Deluxe Memory Man
ANALOG DELAY WITH CHORUS/VIBRATO
Congractulations on your purchase of the Deluxe Memory Man with
Chorus/Vibrato. The Deluxe Memory Man is designed with state-of-the-art
solid state circuitry to give you years of high quality, trouble free
performance. The EH XO version of the Deluxe Memory Man is an exact
reissue of the original Deluxe Memory Man with one upgrade: true bypass.
-- POWER --
- OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS and CONTROLS –
Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack, and the OUTPUT jack into the input of your
amp. Your Memory Man can be used in combination with other effects devices —
experiment to develop your own unique sound. The bypass footswitch on top of the
unit allows you to switch the effect in and out. Unmodified signal is always available
at the DIRECT OUT jack. Set the LEVEL control so that the OVERLOAD LED blinks
on with the loudest notes you play, but does not come on very brightly or too
frequently. Overdriving the unit will cause distortion.
The BLEND control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals; it is set
to the center position equal levels of both.
The FEEDBACK provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. If set very high, runaway
oscillation will occur. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb
effect.
The DELAY control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and
between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie and unusual pitch-shift
effects can be produced by changing the delay while playing, especially while using
feedback.
The CHORUS/VIBRATO switch allows you to choose between Chorus or Vibrato
mode. The DEPTH control sets the amount of modulation in the delay time. The
modulation rate is slow for chorus and faster for vibrato. The Vibrato mode produces
a “Doppler” pitch shifting effect in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is
produced with the switch set to CHORUS, delay fairly short, blend at the center,
chorus set high, and feedback fairly high. When you determine the control settings
for your favorite effects, make note of them so you can quickly set up the unit before
playing.
The FOOTSWITCH engages/disengages the effect. If the effect is engaged, the
status LED above the footswitch will light up. In true-bypass mode, the status LED is
off.
Unplug after use. Avoid operating near moisture. Rock-n-Roll!
Warning: Your unit comes equipped with a 24 Volt/100mA AC external power
adapter. Use only the power adapter supplied, and make sure it is appropriate to your
location (USA, Europe, Japan, Australia). Use of the wrong adapter can cause damage
to the unit or to you, and will void the warranty. Connect the included 24DC/100mA AC
A
dapter to the Power Jack, located at the top center of the Deluxe Memory Man.
