WARNING - Do not use rechargeable batteries!
Never recharge batteries, do not short circuit them,
do not take them apart - Risk of explosion! Remove
dead batteries from the device immediately.
Do not use old and new batteries together. Clean battery
and device contacts before inserting if necessary.
Keep batteries away from children. Avoid contact with
skin, eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact
with battery acid, rinse the affected areas immediately
with plenty of water, and seek medical attention
immediately.
* When using the RAV adapter,
you need the RAV Pin for the
extension of the valve stem.

Comet DECT is designed for use in buildings.
Operate Comet DECT only as described in the user
manual.
Comet DECT should only be put to use in a dry and
dust-free place, away from direct sunlight.
Do not keep using the device when there is obvious
damage.
Comet DECT may not be rebuilt, modified or opened.

With Comet DECT you get a smart energy-saving
controller for the FRITZ!Box home network.
Comet DECT can be easily set up via the FRITZ! Box and
used - at home on your PC, Note-book or tablet, and on
the go via the Internet.
Comet DECT controls your room temperatures
automatically according to your specifications. You can
control the energy-saving controller, for example, with a
weekly calendar.
The connection to the FRITZ!Box is established in a
simple manner via DECT Radio.

Perform the registration in the vicinity of your FRITZ!Box.
1.Insert the batteries into the unit Comet DECT.
(Explanation can be found on page 7.)
2.Press the button „DECT“ on your FRITZ!Box within
90 seconds. Hold down the button until the light-emitting
diode „Info“ flashes on the FRITZ!Box.
The radio connection is established when the icon in the
display lights up continuously.
3.Now continue with the installation at the radiator.
If the icon is not displayed, the Login was unsuccessful.
Insert the batteries again, and then go to step 2.
Logging on to the FRITZ!Box (automatically) INFO - Standby Mode
To prolong battery life, the display switches to the
Standby Mode after a few seconds. Pressing any
button wakes up the device.
Remove the battery cover by pressing upwards at the
marked point (1) and unhook (2). Now insert the batteries.
Pay attention to the correct polarity! At a later battery
change, the configuration of your Comet DECT
is maintained.

If the device is in Standby Mode, wake it up by pressing
any key. The display flashes PREP (Preparation) and then
INST (installation) appears.

For installation, Comet DECT must be in the INST positi-
on. (Press MENU button and with the setting wheel con-
firm the menu item INST with OK ). For later assembly
also previously select the menu item INST.Always mount
in this position.

Comet DECT adapts to
your valve.
Adaption
Press button for
about 3 seconds.
Once you logged in Comet DECT at the FRITZ!Box, you
can set it up and operate it on the user interface of the
FRITZ!Box. The user interface can be opened on any PC,
laptop or tablet, which is connected to the FRITZ!Box.
1.Open an Internet browser.
2.Type in the address bar http://fritz.box.
The user interface opens.
3.Select the „Home Network“ menu and item „Smart
Home“. This page shows all smart home devices are
reported.
Set up and operate on the computer
On the „Edit icon“ you will be able to set up the
device. You can make different settings and you will also
find the version name, model and the IPEI number.
IPEI (Identification Number)
Each DECT Comet has an individual IPEI number to dis-
tinguish the devices. You can find this number in the user
interface, on a label on the device and in the MENU if you
item IPEI. Only the last 7 digits are displayed.
Date and time
The date and time are automatically transferred from
the FRITZ!Box. Comet DECT automatically switches
between summer and winter time settings.
The adaption starts the process for the valve adjustment,
the device adapts to the stroke of the valve lower part of
the radiator.

Settings on the FRITZ!Box user interface
Key lock
Activate/deactivate by ticking the key lock.
Confirm with OK.
Timer
Here you can program your desired comfort temperature
(heating temperature) and an economy temperature (redu-
ced temperature). Then, with the mouse button you create
a time profile for the entire week. Confirm with OK.
Holiday Mode
For times when you are absent, you can specify a tempe-
rature to which it is heated throughout. After the holiday
period, the normal timer continues as set. Confirm with OK.
Heating off
Preset: 01.06.-31.08. You can also change these dates at
any time. After this period, the normal timer continues as
above set. Confirm with OK.
Window open detection
When you open a window and following the tempera-
ture in the room drops sharply, the valve is closed at the
radiator controller. You can set how sensitive you want
the „Window-open-detection“ to react (low, medium,
high) and for how long the valve remains closed. Confirm
with OK.
Temperature deviation (Offset)
As the temperature is measured at the radiator controller,
it may be warmer or colder at other points in the room.
To compensate for this, you can adjust the temperature
deviation. Confirm with OK.

