MAX‐MINandHOLDFunction
TheRH30storesthehighest(MAX)andlowest(MIN)readingssincethemeterwaslastreset.To
viewthemaximum(MAX)reading,presstheMIN‐MAXbutton(rightside,lower).Allreadings
displayedwillnowrepresentthehighestreadingsencounteredsincelastreset.TheMAX
indicatorwillalsoappearontheleftandmiddledisplaysforconfirmation.PresstheMIN‐MAX
buttonagaintoviewthelowestreadings(MIN)sincethelastreset.Allreadingsdisplayedwill
nowrepresentthelowestreadingsencounteredalongwiththeMINindicators.Toreset(clear)
theMAX‐MINmemories,pressRESET(rightside,upperbutton)whileMAXorMINisdisplayed.
RelativeHumidity(RH)Alert
TheRHAlarmtriggersanaudibletoneandtwovisualalerts(frowningfacesymbolilluminates
anduparrowappearsnexttothehumidityreadout)whentheRHexceedsthevaluesetbythe
user.Thelimitswitchontherear(right)ofthemetercanbesetto55%,60%,or65%RH.
WhentheRHreturnstothedesiredrangetheaudiblealarmwillstopsoundingandthefrowning
facesymbollightwillswitchoff.Thearrowwillremainhowevertoshowthatthehumiditywas
higherthanthesetvalueatleastonceinthepast.Toggletherearhumidity%limitswitchto
turnoffthearrow.

TheBasics
TheRH30thermo‐hygrometermonitorsambientroomconditionsandalertstheuserwhenthe
relativehumidityexceedstheuserprogrammedlimit(usetherearhumidity55/60/65%switch
tosetthelimit).
Excessivelyhumidroomaircanaffecthealth,promotingtheformationofmoistureandmold.At
theotherextreme,excessivelydryroomaircanalsoaffecthealthbydryingskin,mucous
membranes,andairways.Pets,houseplants,woodflooring,antiquefurniture,fineart,musical
instruments,etc.areallaffectedbyextremesinambientconditions.Effectiveheatingand
ventilationcanhelpachieveacomfortableandhealthylivingenvironmentandcanalsocut
costs.
TheBenefitsofVentilation
Forroomsthataretoohumid,ventilationatfirstmayseemabadideainwinterwhenoutdoor
airisalsocold,damp,andjustashumid.Coldairhowevercanabsorblittleornomoisture.
Whencoldairentersalivingareaitbecomeswarmerandcanthereforeabsorbmuchmore
watervapor;inonlyafewminutesthehumiditydecreases.
