To ensure its optimal ageing, the wine needs an environment which respects the
essential parameters for its good evolution (constant temperature, controlled
humidity, permanent darkness, air circulation, absence of vibrations, adapted
storage).
Traditionally, the wines are stored in natural cellars wheretheseessentialcriteriaare
respected for their good evolution. But a beautiful cellar isnotautomaticallyagood
cellar.
Thanks to technology and with materials available on the market, we are able to
recreate today a dedicated space with these optimal conditions in contemporary
houses. And all that for a reasonable price.
Following some simple rules, using existing space or building a dedicated one, will be
more effective than certain natural cellars.
Why a cooling unit for wine cellar?

Each unit has its own use
The air-conditioner maintains the temperature of a room at the chosen level, but
the temperature precision is inaccurate and it also dries theair.Thedifferenceof
temperature between the inside and the outside should not exceed 10°Cforanormal
operation.
The cooling unit dedicated for wine cellars operates in regard to the perfect
conditions for ageing wines, in particular by controlling the temperature within one
degree, while maintaining the hygrometry necessary to the sealing of the bottle corks.
What are the differences with a home air-conditioner?

INOA is a cooling unit equipped with a ventilated cooling circuit. The cold system
consists in making constant circulation of the air around thebottlesinsidethecellar.
The air is then drawn towards the evaporator through which it cools and brings apart
moisture that it contains, before starting its cycle again.
The presence of a heater element integrated in the unit maintains the wine at its right
ageing temperature in the event of important drop of the outside temperature.
INOA is designed with an integral body made in one piece (monobloc). The
evaporator and the condenser are interdependent in the same volume. The design of
the unit allows any exchange between the inside and the outsideofwinecellar,
therefore no loss of cold power.

Installation
An easy installation
The INOA unit is ready to be installed. No cooling pipe junctions are necessary, no
need for gas filling.
The right thing to do is to determine the right location for theunitandtodrill2holes
(Ø210mm) in the wall.
The INOA unit is held with an adapted bracket on the wall.
An electrical plug or junction box has to be used to connect theunittomainelectrical
power. A circuit breaker is recommended.

Installation
Installation on the door
INOA installation onto the door of a cellar is possible.
This requires an adapted solid door to avoid vibration
which could damage the unit.
Of course, it is essential to check that the door is capable
of supporting a weight of 46kgs. The procedure for fitting
stays the same as for the wall.

INOA various installation
Easy to install
INOA can be placed inside or outside the cellar,
fixed to a wall in upper position or nearly on the
floor.
In any case INOA has to be screwed to the wall
through a specific frame bracket (which comes
with the unit).
We recommend to fix INOA as high as possible
in order to optimize the air convection in the
cellar (leave a space of 200mm between the
ceiling and the unit housing to make it easier to
fit INOA onto its frame bracket).

Things to know
Before any installation, it is of the highest importance to know the general
characteristics of the environment of the cooling unit. It isnecessarytotakeinto
account the volume of the wine cellar, the thickness and insulation of the walls, door,
ground and ceiling, ventilation and size of the adjacent room.
Aperfectinsulationisofprimeimportancetoobtainthebestperformancesfromthe
INOA unit.
A lack or an absence of insulation multiplies by 3 the power necessary to air-cool the
same volume and it increases electric consumption. The traditional materials of
construction such as stone, concrete or brick are very bad insulators and only the walls
in the earth represent a suitable natural insulation easily.
It is thus essential, in the majority of cases, to envisage theinsulationofthewhole
cellar to be air-cooled.
There are several types of insulating materials but the performance of each one is
characterized by its thermal conductivity coefficient and its thickness.

Things to be done
To obtain the optimal performances of INOA unit, we advise to insulate all parts of the
cellar with extruded polystyrene of minimum thickness of 80mm, the most efficient
and economical on the market (extruded polystyrene 80mm corresponds to 4.80 m of
stone wall!). Moreover, the extruded polystyrene panels havetheadvantagetobe
assembled into each other to avoid the cold power losses.
It is essential to make insulation of the whole cellar to be air-cooled (walls, door and
ceiling). On the ground, beaten ground, or few centimeters ofsandandgravelsupport
the insulation and the presence of humidity necessary for the good wine ageing.
Never forget that, from its operation, a cooling unit rejects warm air from its
condenser part. A good ventilation of the adjacent room is important to preserve
optimal performance of the unit. The temperature of this room will never have to
exceed 35°C(95°F). If it is not the case it will be necessary to add an extractor of hot
air (flow at least equal to the hot flow outlet of the air-conditioner = 600 m3/hour
(355 cu.ft./m) for INOA25 and 650 m3/hour (385 cu.ft./m) for INOA50.
After perfect insulation of the wine cellar, finishing touches can be applied in order to
make the part more aesthetic and to avoid possible particle emissions from insulating
material in the atmosphere.

Temperature regulation by a remote control
The regulation of the temperature as well as its display is carried out using a wireless
remote control.
The remote control works by radio frequency (433,92Mhz). It isunidirectionalsystem.
The remote control is equipped with an integrated temperatureprobe.Thusway,it
could be located closer to bottles and without taking into account the cooling unit
location.
If you wish to install the remote control outside of the cellar, it is necessary to use the
wired probe delivered with the unit.
The remote control is fitted with 2 batteries out, one operates and the second one is in
spare.

Installation
Things not to be done
The presence of windows or picture windows in the air-cooled wine cellar is
excluded.
In the air-cooled wine cellar, the presence of sources of heat (heating by the ground,
the piping of heating, radiator, boiler,…) is also to be avoided.
In a long narrow room, never install the cold air exhaust of unit widthwise. It would
disturb the homogeneity of the temperature and the good air circulation inside the
cellar.
Astrictbutsimplerequirement=thewineliveswellwiththewine! The storage of
other products in the cellar (vegetables, cheeses, vinegars, chemical products, etc.) is
to be excluded to avoid fatal smells for the wine.

INOA advantages
Homogeneity of temperature
INOA ensures a mixing of permanent air of the room, a descent inregular
temperature of the bottles and a perfect homogeneity of the temperature. INOA
recycles more than 500m³ of air per hour. Thus, in one hour, INOA brewed 10 times
the volume of cellar which to be air-conditioned.
The INOA performances. By design, there is an insulation condenser/evaporator
which does not allow any exchange between the external and interior rooms,
therefore no loss of refrigerating power. There is no exchange of air between the
rooms and this fact no risk of external pollution of the cellarthroughthecoolingunit.

Humidity control
Aclassiccoolingunitusesacircuitproducingalotofcoldtoquicklyair-coola
volume of air. This system dries the air of a cellar.
EuroCave finalized an exclusive technology which maintainsapositiveandconstant
evaporation temperature (above 0°C). This is why INOA does not dry the air inside
the cellar by minimizing water condensation.
The design of cooling circuit and automatic speed adjustmentofcondenserfanallow
constantly a positive temperature balance.
In addition, a drip tray with a water drain pipe is located undertheevaporator. The
collected water from air condensation can be put outside the cellar in case of high
humidity level or in the opposite way it can be put inside the cellar in case of low
humidity level.

The automatic speed adjustment of the condenser and evaporator fans taking account of
surrounding temperature allows to avoid electrical over consumption.
