Eheim-
Abschäumer können mit Ozon bis max. 50mg/Std mit einem geeigneten
Silikonschlauch betrieben werden.
Tipp: Ozonmenge 5-10mg/Std. pro 100 Liter Seewasser. T-Stück am Lufteinlass der
Pumpe installieren. Ein Ende des T-Stückes mit dem Schalldämpfer verbinden, das
andere Ende mit dem Ozongerät. Durch eine Verringerung der Luftzufuhr (Schließen
des Luftzufuhrventils) wird die Ozonansaugung wesentlich verbessert.
E Wartung und Pflege
Netzstecker ziehen. Pumpe vom EHEIM SKIM Marine trennen. Die vier Schrauben
mittels Schraubendreher öffnen und das Pumpengehäuse nach vorne abziehen p .
Die komplette Nadelradeinheit herausnehmen q . Alle Pumpenteile gründlich auswa-
schen und mit dem Eheim Bürsten-Set (Art. Nr. 4009560) reinigen. Alle Dichtungen
auf Verschmutzungen und auf korrekten Sitz überprüfen. Bei Beschädigungen den
Dichtungsring erneuern. Anschließend alle Teile in der entsprechenden Reihenfolge
wieder zusammensetzen r .
Hinweis: Wir empfehlen, Dichtungen nach ca. 3 Jahren zu erneuern. Verkalkungen an
Teilen des Abschäumers durch alkrotalgen etc., können durch Einlegen der betroffe-
nen Teile in 10%ige Zitronensäurelösung entfernt werden. Anschließend mit Wasser
gut abspülen. Zum Reinigen des Abschäumers oder Teilen davon auf keinen Fall
Spülmittel oder sonstige Detergenzien verwenden, sondern nur Leitungswasser.
Garantie
Dem Endabnehmer dieses Gerätes leisten wir 3 Jahre Garantie, die mit dem Tag der
Lieferung an ihn beginnen. Voraussetzung ist, dass dieser Garantieschein vom

marine by means of static warming or adsorption and are removed from the aquarium

A “drip loop”, shown in the figure below, should be arranged by the user for each
cord connecting the aquarium appliance to a receptacle.
The “drip loop” is that part of the cord below the level of the receptacle, to prevent
water travelling along the cord and coming in contact with the receptacle.
• If the plug or receptacle does get wet, DO ’T
unplug the cord, disconnect the fuse or circuit
breaker that supplies power to the appliance. Then
unplug and examine for presence of water in the
receptacle.

Safety instructions
Read the operating and safety instructions carefully and comply with all
instructions prior to operating this device. Keep these operating instructions
in a safe place.
For indoor use only. For use with aquariums.
To protect against contact voltage being too high, the fixture must have a residual
current device with a rated release fault current not exceeding 30 mA. Ask your
electrician.
Before putting your hand into the water in the aquarium, disconnect all electric
equipment in the water from the power supply.
The connecting line of this device can not be replaced. When the line is damaged, the
device must no longer be used. ever carry the pump by the cable; do not bend the
cable.
The pump should not run dry. Temperature range from +4°C up to max. +35°C. The motor
is protected from overheating.
For your own safety we recommend that you make a drip loop with the power
cord. This drip loop prevents any water running along the cord from reaching
the electrical socket.
If an extension lead with several sockets or an external power supply is used,
place it above the pump power connection.
Such items can cause electronic or mechanical interference or damage.
This also applies to pacemakers. The necessary safety distances can be
found in the instruction manuals for such medical equipment.

B Assembly
Grasp the foam cup with both hands and open the bayonet catch by rotating by
one quarter anticlockwise. Then remove foam cup .
aRelease the fixing screws and lift out skimmer housing.
bRelease the screws on the reaction chamber lid .
cLift out the reaction chamber with lid.
dPlace the bottom plate of the skimmer from above on to the skimmer pump
discharge sockets in such a way that the bottom plate entirely covers the skimmer

