FlexScan Widescreen Monitors
Need a little extra space?
FEATURES
Widescreen Format
Both monitors employ a 16:10 aspect ratio as opposed to the 4:3
ratio of conventional screens. The increased horizontal space this
affords means you can keep tool palettes open without covering the
window you’re working on. You can also view two windows or two
applications with no overlap. And because the 16:10 aspect ratio is
almost the same as the 16:9 used by DVDs, you can enjoy movies with
minimal black borders at the top and bottom of the screen.
Fast Response Time
To ensure that movies and other moving images look clean and
sharp, with an absolute minimum of blurring and ghosting, both
monitors feature fast response time. An overdrive circuit smooths im-
age flow by adjusting the voltage input for each frame based on image
data from the three previous frames (more accurate than using only
one or two frames). Commonly used in LCD TVs, overdrive improves
midtone response time — the time required to transmit gray levels
— to 8 ms for both monitors.

Conventional monitor: working
space and tool palettes overlap.
Widescreen monitor: full working space
and tool palettes are displayed
simultaneously with no overlap.
Stretch out, with EIZO
widescreen monitors.
Whether you use your current monitor for work or
entertainment or both, you probably wish at times
that you had a little extra horizontal space. The FlexScan
S2410W and S2110W have 24.1" and 21.1" screens respec-
tively and a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing the widescreen view
you want for movies and games, as well as for 3-D CAD and
graphic design applications. With their fast response time, high
contrast ratio and outstanding brightness, they are truly high
performance monitors, delivering smooth, accurate and
natural reproduction of moving as well as still images.
Both models are designed to make operation easy and
efficient, with electrostatic touch switches on the front
panel and EIZO’s latest ArcSwing 2 stand for
easy, flexible positioning.
1000:1 Contrast Ratio
This outstanding contrast performance makes images on dark
backgrounds appear more vivid, brings out the subtle differences in
similar shades of color, and ensures that colors retain their richness
even in brightly lit rooms.
450 cd/m2 Brightness
With high brightness of 450 cd/m2, the same as high quality LCD
TVs, these monitors present a clear view even in bright environments.
This performance is made possible by a direct backlighting system,
which also provides higher power efficiency and better uniformity.
14-Bit Processing for Accurate Color Reproduction
These widescreen monitors incorporate a powerful new EIZO-
developed ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) with 14-bit
color processing capability (16 times more accurate than 10-bit). This
allows a larger number of grayscale increments, for smooth grayscale
rendering. The result is a much greater degree of color detail, espe-
cially in dark areas and shadows.

With 10-bit processing, the error rate is high in low tonal areas during calcula-
tion. With 14-bit processing, accuracy is significantly improved resulting in
fewer conversion errors.
Fine Contrast Mode Selection
For optimum viewing of all types of content, the Fine Contrast
function allows the selection of five imaging modes: Text, Picture,
Movie, Custom, and sRGB. Each mode has its own settings for im-
age parameters such as color temperature, gamma and brightness.
You can navigate between the modes simply by pressing a button on
the front panel. For further convenience, a Fine Contrast mode can
be assigned to any application with the bundled ScreenManager® Pro
for LCD utility software. When the application is opened, the screen
automatically changes to its assigned mode.
Detailed Color Control
Gamma, saturation, hue, gain, and color temper-
ature from 4,000 K to 10,000 K can all be adjusted
in the OSD menu for accurate, natural display of
color. For fine-tuning of even a single color, the hue
and saturation settings for red, green, blue, cyan,
magenta, and yellow can be adjusted independently.
ArcSwing 2 Stand
The ArcSwing 2 stand is a significant
improvement over conventional monitor
stands, adjusting through a large arc-
shaped range of movement. You can
position it at eye level or at a low
angle akin to reading a book, for
best viewing no matter how and
where you are using the monitor. In
addition, this stand features a sturdy
base and a compartment for cable management.
Touch Sensitive Switches
You have quick ac-
cess to a variety of
functions via highly
sensitive electrostatic
“touch” switches on the front panel.
Presenting a sophisticated appearance, they are also easier to engage
than the small buttons of most LCD monitors.
