•Becomefamiliarwiththesafeoperationofthe
equipment,operatorcontrols,andsafetysigns.
•Alloperatorsandmechanicsshouldbetrained.
Theownerisresponsiblefortrainingtheusers.
•Neverletchildrenoruntrainedpeopleoperate

•Wearappropriateclothingincludingsafetyglasses,
substantialfootwear,andhearingprotection.Do

•Operateonlyindaylightorgoodarticiallight,
keepingawayfromholesandhiddenhazards.
•Parkmachineonlevelground.Stopengine,wait
forallmovingpartstostop,removekeyand
engageparkingbrakewheneveryouleavethe
mower.
SlopeOperation
UseExtremecautionwhenoperatingand/orturning
onslopesaslossoftractionand/ortip-overcould
occur.Theoperatorisresponsibleforsafeoperation
onslopes.
DANGER
Operatingonwetgrassorsteepslopescan
causeslidingandlossofcontrol.Lossofcontrol
and/orlossofoperator'sfootingcouldresultina
fallwithanarmorleggettingunderthemachine
orenginedeckwhichmayresultinseriousinjury,
deathordrowning.
•Operateacrossslopes,neverupanddown.
•DoNotoperateonslopeswhengrassiswet.
•Useextremecautionwhenoperatingnear
drop-offsornearwater.
•DoNotoperateonslopesgreaterthan20
degrees.
•Reducespeedanduseextremecautionon
slopes.
•Avoidsuddenturnsorrapidspeedchanges.
•Seeinsidethebackcovertodeterminethe
approximateslopeangleoftheworkingarea.
•Removeormarkobstaclessuchasrocks,tree
limbs,etc.fromtheworkingarea.Tallgrasscan
hideobstacles.
•Watchforditches,holes,rocks,dipsandrisesthat
changetheoperatingangle,asroughterraincould
overturnthemachine.
•Avoidsuddenstartswhenoperatinguphill
becausethemachinemaytipbackwards.
•Beawarethatoperatingonwetgrass,acrosssteep
slopesordownhillmaycausethemachinetolose
traction.Lossoftractiontothedrivewheelsmay
resultinslidingandalossofbrakingandsteering.
•Alwaysavoidsuddenstartingorstoppingona
slope.
•Followthemanufacturer’srecommendationsfor
wheelweightsorcounterweightstoimprove
stability.
•AlwaysinstallandremovetheStandOnas
instructed.Failuretodosowillcauseareduction
instabilityortraction.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Disengagedrives,setparkingbrake,stopengine
andremovekeyordisconnectsparkplugwire.
Waitforallmovementtostopbeforeadjusting,
cleaningorrepairing.
•Keepallguards,shieldsandallsafetydevicesin
placeandinsafeworkingcondition.
•Checkallboltsfrequentlytomaintainproper
tightness.
•Frequentlycheckforwornordeteriorating
componentsthatcouldcreateahazard.
