4.1.2 Thermostat

T e ot plates are controlled via t e bimetallic contact P 1-2. T e input voltage of 230 V is applied
ere.
Depending on t e position of t e knob, t is contact determines ow often t e ot plate is switc ed
on or off during a certain unit of time by cycling t e maximum eating power (230 V or 0 V between
contact 2 and 4) (refer to performance c aracteristic).
Continuous operation at max. eating power is ot plate 9.
T e power c aracteristic s ows t e power controller in cycling mode.
T e average switc ing on period for eac knob position can be read off in % of t e cycled and/or
max. power.

T e temperature can be selected according to t e knob position.
After beginning of work, contact 1-2 is closed.
To c eck t e t ermostat, measure t e temperature in t e muffle. Determine t e following
temperatures:
- Hot air 160 °C ± 15 °C
- Conventional 200 °C ± 15 °C
- Pyrolysis 485 °C ± 20 °C
If a temperature is found w ic is beyond t e tolerance value, replace t e t ermostat.
4.1.3 Clock (simple electronic timer)

4.2 Appliances with pyrolysis
4.2.1 Door lock
T e appliances wit pyrolytic self-cleaning system are provided wit a specific door lock system
(Fig. 1) T is system prevents opening of t e baking oven door wit t e pyrolysis switc ed on. T e
lock system is operated wit 2 eated bimetallic elements w ic move a bar into position w ic
t en eit er blocks or releases t e lock lever at t e baking oven door. T e system functions during
t e pyrolysis process independent of t e electrical voltage.
T e door lock is switc ed on at a temperature of t e muffle centre of gravity (temperature in centre
of baking oven) of 312 °C. Unlocking is at a temperature of approx. 180 °C via a Klixon (f11 in wiring
diagram). T e Klixon is arranged at t e transverse beam beside t e ot air motor (Fig. 2).

As soon as a voltage of 230 V is applied to t e contacts 3 and 4, t e bar A moves to t e ot er side
after 2  10 seconds and blocks t e lock lever mec anically. T e door cannot be opened. At t e
same time, t e internal contact B opens and disconnects t e lock pat . T e switc contacts 33/
34 close and signal t at door lock is completed. T e electronic signal completes t e lock signal.
Internal contact C closes.
For unlocking, a voltage of 230 V must be applied to contacts 2 and 3. T e bar A moves
backwards and releases t e lock lever. T e door can be opened provided t at t e contact f11
(Klixon) is closed.

4.2.2 Micro switch for telescopic runner
T e appliances wit pyrolytic self-cleaning system are provided wit a micro switc . T e switc
contact is interrupted wit t e grates suspended. T us t e self-cleaning function cannot be
activated. T e contact closes and self-cleaning is possible wit t e telescopic runners removed.
4.2.3 Temperature and function controllers
Bot wit t e temperature controller and t e function controller, eac angular degree of switc
turning c anges an existing voltage value and/or resistance value. T us turning t e switc results in
a c ange of t e existing temperature at t e eater or of t e mode of operation. Control is via t e
Prisma basic power board.

4.2.4 Temperature sensor
T e temperature in t e baking oven is measured by a temperature sensor (type PT 500) for
appliances wit control board. T e sensor is provided at t e rear of t e appliance. It is used to
transmit to t e electronic systems t e values for:
- cyclic eating t e radiators until t e selected temperature is reac ed;
- switc off t e radiators in case of over eating of defective sensor;
- switc ing ON/OFF t e cooling fan.

4.2. Prisma basic power board
T e Prisma basic power board controls t e following range functions:
- Operation of radiators
- Operation of ot air blower
- Operation of cooling fan
- Optical display via signal lamps
- Automatic door lock during t e pyrolysis process
according to values to be selected at t e temperature and function controller. T e Prisma basic
power board includes a power pack, 4 relays to control t e eaters and ot er semi-conductor
components and a fine-wire fuse (sluggis , 63 mA).
Fine-wire fuse
T e fuse is arranged at t e primary side of t e power pack. If t is fuse is defective, t e appliance
does not function and t e displays and lig ting system are out of service.
Important: Appliances with Prisma basic power board are not provided with a test program!
T e supply voltage of 230 V for t e power board and t e consumers is applied at t e main supply
connection.
For t e ot er measuring points for small loads, door lock and eaters please refer to t e block
diagrams.

5. Operation of the setting and operating units
5.1 Setting/modifying the time

Period of function
1. Press t e ¿ key until t e period function lamp

2. Set t e desired cooking time at t e keys + or - .
3. Wait for 5 seconds. T e display returns to time. T e
period function lamp lig ts and t e baking oven is
ON immediately. W en t is time is elapsed, t e
function lamp flas es, an acoustic signal is given
and t e baking oven switc es OFF.
4. Press any key to clear t is signal.
