Before installing and commissioning the VLR.20d, read the safety instructions, provisions and conditions carefully.
This paragraph contains a number of general safety instructions. The installation of the device and remedying of any
malfunctions should be performed by acertified electrical installer according to the applicable norms. The guarantee
does not apply if this product is installed in any other way than is indicated by Fancom.
Disconnect power before installation.
Prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) when working on the VLR.20d. Ensure that the workplace is clean
and dry.
Use correct wires as shown in the connection diagrams.
Make all wiring connections and check them before applying power. Incorrect connections can cause
permanent damage.
Make sure that the VLR.20d is well and properly grounded according to the guidelines.
Never place the VLR.20d in a place where the weather has direct influence (not in the sun, not in places
where the temperature can rise sharply etc.).
Inspect the VLR.20d periodically for any damages. Notify your installation technician immediately of any
damages. A damaged VLR.20d is unsafe!
Do not use water or high pressure cleaners for lengthy periods.
It is advisable not to switch off the VLR.20d. This could lead to condensation caused by cooling down.

The VLR.20d is a power controller for the control of:
1-phase voltage controllable (triac) fans
Electronically controllable lighting (incandescent lighting and controllable fluorescent lighting)
Heating lamps (phase angle control)
Heating elements (period control)
Install the VLR.20d and associated components as follows:
1. Mount the VLR.20d (see page 3)
2. Connect the VLR.20d (see page 3)
3. Test the VLR.20d (see page 4)
When mounting/installing the VLR.20d, the following should be observed:
Never mount the VLR.20d in a room where animals are present because of the (manual) control.
Place the VLR.20d at such a height that the manual control can be used.
Mount the VLR.20d on a flat surface.
Make sure that the gland nuts are at the bottom of the VLR.20d.
Seal all gland nuts after connection of the VLR.20d to prevent entry of dust, aggressive gases and/or
humidity
The VLR.20d is set as standard as an 10-0Vdc analog control. When this control changes into a 0-10Vdc control,
jumper J3 should be changed; see jumper setting. The manual operation connection should also be changed. This
means that the red (RD) and blue (BL) wire should be changed around.

The VLR.20d has four jumpers with which different settings can be made. The factory setting is for fan(s) with DSR
feedback.
Disconnect the power for the VLR.20d before setting the jumper(s).

1. Switch off the power supply to the end station.
2. Control the jumper positions.
3. Switch on the power supply.
4. Set knob to “A”.
5. Turn potentiometer P1 on the CMV-board completely counter- clockwise.
6. Turn potentiometer P2 on the CMV-board completely clockwise.
7. Set the knob on the front to “M” and turn until the fan starts running.
8. Using potentiometer P2 adjust the minimum voltage between "U" and "V" so that the fan is barely running. A
Fancom fan is normally 2-wire connected and the voltage between "U" and "V" not set below 60Vac. (With a
3-wire connection , do not set the Fancom fan below 45Vac).
9. Turn the knob on the front to a minimum position (not to "aut."), until the fan stops running.
10. Using potentiometer P1 adjust the minimum voltage between "U" and "V" (for a Fancom fan, not below 55Vac).
If the fan is to stop running at 0% control, do not carry out steps 9 and 10. The fan may only stop running
completely with a 2-wire connection.
1. Switch off the power supply to the end station.
2. Control the jumper positions.
3. Switch on the power supply.
4. Set the knob to “A”.
5. Turn potentiometer P1 on the CMV-board completely counter-clockwise (and leave it in this position).
6. Turn potentiometer P2 on the CMV-board completely clockwise.
7. Set the knob to “M” and turn until the fan starts running.
8. Using potentiometer P2 adjust the minimum voltage between "U" and "V" (for a Fancom fan, not below
30Vac).
1. Switch off the power supply to the end station.
2. Control the jumper positions.
3. Switch on the power supply.
4. Set the knob to “A”.
5. Turn potentiometer P1 on the CMV-board completely counter-clockwise.
6. Turn potentiometer P2 on the CMV-board completely clockwise.
7. Set the knob to “M” and turn until the lighting is barely on.
8. Using potentiometer P2 adjust the minimum voltage between "U" and "V" (You determine the minimum lighting
position).

The heating control is a fully period controlled control within 10 seconds. This means, for example, that with 40%
control the heating will be on for 4 seconds and off for 6 seconds. A full period control means that an entire sine will
always be controlled.

Fancom advises 2-wire connection of Fancom fans. If the fans are connected parallel, heat production
per fan may increase (causing a shortened working life). Fancom therefore advises not to parallel switch
more than three fans. See connection diagrams.

Lees de veiligheidsinstructies, bepalingen en voorwaarden aandachtig voordat u de VLR.20d installeert en in
gebruik neemt. In deze paragraaf staan een aantal algemene veiligheidsinstructies. De installatie van het apparaat
en het verhelpen van eventuele storingen dient door een erkend installateur te worden uitgevoerd volgens de
geldende normen. De garantie is niet van toepassing als dit product op een andere wijze wordt geïnstalleerd dan
door Fancom is aangegeven.
Schakel vóór het installeren de stroom uit.
Voorkom elektrostatische ontlading (ESD) als u aan de VLR.20d werkt. Zorg voor een schone en droge
werkplek.
Gebruik de juiste draden zoals getoond in de aansluitschema's.
Verbind alle draden en controleer de verbinding voordat u de stroom inschakelt. Onjuiste aansluitingen
kunnen blijvende schade veroorzaken.
Zorg ervoor dat de VLR.20d volgens de voorschriften goed en degelijk geaard is.
Plaats de VLR.20d altijd buiten directe weersinvloeden (dus niet in de zon, niet op plekken waar de
temperatuur sterk kan oplopen etc.).
Controleer de VLR.20d van tijd tot tijd op eventuele beschadigingen. Meld eventuele beschadigingen
direct aan uw installateur. Een beschadigde VLR.20d is onveilig!
Gebruik geen waterstraal of hogedrukreinigers gedurende langere tijd.
Het wordt aangeraden om de VLR.20d niet uit te schakelen. Dit zou kunnen leiden tot condensvorming
als gevolg van afkoelen.

De VLR.20d is een vermogensregelaar voor het sturen van:
1-Fase spanningsregelbare (triac) ventilatoren
Elektronisch regelbare verlichting (gloeilampen en regelbare TL's)
Verwarmingslampen (fase-aansnijding)
Verwarmingselementen (periodesturing)
Installeer de VLR.20d en de bijbehorende onderdelen als volgt:
1. Monteer de VLR.20d (zie pagina 3).
2. Sluit de VLR.20d aan (zie pagina 3).
3. Test de VLR.20d (zie pagina 3).
Let bij het monteren/installeren van de VLR.20d op het volgende:
Monteer de VLR.20d vanwege de (hand)bediening nooit in een ruimte waar dieren aanwezig zijn.
Plaats de VLR.20d op zo'n hoogte dat de handbediening kan worden gebruikt.
Monteer de VLR.20d op een vlak oppervlak.
Zorg ervoor dat de wartels zich aan de onderkant van de VLR.20d bevinden.
Dicht alle wartels na het aansluiten af om te voorkomen dat er stof, agressief gas en/of vocht in de
VLR.20d binnendringt.
De VLR.20d is standaard ingesteld op een 10-0Vdc analoge sturing. Wanneer deze sturing in een 0-10Vdc sturing
verandert, dient u jumper J3 om te zetten; zie jumper instelling. Tevens moet u de aansluiting van de handbediening
omdraaien. Dat wil zeggen dat u de rode (RD) en blauwe (BL) draad moet omwisselen.