pump and that the pump discharge sockets are guided upwards through the
apertures.
eApply the lock nut to fix the discharge sockets of the skimmer pump to the bottom
plate in such a way that the skimmer pump has a gap of approx. 3 - 4 mm to the bottom.
fPlace the reaction chamber  on to the ring groove in the bottom plate.
gBefore you fit the reaction chamber lid please observe the following: the lid of
the reaction chamber must be fitted in such a way that the section of the
reaction chamber lid that has no apertures is located directly above the pump outlet.
hFit the housing and tighten the fixing screws .
iFit the silencer using the fixing screw on the edge of the housing and connect
via with the venturi system using the air hose.
jApply pressure to the venturi system to connect with the pump discharge on the
skimmer pump.
C Commissioning
Place the skimmer in the lower cabinet filter tank. kIn order to ensure optimum
operation the water level in the filter tank should be 180 to 240 mm. Given that
changes in the water level directly affect skimming, it is recommended to use an
automatic level control. Switch on the pump by connecting the mains adapter. Adjust
the throughput volume as desired by altering the power control between min. (-) and
max. (+) (fig. o)
D Setting the skimmer
lEnsure that the precision control valve is fully open (pull the slide upwards by
turning the knurled nut clockwise ) and start the pump. Afterwards slowly close the
precision control valve (set the slide downwards by turning the knurled nut
anticlockwise) until the water level evens out between the bayonet catch and the
foam cup.
Half open the air intake valve (turn the plastic screw anticlockwise 1 - 2 mm
upwards) and leave in this position for 1-2 days (start-up phase). Once foam
begins to form after the start-up phase proceed to the precision adjustment of
skimming performance by adjusting the air intake valve and the precision control
valve.
mIt is also possible to set the desired water transport volume directly on the
skimmer pump

nTurn the setting screw on the precision control valve clockwise and pull the slide
upwards in order to ensure dry skimming. Turn the knurled nut anticlockwise to
ensure moist skimming. Eheim skimmers with ozone up to max. 50mg/hours can
be operated using a suitable silicon hose.
Tip: Ozone volume 5-10mg/hour per 100 litres of seawater. Fit the T-piece to the air
intake on the pump. Connect one side of the T-piece with the silencer, the other end
with the ozone device. The ozone extraction is significantly improved by reducing the
air intake (closing the air intake valve).
E Maintenance and cleaning
Disconnect the mains adapter. Separate the pump from the EHEIM SKIM Marine.
Use a screwdriver to open the four screws and pull the pump housing forwards p .
Remove the entire needle wheel unit q . Thoroughly rinse all pump components and
clean using the Eheim brush set (item no. 4009560). Check that all gaskets are free
of dirt and sit correctly. If the sealing ring is damaged, please replace. Then reas-
semble all components in the correct sequence r .
ote: We recommend replacing gaskets approximately every 3 years. Remove
calcification on components of the skimmer caused by coralline red algae and such
like by submerging the parts in question in a 10 % citric acid solution. Then rinse
thoroughly with water. On no accounts use washing up liquid or other detergents to
clean the skimmer or its components; only use tap water.
Guarantee
We shall give the ultimate buyer of this device a three-year guarantee that begins on
the date of delivery to him. This applies on the condition that the certificate of
guarantee was filled out by the dealer. This guarantee covers material and installation
errors but not damage due to external influences or improper handling. It will be given
at our own option by replacement or repair of the defective parts.
Further claims towards us do not exist, in particular we shall not assume any liability
for consequential damage that arises due to this device insofar as this is permitted by
law. In the event of damage, send the completed certificate of guarantee with the
device to be checked to one of our customer service offices or to the responsible
agency.

La pompe ne doit pas marcher à sec. À utiliser entre +4°C et 35°C max. Le moteur est
protégé contre la surchauffe.

Pour votre propre sécurité, nous vous recommandons de former un col de
cygne avec le câble électrique pour éviter que l’eau s’écoulant
éventuellement de long du câble ne pénètre dans la prise. En utilisant par
exemple une multiprise, celle-ci doit être placée plus haut que la prise de
secteur du filtre.

B Montage
Tenir le récipient avec les deux mains et ouvrir la fermeture à baïonnette en la
faisant tourner un quart de tour dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d'une montre.
Ensuite, détacher le récipient .
aDesserrer les quatre vis de fixation et détacher le boitier de l'écumeur.
bDesserrer les vis du couvercle du compartiment de réaction .
cDétacher le compartiment de réaction avec couvercle.
dPlacer la plaque de fond de l'écumeur d'en haut sur le support de sortie de la
pompe, de façon à ce que la pompe soit complètement recouverte par la plaque de
fond et le support de sortie de la pompe aille vers le haut, à travers le trou percé.
eAvec le contre-écrou , fixer le support de sortie de la pompe à la plaque de fond,
de sorte que la pompe de l'écumeur soit à environ 3-4 mm de distance du fond.
fPoser le compartiment de réaction sur la plaque de fond dans la gorge de retenue.
gAvant le montage du couvercle du compartiment de réaction , faire attention à ce
que le couvercle du compartiment de réaction soit monté impérativement de
sorte que la section du couvercle du compartiment de réaction , qui ne présente
aucun trou percé, se trouve directement au-dessus de la sortie de la pompe.
hMonter le boitier et enfiler les vis de fixation .

