Smart Plug
Installation Instructions
General Introduction
AN183 Smart Plug is a home automation devicedesigned to control the On / Off
status of home electronic devices. AN183 can measure the connected load power
for electricity usage monitoring applications and is able to detect overload condition
and turn off the load, preventing fire hazard.
Product Overview
Plug Type
AN183 comes in German plug and French plug versions.
Binding with VIAS
1. Do not insert the plug into an electrical outlet yet.
2. Log into the VIAS APP.
3. Select “System”, then “Add a Device”,
4. Plug the Smart Plug into an electrical outlet. There is no need to press On/Off
button to make the auto-inclusion at first time.
5. Time-out will occur if the binding process was unsuccessful. Please refer to the
“Manual binding” on the wizard.
Operation on VIAS APP
Look for the sensor in Room/Device list, press and hold the sensor icon for 2 sec to
enter the sensor information page to assign the sensor into different rooms.

ON/Off control:
Short press the plug icons once in the assigned room can easily quick on/off the
plug.
Power Measurement Chart
(1) Short press the plug icons once on Rooms/Device list can enter the page for
the chart of figures by day, week, month or year. The chart data is kept on the
SD card or HDD/SSD. There will be no chart information if panel does not
contain SD card or HDD/SSD
There are different property can be set on list of display.
Power on: to indicate the period of time the plug is on
Overloading: to the period of time the plug is overloading.
Power KWH: to show the power consumption by KWH
Power Watt: to show the power consumption by Watt
Loading: to indicate the time when the connected appliance on plug is turned on
Automation
The sensor can be working on the advanced automation to set in a group of
scenario. Ex.If the power consumption overloading then activate the action like
send push message, siren alarm, turn off all the power, etc.
Enter SceneAutomation, choose “+Automation”
Select Metering plug according to Room, there are several condition can be set
including, on/off, overloading, loading enabled or not, then goes to Edit Actions to
choose the actions on this scenario. Please remember to press save to complete
the setting.

Manual ON/Off control:
Press the button and the LED will turn on, and the electronic device controlled by
AN183 will also turn on, while pressing the button again will turn off the electronic
device and its LED will turn off as well.
Manual Binding
1. With the plug in Off position (LED is Off) press and hold the On/Off button for
more than 4 seconds until the LED blinks rapidly. A 30-second countdown will
start. Then goes to VIAS APP, choose System>Add Device to press the AN183
icon on the list, then enter the pairing wizard to perform the pairng.
2. Within 5 seconds, the LED indicator will then stop flashing and turn off,
indicating the learning procedure is completed. The screen will appear
indicating the process is successful.
Note: The Plug has an overload protection feature. Upon detecting an overload
condition, it will automatically switch off the load, disable the On/Off button and the
LED will flash rapidly for 30 seconds as warning. When this happens, disconnect
the load and check the load for symptoms of failure. The overload protection of the
Plug can be reset by simply unplugging the Plug and re-connecting it to the
electrical outlet.
Safety Precautions
1. Do not put the unit in humid or dusty places or facing direct sunlight.
2. The suitable ambient temperature for the unit is 0°C to 40°C.
3. Do not place the unit near combustible substances or any source of heat, e.g.
fire, radiators, boilers, etc.
Troubleshooting
The troubleshooting table lists some possible causes and solutions. Please contact
your original retailer or nearest service center if the below solutions cannot solve
your problem.

Reset to Factory Settings
To reset AN183 back to factory default state:
1. Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds until the LED starts to flash
then release the button.
2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button for more than 6 seconds. The
LED will start to flash, implying the device is reset back to factory mode
