Connection to power supply or other devices

Before applying power to the system, thoroughly review all installation, operation, and safety
instructions.
Failure to install the system power supply correctly or to follow all operating instructions correctly
may create an electrical shock hazard, which can result in personal injury or loss of life, and/or
damage to equipment or other property

To avoid injuries, always disconnect power and discharge circuits before touching them.

Installation
WARNING!
Verify that the mounting location can withstand the added loads caused by the addition of the
device, it should be firmly secured so that it will not cause any potentially hazardous
situations (e.g. falling down due to vibration or shock)
Do not operate the device near heat sources or flames.

The information below complies with the regulations set out in the 2002/96/EC directive, subsequently
superseded by 2003/108/EC. It refers electrical and electronic equipment and the waste management of such
products.
When disposing of a device, including all of its components, subassemblies and materials that are an integral part
of the product, you should consider the WEEE directive.
The use of the following symbol, attached to the equipment, packaging, instruction literature, or the
guarantee sheet, states that the device has been marketed after August 13th 2005, and implies that
you must separate all of its components when possible, and dispose of them in accordance with
waste disposal legislations:
Because of the substances present in the equipment, improper use or disposal of the refuse can cause

EMC Requirements for Industry Canada

Causing Equipment Regulations. This device complies with Industry Canada RSS

Transportation
When transporting any module or system, for any reason, it should be packed using anti-static material and

Product Overview
The ReliaGATE 10-20 is a ready-to-deploy, industrial-grade, gateway for advanced Internet of Things
applications. It is a smart device that enables communications, edge computational power, simplified application
deployment, and integration with Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) platforms for immediate
service generation. It provides a capable communication architecture and offers connectivity to a wide range of
sensors and edge devices making it easy to collect data from the field and deliver it to your business application.
ReliaGATE 10-20 supports wireless applications including GPS, Wi-Fi, and 2G/3G cellular and wired connectivity
such as USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, serial ports, CAN 2.0b, analog inputs, and isolated digital I/O.
With the ReliaGATE 10-20, you can easily manage configuration and deliver out-of-the-box connectivity for your
IoT/M2M and connected applications. It comes with an optimized Yocto-based Linux operating system
specifically targeted for this device. The ReliaGATE 10-20 comes with Java and OSGi-based middleware for IoT
gateways, Eurotech’s Everyware™ Software Framework (ESF). ESF abstracts and isolates the application
developer from the complexity of the hardware subsystems and ensures application portability across
architectures. ESF built-in components are configurable services covering the most-common building blocks for
IoT applications such as I/O access, network configuration, data services, and remote management. ESF support
the Eurotech’s Everyware™ Cloud for remote access and remote management of IoT gateways.
The following figure shows a full-featured ReliaGATE 10-20. A ReliaCELL 10-20 cellular module is mounted.

Power Supply
The ReliaGATE 10-20 power connector is a 4-pin header located on the front panel.

The ReliaGATE 10-20 comes with a flying lead cable that meets all product specifications to properly mate to the
power connector, both mechanically and electrically (610129-00013).
Note:
1. Any ReliaGATE 10-20 that is Rev A or lower, will not have the same power connector pinout.
The ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM rating (no damage to the unit but allowable performance degradation) for the power
input is 40VDC. The table below shows the input DC voltage range where the unit will still meet its performance
specifications.

The following table describes the power management states supported by the ReliaGATE 10-20. See Release

Description
Full Operation
All devices are operational with dynamic power management functions
active.
Standby or Sleep
Most devices are powered down.
DRAM is retained using low-power self-refresh.
Wake events are active and enable a transition back to full operation.
Note: This feature is SW dependent. Please check with your Eurotech
representative to determine if your unit has this feature functional.
Hibernation
All devices are powered down except the embedded controller which is active
but in low-power mode.
Operating system context is saved to non-volatile memory prior to powering
down.
Limited wake events are active.
Resume to full operation is dependent on numerous system components.
Power down
All devices are powered down except the embedded controller which is active
but in low-power mode.
No operating system context is preserved.
Limited wake events are active.
