1.1 How to use this manual

2. Safety warnings
Do not touch any moving parts of the actuator!
Fancom takes no responsibility for any possible damage as a result of incorrect mounting and a non- or
partially functioning installation.
If a product is modified in any way, the right of guarantee and support from Fancom is forfeited.
The installation of the actuator and troubleshooting must be carried out by an authorized technician/installer,
according to the prevailing standards.
•Read the safety instructions carefully before installing and/or using the actuator.
•Mount the actuator in the installation before operating it.
•Regularly check that the actuator is functioning properly.
•After unpacking the actuator, check it for any possible transport damage. Any damage should be reported to
the distributor. Never install a damaged actuator!

3. Installing the LM
Install the LM and associated components as follows:
1. Mount the actuator (see 3.1).
2. Mount the cable reel (see 3.2).
3. Mount the steel wire on the cable reel (see 3.3).
4. Mount the CE protection cover for the cable reel (see 3.4).
5. Mount the pipe/chain coupling (see 3.5).
6. Mount the belt drum (see Error! Reference source not found.).
7. Mount the belt on the belt drum (see 3.6).
8. Mount the CE protection cover on the belt drum (see 3.8).
9. Connect the LM (see 3.9).
10. Reverse the running direction (see 3.10).
11. Set the stroke length (see 3.11).
12. Test the LM (see 3.12).
3.1 Mounting the actuator
1. Do not mount the actuator where the weather has direct influence; not in direct sunlight, in places where the
temperature can rise sharply etc.
2. Mount the actuator on a solid and safe surface.
3. When mounting, the corresponding LM mounting kit can be used. (For mounting instructions see appendix).
4. Otherwise, mark the drilling holes using the drilling jig supplied with the actuator.
5. Seal the gland nuts after mounting to prevent the entry of moisture, dust and/or aggressive gases.
Never mount the actuator in the following position:

1. Feed the cable through the opening.
2. Place the retainer clamp at the end of the steel cable.
3. Wind at least 2 strokes before loading the cable.

2. Insert the cable into the blind hole and fix using the hexagonal socket screw.
3. Wind at least 2 strokes before loading the cable.
3.4 Mounting the CE protection cover for the cable reel
If the actuator is hung within reach of people or animals (less than 2.7m
above the floor), a CE protection
cover should be mounted.

3.9 Connecting the LM
Disconnect power before connecting the cables.
Ensure the actuator is grounded correctly.
Observe the regulations of the electricity company
Limit the length of signal cables as much as possible. Avoid crossing low/high voltage cables.
For electrical connection of the LM refer to the following diagrams in the appendix.
•Connection LM single phase
•Connection LM three phase in star connection
•Connection LM three phase in delta connection
Connect the LM:
1. Follow all instructions on the connection diagrams.
2. Use the correct cables for the correct connections.
3. The voltage and frequency data on the actuator identification plate must correspond to the power supply.
4. Mount the cables so they cannot be damaged, and can easily be replaced in the event of a malfunction.
5. Separate low and high voltage cables by mounting them in separate cable channels.
6. If metal cable channels are used, ground them.
7. Only apply power after all the cables have been connected correctly.
3.10 Reversing the running direction
LM single phase
1. Open the lid of the reduction gear unit (reductor).
2. Change over the OPEN and CLOSE connection (terminals 3 and 4) of the limit switches.
3. Change over the connections of the inlet position feedback (terminals 2 and 4).
4. Close the lid of the reduction gear unit.

LM three phase
1. Open the lid of the reduction gear unit (reductor).
2. Change over the OPEN and CLOSE connection (terminals 3 and 4) of the limit switches.
3. Change over the connections of the inlet position feedback (terminals 2 and 4).
4. Close the lid of the reduction gear unit.
5. Change over the two phases, e.g. U1 and V1.
3.11 Setting the stroke length
Combination overview
The stroke length depends on whether the worm wheel supplied has been mounted or not.
Two different stroke lengths (see technical specifications) can be set on the LM. (Figures below).
The factory setting is without worm wheel.
Without worm wheel 3.0-12.0 rev With worm wheel 1.5-3.0 rev

Mounting pignon on motor axle
The limit switch set must be moved so the worm wheel can be mounted. Unscrewthe M4 screwat the rear (~5mm).
The screw at the front does not need to be unscrewed. The limit switch set slides under the front screw head.

The limit switch sethas alignment locks (see figure below). To move the limit switch set, lift the alignmentlock out of
the opening and move it at the same time.

Place the alignmentlock in the right position and securely tighten the M4 screw. Place the worm wheel on themotor
axle and secure with the clamping bush supplied.
3.12 Testing the LM
1. Check whether the LM has been connected correctly.
2. Check whether the LM works optimally.

4. Using the LM
When using the manual operation, do not activate the actuator electrically.
If the actuator can no longer be activated electrically, the manual operation can still be used to open and close the
motor. Use a battery drilling machine and the 6mm/0.24inch hexagonal pin supplied. Place the hexagonal pin in the
drill head, then insert it into the back of the actuator (Figure below).

5. Maintaining the LM
Always disconnect power before cleaning the actuator.
Fancom advises cleaning the LM actuator regularly, preferably using an air compressor. This prevents imbalance
and overheating.

6. Adjusting the LM
Before starting to adjust the limit switches, ensure that all electrical connections have been carried out
correctly.
1. Open the housing.
2. Ensure that the cam discs (1 and 4) are loose on the, so that the discs can be turned.
3. Place the manual switch in position (). Completely close the inlet valve for the adjustment of the “CLOSED”
position.
4. Turn the cam disc (1) until the cam on the base touches the roller of the switch arm (8) of the limit switch (9).
5. Securely tighten the screw (2) on the cam disc.
6. Fine adjustment is done by turning the worm wheel (3).
7. Place the manual switch in position (). Completely open the inlet valve for the adjustment of the “OPEN”
position.
8. Turn the cam disc (4)until the cam on the upper side touches the roller of the switch arm (11) of the limit switch
(10).
9. Securely tighten the screw (5) on the cam disc.
10. Fine adjustment is done by turning the worm wheel (6).
