IMPORANT
The PR6 is not recommended for use with the K3S transceiver or
a K3 transceiver equipped with the upgraded "B" version of the
optional KXV3 module (KXV3B). The KXV3B is standard
equipment on all K3S transceivers and is available as an upgrade
for K3 transceivers. The KXV3B offers two preamplifiers, the
original preamplifier (PRE1) and a +20 dB ultra low-noise
preamplifier for weak signal work on the 12, 10 and 6 meter
bands (PRE2).
Using both the ultra low-noise preamplifier provided in the
KXV3B and an external preamplifier would unnecessarily
subject the K3 to overload while not providing any additional
sensitivity.
If you have a K3 and are not sure whether it is equipped with
the KXV3B upgrade, check by holding CONFIG to enter the
configuration menu and turning VFO B to locate PREAMP2 On
in the menu. If the KXV3B is installed an enabled, PREAMP2 On
will appear immediately after PB CTRL as you scroll through the
menu.

Input: If you are adding the preamplifier to a K3 that already has the
optional KPAK3AUX cable attached to the AUX output and you
want to switch the PR6 on and off when the 6-meter band is selected
with the DIGOUT1 signal, connect the DB-15 Y cable supplied with
the KPAK3AUX cable set and the DE15 Line Interrupter supplied
with your PR6 as shown below.
