Therapeutic! This complete cause and effect motivational center has
been specially-designed for use in therapeutic and educational
environments. The center includes three different toys that are
activated by interchangeable switch pads. The child has a choice of
using a round, square, or triangle plate or one large single switch panel
overlay. The pads give visual and tactile cues for the child, while the
toys atop the center provide auditory, visual, and somatosensory
stimulation. The package comes with three battery operated toys,
switch pads and three cords so that any other adapted toy can be used.
Size: 22" x 11" x 2". Requires 4 AA Batteries and 2 C Batteries.
The toys, which attach with Velcro to the top of the unit, are activated
by light pressure on three differently colored, Velcro-covered, built-in
switches. The three switch pads can be interchanged with an oval,
square and triangular plate (attachable with Velcro); or by one large
switch panel overlay (also attachable with Velcro), which will
simultaneously activate any toy(s) plugged into the unit.
This center provides an environment for developing fine and gross
motor planning, as well as eye-hand coordination. The switch pads
give visual and tactile cues for a child, while the toys on top of the
center provide auditory, visual, and somatosensory stimulation.
Mounted on a sturdy base, this unit can be secured to any smooth
surface by means of the attached suction cups.
Operation:
1. The Multisensory Motivational Center does not require batteries;
however, the toys that the unit activates do require batteries. Check
each toy for the size of batteries required. Alkaline batteries are
recommended because they last longer. Do not use rechargeable
batteries because they supply lower voltage and the toys may not
perform as well.
2. To set up the unit connect a cord to each toy via the three jacks on
the back of the unit. The Multisensory Motivational Center comes
with 1/8-inch jacks, 1/8- to 1/8-inch connector cords, and toys with
1/8-inch jacks.
3. The Multisensory Motivational Center can also be used to activate
any of our other specially adapted toys available. If you use 1/4- to
1/8-inch adaptors, they must be mono adaptors, not stereo.
Troubleshooting:
Problem: The unit stops activating a toy.
Action: Replace the batteries in the toy.
Care of Unit:
The Multisensory Motivational Center can be wiped clean with any
household multi-purpose cleaner and disinfectant. We recommend
Simple Green, which is a non toxic biodegradable all-purpose cleaner.
Do not submerge the unit, as it will damage the electrical
components.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they will scratch the surface of the
unit.
