WhenoperatingaFrontrunnertractorwithout
anapprovedExmarkfrontmountattachment,
observethefollowing:
•Limitoperationtominimumrequiredto
installadifferentfrontmountattachment.
•Minimizespeedanduseextremecaution.
•Onlyoperateonaatlevelsurface.
•DoNotoperateupordownatrailerramp.
•Avoidsuddenaccelerationordeceleration.
UncratingtheUnit
1.Removetopandsidesofcratefrombase.
2.Removestrapssecuringfrontframeanddeckto
crate.
InstallingthePTODriveShaft
1.Cuttheziptiessecuringthedriveshafttothecrate.
2.Removethetapefromthegearboxshaftandthekey.
3.Installthetoothedwasherontothegearboxshaft
followedbytheguard.
4.Insertthesquarekeyonthegearboxshaftandthen
slidethedriveshaftintothegearboxshaftuntilit
contactstheguard(Figure1).

Important:DoNottransportFrontrunnertractor
withoutandapprovedExmarkfrontmount
attachment.
1.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey.
2.Rotatethefoldlocklever,locatedonthedeck,inthe
unlockedposition(Figure2).

3.Onthetractor,removethetworetainingpinson
hitchlatchessothelatchescanactuatefreely.Raise
theoorpanandlockinuprightposition(Figure3).

4.Alignthefrontframeofthemowerdecktothe
Frontrunnertractorhitch.
5.Manuallyliftuponthehitchtogetthebarsonthe
frontframestartedintothereceiversofthehitch.
6.Pushthefrontframetowardsthetractoruntilthe
twohitchlatchesseatintothe“secure”position.
7.Insertthehitchlatchretainingpinsintothehitchpin
lock.Thedeckisnowlockedontothetractor.
8.Reinstallthekeyandturntheswitchtothe“run”
position.DoNotstarttheengine.
9.Alignthecylinderrodendtothetopholeoftheoat
linkbracketandinsertthepinasshowninFigure4.
Insertthecotterhairpintolockthecylinderpininto
place.

WARNING
Incorrectlyraisingorloweringamowerdeck
canbedangerous.Adroppedmowerdeckcan
resultinaseriousinjuryorpropertydamage.
•Alwaysraiseandlowerdeckonat,dry
ground,freeofanyobstructions.
•Alwaysmakesurethedeckissecurely
latchedinthe“up”or“down”position.
10.Retractthecylindertofoldthedeckupward.Attach
theweighttransferchains.Itisveryimportantnot
totwistthechains.Lockthechainsontothepinby
insertingthecotterhairpin(Figure5).

WARNING
Operatingthemowerdeckintheraisedservice
positioncanbedangerous.EngagingthePTO
withadeckintheraisedpositioncanresultina
seriousinjuryorpropertydamage.
Alwayslowerandlockmowerdeckinthe
operationpositionbeforeengagingthePTO.
11.Extendthecylinderfullyuntilthecasterwheels
contactthegroundandthedeckisinthefullyraised
position.Thefoldlockleversshouldhaveresetand
snappedintothe“locked”position.Lowertheoor
pan.
WARNING
Operatingmowerwithoutfoldlocklevers
securelylatchedcanresultinthemowerdeck
foldingupunexpectedlyandcancauseserious
injury.
Alwaysoperatemowerwiththefoldlocklevers
securelylatched.
12.Connectthedriveshaftbypushingbackthespring
loadedcollar.Alignandcouplethedriveshafttothe
splineddriveshaftandreleasethecollar(Figure6).
