SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This rangehood must only be installed in accordance with the instructions provided.
Incorrect installation may cause harm to persons, damage property and void the product’s warranty.
This rangehood complies the safety standard AS/ NZS60335.2.31 and AS/NZS 60335.1
Important
•Please ensure that you read the entire instructions before beginning the installation of your
rangehood.
Warning
All electrical work must be done in accordance with local and national electrical codes as applicable
and should be undertaken by licensed and qualified persons only.
•This rangehood is designed for domestic household use only.
•This appliance is not intended to be used by children, or persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning the use of the rangehood by a person responsible for their safety.
•Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•You must read the instructions concerning the method and frequency of cleaning. Important! There
is a risk of fire if cleaning isn’t carried out in accordance with the instructions.
•Do not check the status of the filters while the Range Hood is operating.
•Do not touch bulbs or adjacent areas, during or straight after use.
•CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
•Constantly check food frying, overheated oil may become a fire hazard.
•Disconnect the electrical plug prior to any maintenance.
•Never flambé under the rangehood.
•Exhaust air must not be discharged into an existing flue which is used by other appliances for
exhausting fumes.
•If the power supply cord of this rangehood is damaged in any way, it must only be replaced by one
of our authorised service agents. Please call or email our customer service team for further
assistance. Contact details can be found on the back of this user manual.
•Your new rangehood is guaranteed against electrical or mechanical defects, subject to certain
exclusions that are noted in the Warranty Terms and Conditions (at the rear of this user manual). The
foregoing does not affect your statutory rights.
•The use of this rangehood for any other purpose or in any other environment, without our express
agreement, will invalidate any warranty or liability claim.
•No modifications to the appliance are permitted.
•Repairs may only be carried out by authorised service agents.
•Cleaning of the rangehood should be carried out on a regular basis.

Safety Precautions
•Take care when the Range Hood is operating simultaneously with an open fireplace or burner that
depend on natural ventilation as the Range Hood removes air from the room, which a burner or
fireplace may need for combustion.
•Provide adequate ventilation for safe operation of the Rangehood.
•Follow any local laws that apply to external air evacuation.
•Before connecting to the electricity network:
•Look at the data plate (located inside the appliance) to ascertain that the voltage and power
correspond to the available power supply and the power outlet is suitable. If in doubt, ask a
qualified electrician.
•If the appliance is used intensively for a long period of time, you may need to open a window to
improve airflow.
•The minimum distance between the cooktop hob and the lowest part of the rangehood shall be at
least 60cm. If the instructions for installation of the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be
taken into account.
•Regulation concerning the discharge of air has to be fulfilled.
•60cm rangehoods can only be installed above hobs with 4 or less burners / elements.
•90cm rangehoods can only be installed above hobs with 6 or less burners / elements.
Unpacking
During transportation, protective packaging was used to protect the appliance against any damage.
After unpacking, please dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to
the environment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are
100% recyclable and are marked with the appropriate symbol.
Caution!
During unpacking, the packaging materials (polythene bags, polystyrene pieces, etc.) should be kept
out of reach of children

Electrical Connection
Assembly and electrical connections must be carried out by an authorised service
agent.
The Range Hood is fitted with a power cord and a 3-pin plug. Install the Range Hood so that the
plug is easily accessible.
Plug the 3- pin plug into a properly earthed, 10A general purpose power outlet.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a
similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
The appliance has been manufactured as a class 1 therefore earth cable is necessary.
The connection to the mains is carried out as follow:
If not provided, connect a plug for the electrical load indicated on the description label. Where
a plug is provided, the cooker hood must be installed so that the plug is easily accessible after
installation.
An omni polar switch with a minimum aperture of 3mm between contacts, in line with the
electrical load and local standards, must be placed between the appliance and the network in
the case of direct connection to the electrical network.

Recommended Clearances
Install the Range Hood in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions. For optimum performance, we
recommend that all Range Hood clearances be a
minimum of 650mm to a maximum of 750mm between the
top of the cooking surface to the underside of the Range
Hood. The distance may be reduced to 600mm to align
with AS/NZS 5601.
WARNING: DO NOT penetrate any screws into the range hood as this may result in electrical hazards.
WARNING: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in
electrical hazards.
If a connection flue composed of two parts is used, the upper part must be placed outside the lower
part.
Exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is used for exhausting fumes from appliances
burning gas or other fuels.
Installation must comply with any local regulations concerning the discharge of exhaust air.
Before proceeding with the assembly, remove the anti-grease filter so that the unit is easier to handle.
Prepare the hole in the ceiling or wall for the extraction of the air.
Ducting Options
Before beginning the installation of your rangehood, the method of ducting should be determined. The
guide below illustrates the various ducting options to be considered.
Note: This series of rangehoods can be fitted with charcoal filters which absorb the odour and grease
and allow for air to be recirculated back into the room although it is still recommended to duct to the
outside atmosphere wherever possible.

•Use cylindrical ducting and ensure the
diameter matches the rangehood outlet
•Avoid sharp 90 degree bends as much as
possible, use 45 degree bends instead.

Rangehood Installation (Ducted Method)
Check the area where the range hood is to be fitted, to ensure that it is structurally sound and will
support the weight of the appliance. Do not install direct onto plaster board using 'Wall mates' or other
similar anchors.
Range hood must be fixed into studs or noggins in the wall to ensure it is secure and minimize vibration
in the wall.
For various installation types, use screws and screw anchors suited to the type of wall (e.g. reinforced
concrete, plasterboard, etc.). If the screws and screw anchors are provided with the product, check
that they are suitable for the type of wall on which the hood is to be fixed.
1. Locate the position and height of where the mounting bracket will be fixed to.
This will be a combination of the distance between the bottom of the rangehood and the
cooktop (y) and the distance from the base of the rangehood to the top of the mounting
holes (x) (refer Fig.1 )
2. Fix the wall bracket to the wall at 3 points using suitable anchors and screws and mount the flue
extension bracket directly above at the very top of the wall (refer Fig. 2 ).
3. Directly above the flue extension bracket, cut a 155mm diameter hole in the ceiling for ducting
to pass through. The edge of the hole should start no further than 10mm away from the wall to
ensure it is covered by the flue extension, once in place.
4. Feed 150mm ducting down through the hole in the ceiling and leave loose until ready to
connect to the spigot on the rangehood.

5. Hang the rangehood on the wall by tilting it on a slight angle and lifting it onto the bracket so
that protruding hooks interlock with the mounting holes at the top of the rangehood
(refer Fig. 3 ).
6. Slide the flue extension into the main flue and fix the stability bracket to the main flue (refer
Fig.4).
7. Place the flue set onto the rangehood and feed the ducting through and connect onto the
spigot of the rangehood and secure with a cable tie or duct tape.
8. The main flue piece can now be secured to the rangehood with the included fixing screws.
Next secure the stability bracket and the rangehood to the wall via internal mounting holes.
Ensure suitable anchors and screws are used to secure both the stability bracket and the
rangehood (refer Fig.5).
9. Plug in the rangehood to a pre-existing GPO. If a GPO is required, ensure one is installed by a
qualified electrician and is placed within the dimensions of the flue, so it is hidden from view.
Finally slide the upper flue (extension) up into place and secure to the bracket installed in step 2.