FUNK with OK . The display flashes SUCH.
Confirm by pressing the button OK .OK lights up
briefly on the display. The radio connection is
established when the icon in the display lights up
continuously.
Push Service
The Push Service transmits an email with information
about the status of the smart home device for important
events, e.g. low battery, lost radio connection or fault on
the radiator controller. The overview shows you which
push services are enabled in the FRITZ!Box. Confirm
with OK.
Setting Push Service
Select in the menu „System“ the item „Push Service“.
Adjust, when and by which smart home device you want
to receive notifications.
Temperature change (fast access)
On the page „Smart Home“ (page of the Device
Overview) you can adjust the current temperature.
The temperature is maintained until the next change
from Comfort to Economy temperature (or vice versa)
that is dictated by the timer. The „temperature set“
may possibly differ from the „measured temperature“.
Setting on Comet DECT
If you press both buttons for about 2 seconds
simultaneously, the device is locked or unlocked.

Activate manually Window open detection
The „Window open detection“ is always active. Should
there still be performed a manual „Window open detec-
tion“, proceed as follows: Hold the button on the
unit for about 2 seconds to activate the „Window open
detection“. The function now remains active as long
as you have selected your setting in the FRITZ!Box menu.
If this symbol is illuminated on the display, the „Window
open detection“ is activated. If you want the function to
end before the end of this time, press the MENU button on
the device.
Manual temperature setting
If, during operation, the target temperature is changed
manually on the device by means of the setting wheel,
this will remain until the next switching point, your set
time profile is not changed.
Setting Menu Comet DECT
Press MENU to enter the setting menu.
The various points can be selected with the setting
wheel. With OK select a menu item, with the setting
wheel the values can be changed. OK OK confirms an
entry, press the button MENU again to exit the menu.

Frost protection function
The frost protection function is activated automatically.
If the temperature drops below 6 °C, Comet DECT opens
the valve until the temperature again rises above 8 °C.
Thus, freezing of the heater is prevented.
Calcification protection
The calcification protection is automatically active. In
order to prevent calcification of radiator valves, Comet
DECT performs 1x weekly (on Friday morning) an anti-
calcification process.

Adapter
WARNING
Remove the connecting pieces of the plastic adapter com-
pletely before you use one of the supplied adapter!
For the following valves no adapter is required:
Heimeier, Junkers Landy + Gyr, MNG, Honeywell, Brauk-
mann, as these have a thread of M30 x 1.5 mm. The adapt-
ers for Danfoss RAV (pin must be plugged on the valve
tappet) Danfoss RA and Danfoss RAVL are included.
For the following valves you need an adapter:
Herz M28 x 1.5 mm, Comap M28 x 1.5 mm, Vaillant 30.5
mm, Oventrop M30 x 1.0 mm, Meges M38 x 1,5 mmm,
Ondal M38 x 1.5mm, Giacomini 22.6 mm, Rossweiner M33
x 2.0 mm, Markaryd M28 x 1.0 mm, Ista M32 x 1.0 mm,
Vama M28 x 1.0 mm, Pettinaroli M28 x 1.5 mm, T+A M28 x
1.5 mm or Gampper 1,2,6.

Press the button MENU and select with the setting wheel
the menu item INST. Confirm with OK. While the valve
completely retracts, Comet DECT stands on PREP. When
this process is finished, INST is again on the display. Un-
screw the cap nut and remove Comet DECT off the valve.

thermostats may be sent to the service address below.
Please ensure sufficient postage is paid.
A new or repaired device will then be sent to you free of
charge. Following expiry of the guarantee, you may still
send the defective device to the address below for repairs.
Please ensure sufficient postage is paid. Repairs carried
out after the guarantee period are subject to a charge.
Your legal rights are not affected by this guarantee.
There is no new warranty period starting when repairing
or replacing the device. Please note that we only grant
warranty on the function of the device. We will not grant
warranty for the interaction between the thermostat and
the bottom part of the valve. The technical data is only
valid for the use of the following valves: Heimeier, Junkers
Landys + Gyr, MNG, Honeywell, Braukmann (measure of
thread M30 x 1,5), Oventrop (M30 x 1,5) Danfoss RA, RAV
and RAVL.