iMonter l'amortisseur de son avec la vis de fixation au bord du boitier et
raccorder par-dessus le tuyau pneumatique avec le tube Venturi .
jInsérer vigoureusement le tube Venturi dans l'entrée de la pompe de l'écumeur.
C Mise en service
Placer l'écumeur dans la partie inférieure du bac de filtration. kPour un
fonctionnement optimal, le niveau de l'eau dans le bac de filtration doit être entre 180
et 240 mm. Comme des changements dans le niveau de l'eau influencent directement
l'écumage, nous vous recommandons d'utiliser un régulateur électronique du niveau
d'eau. Brancher la pompe à une prise courant. En tournant le régulateur de puissance
du minimum (-) au (+), il est possible de régler la quantité d'écoulement souhaitée
(schéma o).
D Réglage de l'écumeur
lS'assurer que la soupape régulatrice de précision est entièrement ouverte (tirer la
vanne vers le haut en tournant l'écrou moleté dans le sens des aiguilles d'une
montre) et démarrer la pompe. Ensuite, fermer lentement la soupape régulatrice de
précision (tirer la vanne vers le bas en tournant l'écrou moleté dans le sens
contraire des aiguilles d'une montre) jusqu'à ce que le niveau de l'eau dans
l'écumeur se stabilise entre la fermeture à baïonnette et le récipient de l'écumeur.
Ouvrir de moitié la soupape de ventilation (tourner la vis en plastique 1 - 2 mm vers
le haut dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre) et laisser tel quel pendant un à
deux jours (phase de mise en route).
Lorsque l'écume se forme après la phrase de mise en route, vous pourrez
effectuer un ajustement précis de l'écumage souhaité en réglant la soupape de
ventilation et la soupape régulatrice de précision.
mDe plus, il est possible de régler la quantité d'eau souhaitée directement à la pompe de
l'écumeur.
nPour un écumage sec, tourner la vis de réglage de la soupape régulatrice de précision
dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre et tirer la vanne vers le haut. Pour un écumage
humide, tourner l'écrou moleté dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d'une montre. Les
écumeurs EHEIM peuvent fonctionner avec de l'ozone jusqu'à max. 50 mg/h grâce à un
tuyau en silicone adapté.
Conseil : Quantité d'ozone : 5-10 mg/h par 100 litres d'eau douce. Installer le T au niveau
de l'entrée d'air de la pompe. Relier un bout du T à l'amortisseur de son, et relier l'autre
bout à l'appareil de production d'ozone. La diminution de la ventilation (en fermant la sou-
pape de ventilation), permet d'améliorer grandement la sortie d'ozone.

E Entretien et nettoyage
Débrancher. Séparer la pompe de l'écumeur EHEIM SKIM Marine. Desserrer les vis
à l'aide d'un tournevis et tirer le boitier de la pompe vers l'avant p. Retirer toute
l'unité de la roue à aiguilles q. Nettoyer minutieusement sous l'eau tous les
éléments de la pompe avec le kit de brosses EHEIM (art. n° 4009560). Vérifier que
tous les joints sont propres et bien fixés. Remplacer le joint d'étanchéité s'il est
endommagé. Ensuite, remonter toutes les pièces dans l'ordre correspondant r.
Remarque: Nous recommandons de remplacer les joints environ tous les 3 ans. Pour
détartrer les parties entartrées de l'écumeur, par exemple par des algues rouges
calcaires, faites-les tremper dans une solution contenant 10 % d'acide citrique.
Ensuite, rincer abondamment avec de l'eau. Ne jamais utiliser de liquide vaisselle ou
autre détergent pour nettoyer l'écumeur ou ses parties. Utiliser uniquement de l'eau
courante pour nettoyer l'appareil.
Garantie

de l’appareil. Pour en bénéficier, le bon de garantie ci-joint doit impérativement être
rempli par le revendeur. La garantie couvre les défauts du matériel et de montage
mais ne s’étend pas aux dommages causés par des éléments extérieurs ou par une
utilisation non conforme. Elle consiste, à notre choix, en un remplacement ou une
réparation des pièces défectueuses. Aucun autre recours ne pourra être élevé contre
nous, nous n’assumons notamment, dans la mesure où la loi le permet, aucune
responsabilité pour tout dommage indirect causé par l’appareil. Pour faire valoir la
garantie, envoyer le bon de garantie rempli et l’appareil à vérifier à notre service
après-vente ou à votre revendeur agréé.
