1.ImportantSafeguards
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury while operating this
hood, please observe the following:
• This unit is intended for domestic household use. Be sure to use and install this unit only in
accordance with the manner for which it is intended.
• Installation work and electrical connections must always be carried out by qualified person(s) in
accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
• Be sure to switch off power prior to cleaning or servicing this unit.
• This appliance is not intended to for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge operating household
appliances, unless they are carefully supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their
safety.
•Air should never be ventilated by this appliance through or into a duct used to let out fumes from
appliances fed by energy other than electric power (eg. centralized heating, radiators, water-
heaters, etc.).
• Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney)
of fuel burning equipment to prevent back drafting.
• Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guideline and safety standards such as those
published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for
Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and your local code authorities.
• Before cutting or drilling into walls or the ceiling, be sure to first inspect areas around, above &
below the area to ensure that damage to electrical wiring or other potentially hidden utilities does
not occur.
• Use only metal ductwork to reduce the risk of fire. Additionally, ducting must always be vented to
the outdoors to reduce the risk of fire. Do not vent the exhaust through ceilings, attics, crawl
spaces, garages or behind walls.

• Clean frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate for long periods of time on the fan
or filter.
• Due to the size and weight of this appliance, installation by two or more persons is recommended.
•The cooktop surface and the lower part of the hood must be installed at a minimum distance of 16
inches (40 cm) apart.
* For safety reasons, flambé cooking (i.e. crepes Suzette, cherries jubilee, beef flambé) should not
be performed on a cooking surface beneath this range hood.
*Ensure the room has adequate aeration when a range hood and appliances fed by energy other
than electric power (gas, oil, wood burning fireplace or coal stoves, etc.) are used simultaneously.
The range hood, when evacuating air, could generate a negative pressure in the room- which
should not exceed the limit of 0.04 mbar, in order to avoid drawing exhaust fumes deriving from
other non-electric heat-sources. Therefore, the room should have air intakes to allow a constant
flow of fresh air.
* When performing electrical connections to the appliance, please make sure that the current-tap is
provided with earth connection and that voltage values correspond to those indicated on the label
placed inside the appliance itself.
* The use of materials which can burst into flames should be avoided in close proximity of the
appliance. When frying, please pay particular attention to fire risk due to oil grease. Since it is
highly inflammable, fried oil is especially dangerous. Do not use uncovered electric
grills In order to avoid possible fire risk, all instructions for grease filter cleaning and for removing
eventual grease deposits should be strictly followed.
•If you have questions related t technical service, please contact Fagor Customer Service at
877.743.2467.
2:Recirculation&Ventilation
The appliance is intended for use to perform either of the following two actions:
•Recirculation: drawing fumes and odors over one or more filters and recirculating the air
back into the room.
•Ventilation: Drawing fumes and odors through a filter up and a duct system and out of the
house.
* In recirculation mode (Fig.1), the air and fumes vented by the appliance are cleaned both by a
grease filter & active charcoal filter, and recirculated through the side-grids of the hood. For this

version, an air deflector is placed on the superior part of the pipe which allowing air to be
recirculated.
* In ventilation mode (Fig.2), fumes are directly vented outside, through an evacuation duct
connected with the superior part of the wall or the ceiling. Utilizing both the charcoal filter and air
deflector are not necessary in this case.
3.Installation
Before installing the appliance, make sure that no parts are damaged. In case of damaged parts,
contact your retailer and do not proceed with installation. Read all of the following instructions with
care before installing the appliance.
- Use an air outlet pipe of the shortest possible length.
- Limit the number of bends in the pipe.
- Use only materials approved by safety standards and regulations.
- Avoid sudden changes in pipe section (recommended diameter minimum: 6 inches (150 mm) or
equal surface area).
This hood has been designed in order to position the air outlet towards the upper rear side of the
appliance. In case you want to position the air outlet towards the rear side, it is necessary to
remove the no. 10 screws of the suctioning unit support (Fig.13), then take the suctioning unit out,
by rotating it in such a way to position the air outlet nozzle towards the rear side of the appliance
(Fig.13); then place the suctioning unit back into its position, and re-insert the previously removed
screws.
WallMounting:
Using the drilling jig supplied (dis. 3A). Drill the holes for the wall bracket installation (Fig.3B); the
hood must be positioned at a minimum of 16 inches (40 cm) from the cooktop. Mount the brackets
on the wall using the screws supplied and hang the hood.
4) on the bracket previously mounted. Using the adjustment screws (fig. 5) make sure
the hood is horizontally well aligned. Lift the front panel upwards, as shown in Fig. 6. Remove the
grease-filter.
In connection with the holes indicated by the arrows in Fig. 7a-7b, drill two 8 mm diameter holes
into the wall, and insert the screw anchors supplied with the appliance. Screw in the screws
supplied with the appliance, in order to further secure the appliance to the wall; place the grease
filter back into its seat and close the front panel.

Ventilation mode:
Fix the pipe-bearing stirrup (Fig.9) to the wall or ceiling by using the proper reinforcements and
screws supplied. Connect the cooker-hood flange with the evacuation hole by using a proper pipe.
Lift the lower pipe until the cable strap coming out of the ventilation unit is uncovered and connect it
to the display cable strap. Put down the lower pipe while paying attention it is being properly
introduced into the hood. Perform the electrical connections. The superior end of the pipe is to be
fixed laterally to the pipe bearing (Fig.9) by using the two self-threading screws. Now mount the
inferior chimney by inserting it through the front side of the hood and then turning it down until it is
fixed inside
Recirculation mode:
* In recirculation mode the air deviator is fixed through the screws supplied (Fig.10), by using the
holes which are on the back of the upper telescopic section. Connect the flange of the appliance
with the air deviator through an appropriate pipe. Connect the appliance with the electric mains. Lift
the lower pipe until the cable strap coming out of the ventilation unit is uncovered and connect it to
the display cable strap. Put down the lower pipe while paying attention it is being properly
introduced into the hood. Fix the upper chimney as indicated in (Fig.10).
4.Operation(Fig.11)
The Remote control supplied enables the function desired by touching the corresponding button. If
the electrical power supply to the product is cut, 15 seconds are required for the unit to perform self
diagnostics after functions are restored.

Note: The remote control battery should be replaced every year to guarantee the optimal
range of the unit. To replace an exhausted battery, remove the battery and replace it with a
new one. Used batteries should always be discarded in special collection bins.
5. Maintenance
* Particular care is due to the grease filter panel. In order to remove it is necessary to open the
front panel first (Fig. 6),
then grasp the filter handle and rotate it outwards. To insert the filter please follow the inverse
procedure.

periodically replaced. The filter can be removed by removing the grease filter first and by pulling
its special plastic tongue until it is unfastened from its slot. Re-insert the filter by operating in the
opposite way. The charcoal filter needs replacing depending on the use, but recommended every
six months at least.
* Before replacing the bulbs, be sure to disconnect the appliance.
* To replace the dichroic light bulbs, remove (Fig. 12) wedging a screwdriver between the bulb
